Having Peyton would improve our OL a lot

There seems to be this misconception that most teams who give up a lot of sacks do so because their OL sucks. The reality is that it is the QB. Take the Patriots as a case study. In 2007, they allowed 21 sacks on 586 attempts for a sack rate of 3.5%. In 2008, with Brady out for the...

2011 *possible* free agents of note

*DISCLAIMER* This list assumes that a new CBA will be in place and that it won't change the dynamics of free agency (it almost certainly will to some degree.) Many players will be left out because I personally don't see what they could bring to the Cards. Feel free to bring them up if you must...

What happened to the creativity, Whiz?

What happened to calling flea flickers and coming out to start the 3rd quarter and onside kicking? What happened to surprising the other teams D? I watch games and I can almost always tell if it's going to be a run or a pass as soon as the team lines up, and further I can usually tell which...

Why are we passing so much with Warner gone?

After 2 weeks we have 74 pass attempts, 34 rushing attempts. Now I know in week 2 we got behind early and that didn't help. But week 1 we had 41 passes to 21 runs. I don't understand why when you have a QB who doesn't have good chemistry with his WRs yet, an OLine that is filled with run...

    Rams safety Atogwea free agent

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5241584 One of their few talented players. Not that we have a spot for him now, but had we not got Rhodes I'd be saying :bhiich:. They probably re-sign him but I wouldn't be surprised to see a team with money and success signing him. Always nice when...

    Big Ben might get traded?

NFL network reporting Steelers are open to offers for Big Ben right now. This isn't meant as one of those "Cards should trade for ____ and get rid of Leinart" threads. More a question of where do you think Big Ben would make sense and what do you think it would take for Pitt to trade him. I...

    Be honest

Had we made Rolle and Dansby the highest paid players at their positions how many here would be screaming at Graves for overpaying them right now? If the cap does come back some day NYG and Miami will be screwed by these contracts. If the cap is gone for good the Cards are sadly going to...

    Our schedule strength

I just thought this was interesting, our opponents thus far are a combined 23-15 which is a 60.5% winning percentage. Our opponents in the rest of the games left combine for 21-42 for a 33.3% winning percentage. Note I counted the teams in our division twice in the math since we play them...

    Bill Davis

I haven't seen anyone mention him yet after this win. This guy has been a huge upgrade over Pendergast and was a major reason we won this game IMO. He played bump and run multiple times and sent the blitz even in pressure situations with the lead. Our tackling has been much better than I can...

Are the Rams worse than Detroit was last year?

So far just averaging 6 points per game, and allowing 27 per. 28th in total offense 29th in total defense. In the bottom 5 in almost every statistical category. At least last year the Lions scored every game, the Rams have been shut out twice in 4 games. If we don't kill these guys both times...

    OT-Kurt Warner

I am working on a project and am trying to collect some of the inspirational Kurt Warner stories. I'm not talking about his football stories, but his off the field actions. I was wondering if anyone knew anywhere I could find any or has any personal stories to share about his charity and...

    Wokciechowski eats crow.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=wojciechowski_gene&id=3848558&sportCat=nfl Pretty funny video. Kudos for him to owning up to his poor pick. Here's to hoping he picks against us again, since he is always wrong as he points out.

    Victory Cigar?

You can make a case for Warner, Fitz, AW and many others as MVP this game, but my vote goes to the 12th man. Everyone in AZ, even the bandwagon fans, earned this win. That was the loudest I have ever heard an NFL stadium be, and I didn't see a single green jersey. I wish I could have made the game.

    Emmitt and Hodge pick Cards!

Said our home field advantage, Boldin playing and our D will be too much for Eagles to overcome. Both said the Thanksgiving game was irrelevant, and Warner and our WRs are more effective than McNabb and Eagles WRs.

First team to clinch Division title

The earliest we can clinch is week 12, if we win the next three, and no one in our division wins more than one game over that period. The Titans can clinch by week 11, if they win the next two and the Colts lose the next two.

New NFL rules for this year explained

    Remaining free agents to consider

RB: Derrick Ward, Chris Brown? WR: Drew Carter, Samie Parker, (Bryant Johnson?) OL: L.J. Shelton? Milford Brown? (They are the best ones I can find under the age of 35) DL: Kim Von Oelhoffen (only because of the Whisenhunt/Grimm connection) There were some good 4-3 DL but I don't know for sure...

    Fitz's value?

If this contract issue can't be worked out, what do you think Fitz value is approximately? I'm gonna have my starting point be what the Raiders gave for Moss in 2005. A top 10 pick and a starting caliber player. Granted that trade didn't work out well for either team, but I think that is fair...

    Would you rather

Would you rather use this draft and free agency more on defense or offense? It seems the big free agent favorite is Faneca, and the RBs are high on many people's draft wish lists. Yet our defense appeared to be the bigger weakness down the stretch.

    Best case scenario?

Let's see everyones best draft/free agency combo that is actually feasible. Mine: Resign Pace ($4 million cap hit), Hodel($500K) Tag Dansby ($8.065 million), 2nd round tender to Green, Brown, and Smith ($3.9 Mill total), low tender to Urban and Blackstock ($1.7 Mill total) ERFA tender to...
