So I thought the first two picks were chefs kiss A+. It took some balls to take Love at his cost but I feel like Monti might have finally picked his first pro bowler.

Beck seems like the coach pick It wasn't who I would pick but it's fine. Like a C.

The rest is pretty much whatever. I like the DT and the LB. Nothing stands out. Like a B-

So overall I give it a B+. First draft I am not mad at Monti. I don't see any crazy reaches or stupid choices like a blocking TE in round 3

Don’t worry we’ll be irrelevant by training camp. How well do you remember Jamyr Gibbs rookie year as a neutral?

The rumor mill going to be churning about Beck been our starter come training camp. 100% they will be talking about about how he game managed with good running game in Miami. Media so damn predictable at this pt.

Given his overall history drafting, and the fact it will take at least two years to evaluate this class, I’ll give it a C.

I’m pleased with picking Love and beefing up the O-Line in round two. I’m also in the minority that liked the Beck pick, given the stated of our QB room I like taking a 3rd rd flyer on a guy with lots of experience.

yep

Bijan Robinson too -- 214 carries / 976 yards / 4 tds

not bad stats considering he was splitting carries, but hardly hands down ROY stuff

btw: his QB was Desmond Ridder for most of the year -- so maybe a decent comp for the AZ situation

another way to look at it. Not a grade but a sense of what is valued.

Monti tends to value athleticism scores

finally. I know this is making 49er fans insane.

at least Monti waited until round 3 to start reaching, while John Lynch did it with their first pick of the draft.

49er fans do have 12 wins to fall back on

On the surface, I like most of the picks and was thinking B. But then I realized we didn't come away with a RT or EDGE, the two most needed positions. I know the stars weren't aligned for that. But still. No RT no EDGE. C.

I feel like this was his first draft with an actual plan. Not saying that will result in something good, but when he picked Love I assumed he would not be go Chase in the 2nd and would go Edge instead. We instead went IOL to give MLF help on the OL for his new RB and then a QB prospect in the 3rd, which give MLF a year to evaluate him. Then Proctor in the 4th could be interesting if they can add 15lbs to frame. Reggie Virgil could be a decent #3/#4 possession WR down the road. We replaced Greg Dortch/Zay Jones with Kendrick Bourne/Reggie Virgil. Yes, I think Reggie Virgil will out perform Zay Jones from last year.

I'm trying to talk myself into it but it's not going too well. I keep trying to trade down in my mind.

I was satisfied with the first two picks - the rest of the draft is mystifying.

I completely disagree. From a roster-building perspective this draft was a catastrophe. How does this fit in with the team Monti has been constructing the past three years?
