They turn every thread into that. Its because they have zero clue on the NFL in general.

im going off the assumption - scratch that - im going off faith something will be done today - i have faith that monti and gannon value their jobs and reputations

kurt warner knows mikey and our offense and kyler but he's not coming here and not just because he already has a sweet gig - we are a ish show

that's the rub - not only do we need to find a quality oc - we have to convince them everyone isn't getting fired at the end of the year - lol if you got the job would you buy a house or find a 1 year lease?

but this is monti's freakin job - he should have a list with several candidates at all times - he should have started checking in on them a couple weeks ago

"hey how's the fam" - "no reason for the call just wanted to see what you were up to" - "have you been watching the team?"

one thing i will say is with gannon being such a hands off coach - monti can atleast sell it that way

"it's your offense to do as you please" - "no interference" lol "he let the last guy do whatever he wanted"

anyways we need names - anybody know who our next oc will or should be? please try and keep it realistic- factoring in who we are and what they would have to leave to come here

This is an interesting question. Mid-season, you're not going outside the organization. I see three names internally.

My order of preference

1. Ben Steele - TE Coach
Pro - Best unit on offense. Has coached for 18 years, 12 in the NFL.
Con - Never called plays

2. Israel Woolfork - QB Coach
Pro - Knows Kyler and might be able to get the most out him. Unknown who would love to prove himself to earn the job full-time.
Con - Has been Kylers QB Coach for nearly 3 year now. Never called plays.

3. Drew Terrell - Passing Game Coordinator /WRs Coach
Pro - Has called plays. Signs of life from MHJ are starting to show. Always stiiing next to Kyler watching film on the sideline.
Con - Has been in charge of the passing game for 2 plus season and its regressed.

At this point I don't care who takes over mid-season. This season is lost with the amount of holes we have on this team.

I just can't watch this trash any longer with BPB calling this offense. It has been terrible for 2 straight seasons now.

Anyway there is only 3 guys if we are only talking right now which is totally dumb, but hey its your thread.

Again it doesn't matter which one at this point you can't change the whole offense right now. What these dudes can do is get rid of the 12 & 13 personnel sets and run a more WR pass oriented sets.

McDaniel will be fired this year or at the end so he is more than available to be talked about as a possible OC for next year. I would be up for keeping JG around as HC with McDaniel as his OC. I think that would be a fantstic combo.

The obvious answer is AI. Just sit on the sideline and ask it what play would you run?

There's going to be someone for sure but not obvious who right now. I keep seeing people say McDaniels if he gets fired if you watch Miami play their offense right now is so similar to ours it's scary, and they had TWO(now 1 with Hill hurt) deep threat speed Wr's and were still throwing sideways, checkdowns etc. He's probably better than Petzing but he's not a guy I would want long term

in the middle of the season, this is really the only realistic choice

I think the best we fans can hope for is a philosophical change -- more pass oriented, more aggressive overall in game situations


realistically -- if the team finished bottom 10 in offense, Gannon will have to find a new offensive staff to keep his job
