I think with Montrezl Harrel it's the case of a good player being stuck in the wrong situation. The same with Marc Gasol.

Either of those players backing up Ayton would be fantastic.

Ha. Maybe. I don’t know him that well. I trust Monty and Jones on that evaluation.

I know one thing. We need to keep Cam Payne.

I think I agree. He’s going to get a big contract from some team starved for a PG.

he might be the PGOTF. Maybe has a Billups-esque career where it just took him a while to find his fit/game. Or I could be prisoner of the moment. What I do know is PG is more important than swing man at the end of the day. But that is a tough toss up, especially if Payne keeps this up and we keep advancing.

he’s been such a huge x-factor the first and last third of the season and has owned the Lakers in the playoffs.

he’s also going to be 27 this summer and has never gotten a BIG contract by NBA standards. He’s going to the highest bidder in FA and I won’t blame him.

Wow. The tables have turned on Payne. I talked about him possibly as the PGOF earlier in the season and I was mocked. But there is no way that Cam Payne is a better basketball player than Bridges. And it will be much easier for us to keep Bridges--and I want to keep Payne--a lot.

Schroeder is making Payne look really good.

Did not expect this conversation to go this way.
