I’ve been trying to do one of these open threads once a week, generally on off-days, but we don’t have an off-day this week. And we get to play the very hot Boston Red Sox this weekend.
Tonight’s game is one of those fun Apple TV games, because MLB will do anything for a dollar. It is amazing how baseball succeeds despite what the people running it do. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have Apple TV if it wasn’t for the MLB game. but there are some good shows on it.
People, that don’t really follow baseball tell me how the owners lose so much money, only the players make money on baseball. I generally just ask ‘Then why are franchise values continuing to go up.“ Generally, businesses that constantly lose money don’t sell for record amounts anytime one actually is available for sale. They seem to think people will paid billions for a business that loses money.
Beyond that….I haven’t seen the Odyssey yet. I want to, it is just hard to find the moment lately. And, I’m looking for something new to stream. I’ve started a couple of things, but they haven’t kept my attention.
It seems like it has been a bit of a down week. A friend (who I haven’t talked to enough recently) texted me saying that his wife was terminal and would be doing the Maid thing in September. Another friend has been in hospital for the last couple of months, which I didn’t know until recently.
Anyway, use the thread to discuss anything you would like. Has anyone here played Padel? Some friends have been talking about it, and it seems like a game I’d enjoy. I’m always looking for the next sport that will cause me injuries.
