I havent seen the movie yet, but just looking at the soundtrack

1. "Mr. Blue Sky" Electric Light Orchestra 5:03
2. "Fox on the Run" Sweet 3:25
3. "Lake Shore Drive" Aliotta Haynes Jeremiah 3:49
4. "The Chain" Fleetwood Mac 4:27
5. "Bring It On Home to Me" Sam Cooke 2:43
6. "Southern Nights" Glen Campbell 2:57
7. "My Sweet Lord" George Harrison 4:37
8. "Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" Looking Glass 3:03
9. "Come a Little Bit Closer" Jay and the Americans 2:46
10. "Wham Bam Shang-A-Lang" Silver 3:32
11. "Surrender" Cheap Trick 4:14
12. "Father and Son" Cat Stevens 3:39
13. "Flash Light" Parliament 4:28
14. "Guardians Inferno" The Sneepers featuring David Hasselhoff

Not impressed. Alot of country. That had to be intentional. The original was more rock/pop oriented.

"Surrender" is probably the best song on there.
George Harrison "My Sweet Lord" is a great song
Sam Cooke "Bring it on home to me" is another good one.

meh, thats it.

Fox on the Run is one of the most underrated songs of the 70s.

Shut your mouths. Brandy is a great song!
Not just Brandy, there's a lot of entertaining music here. It's just a little lacking in tempo and power especially when compared to the first movie's soundtrack.

Exactly Brandy is a great song and I grew up with it, but for a action packed movie, I was hoping for more up beat songs, not slow love songs. ;)

The volume 1 sound track kills the volume 2 sound track by a galaxy! :)

You don't listen to much country Huh cause that ain't country

country isnt just tractors and rednecks.

Its a vibe. For instance the first minute of 'The Chain' is very country. It turns to rock only once you get to the chorus.

But it's purposeful. I think most of you miss the juxtaposition of the mellow songs with the uptempo action.

You just didn't get it.

Why would you think I don't get it with the song Brandy? Cause I didn't think the movie had many upbeat songs in it? I did watch the movie and I know that song is a major part of the movie, but the over all soundtrack wasn't what I excepted. I was thinking it would be more of the same up tempo songs the first movie had.

Trust me I know I listen to country and grew up on it.

Anyway I liked the music for this movie it's a different movie than the first. This one is much more about getting to know the guardians more

George Jones, Merle Haggard, & Conway Twitty are pure country. Glen Campbell was more pop. Nothing on that soundtrack was country.

The music choice reflects the back story of star lord. It's purposefully mismatched and creates a somewhat disorienting combination of stimuli which was purposeful. Trust me they knew exactly what they were doing. Just because all action movies have fast paced musical accompaniment doesn't mean you have to do that to achieve your goal.

Like I said, I get that but I wish they put in a more up beat sound track like the first one. Didn't effect the movie at all for me, but was looking forward to a similar sound track.

But if they did that, they would have sacrificed the tone of the movie. I'd rather have the music doing the job of building the story and character as they designed, than have a more upbeat sound track to bop out to. It would have been a worse movie for me.

Licensing fees were probably a lot more expensive based on how well the first movie did.

Ok, I just watched this a second time and made sure to really hone into the music. I was so wrong. Every song was perfect and played into the scene flawlessly! The songs did have the perfect beat. I guess I just wasn't paying that much attention to it the first time around.
