I did not answer the poll. There are too many variables involved. If the rothers stays the course and Monti proceeds as usual and Kyler stays, then JG needs to go or at least the entire Offensive staff. If we go new QB, then I am willing to get JG stay, but I am still want to see offensive coaching changes.

I have a feeling Michael told Monti has 3 years of Kyler and if he doesn't take us back to the playoffs, he gets to pick his QB to see what he can do. It would be wild to see Kyler outlast JG and Monti.

the .500 writing was on the wall when kyler came back after dobbs and only continued last year

.500 doesn't cut it in the nfc west - now we're not even .500 - if we suck this year it's because of gannon - who's had all the information in the world since the completion of the last season - he watched the same kyler we saw and still didn't make a move

well look at us now

If they recover from the hole they're in to go, say, 7-10 or 8-9 vs. a tough 2nd half schedule... Let's see how the O and D each look, and whether the entire staff can completely excise their tendency to turtle.
If the Cards end up 7-10 it means they went 5-6 the rest of the way and everyone stays including Kyler.

Do you really find it that absurd that the Michael would hamstring his GM to not pay out Kyler early? Really? Why Drew is still employed? Why the offense has been mostly neglected? It is 100% speculation on my part that Monti never wanted Kyler and had a timeline given with Kyler. Nothing else makes sense at the lack of resources added compared to the defense. Aside from PJJ, Jonah's 2 year deal (horrible signing) and getting lucky with Fro, what has Monti tried to do for the offense. There is no world where Dortch should still be as much a part of this offense as he is. He never tried to build around Kyler. Marv and PJJ were given picks. You need tackles no mater what and had we passed on a WR last year, it would have been blatantly obvious.

Again, this is 100% internal speculation with no much his approach doesn't make sense with the offense. Or Klayton Adams was that good at hiding our flaws and we screwed up not firing Drew and promoting him

Monti and Gannon only got the job because they were willing to lash themselves to Kyler.

FWIW the Athletic Football Sgownhas said that the cards didn’t purposefully neglect the offense this past offseason, they just couldn’t find the values to make improvements. Specifically cited Jordan Burch as an example.

This is a much more plausible theory to me than that Monti was handed a lame duck QB, told to ride him out for THREE SEASONS, and has been intentionally sabotaging him for the past year-plus.

That’s deranged my man.

He has to go after this season, period. I just did some research on every good HC in this league and the common factor is every single one of them had success early. Meaning, there is no such thing as “a coach just needs 4 or 5 years to grow into the job and figure it out.” That’s not what the evidence shows. I thought this was pretty wild.

Kyle Shanahan - 2 losing seasons than 13 wins and a Super Bowl appearance

Sean McDermott - winning record and playoff appearance year 1; overall - 2 winning seasons and playoff appearances in first 3 years

Sean Payton - winning record in year 1 and NFC championship game appearance
*Super Bowl win year 4

Kevin Stefanski - winning season and playoff win year 1

Todd Bowles - first 3 years in Tampa, three straight playoff appearances

Jim Harbaugh - 3 straight NFC championship game appearances including a Super Bowl appearance

Andy Reid - playoffs year 2 including a playoff win, playoffs year 3 and an NFC championship appearance

Dan Quinn - playoffs year 2 and Super Bowl appearance, playoffs year 3 and playoff win

Nick Sirianni - winning record and playoffs every year including a super bowl appearance in year 2
*Super Bowl win year 4

Dan Campbell - winning record by year 2, NFC championship appearance year 3

Matt lafleur - 13 wins in year 1, 2, & 3. NFC championship appearance year 1 & 2

Pete Carroll - playoffs year 2 in NE including playoff win, playoffs year 3;
Then in Seattle, playoff win year 1 & year 3

Sean McVay - winning record first 3 years, playoffs year 1, Super Bowl appearance year 2

John Harbaugh - winning seasons and playoffs first 3 years, including AFC championship game year 1

Mike McDonald - 10-7 year 1; currently 4-2 year 2

Mike Tomlin, winning season yr 1 & playoff appearance, *Super Bowl win year 2, winning season year 3

Kevin O’Connell - 13 wins and playoffs appearance year 1, 14 wins and playoffs appearance year 3

The bolded are arguably either not big pluses or actual negatives.

Where did I use the word sabotaged? Doing the minimum vs heavily investing around a QB you're not sold on isn't as far fetched as you make it seem. And most of those names are doing the minimum. How many WR did we pass on the last 2 years? How many OL picks did he pass on? Adams and Tip? Really? Those are you cited sources thst hes not doing thr minimum?

Monti added two top 10 draft picks and three more day two picks last season to go along with the marquee free agent signing and extending his top two weapons. He also re-signed old man Kelvin Beachum to keep Christian Jones further down the bench.

That’s not doing the bare minimum. Literally everything Gannon and Monti have said publicly is that they believe in Kyler Murray. There’s just no basis for your narrative.

Never attribute to malice (or at least benign neglect) what can be explained by incompetence.

I don't believe Gannon ever wanted Kyler. I trust nothing out of his mouth, and his behavior as soon as he walked in the building screamed snake. (pew, pew, you're fast. etc.) He and his staff haven't helped him one iota, and if he's fired with no opportunity to coach HIS guy, it will be his legacy as a coach. Although I believe SOME team out there will buy his act.

Gotta give 98.7 some props as all of their guys seem to be out on Kyler, Petzing and leaning towards Gannon.
