They can still trade him if they pay off a good portion of his guarantees, or restructure his contract and convert guarantee into singing bonus.
Maybe, even though K1 doesn't have a no trade clause he will have to basically agree he wants to go somewhere.

I don't think the Cards are in the drivers seat for this but we will see.

They have to trade him now there is no keeping him or going back to him if JB falters this season.

What would be the point of this? Even if they convert all of the guaranteed salary to bonus, they’re not getting anything of value for him.

In kylers best interest to get traded...that way his current contract stays valid.
If he gets cut he will get a fat check...sure...
But it won't make up for nobody in the league willing to pay him more than 10mil a year...
Guarantee there is more money left on that deal than he will ever see if he has to get a fresh contract
Daniel Jones got a 1 year, $14 million deal from the Colts. Sam Darnold got a 3 year $100 million deal after 1 good season in Minnesota. Kyler probably get a 2 year $40 million deal. Something in between those two.

Jones is absolutely getting franchised to see if its lightning in a bottle. To franchise a QB is soooo much cheaper compared to other spots now. $40-$42 million for the season.

I see the position...just think those guys bring a lot that kyler doesnt...his best asset may be the fact that he is younger than those guys were.
I can see the "prove it" deal....sure,..but the thing is, I just cant see kyler actually "Proving" anything and earning a good contract.
I think he gets one or two seasons on prove it deals, then the rest of his career is as a backup if he wants to keep playing.

That's why I think he only gets a 2 year deal that they could get out of after 1 year with minimal cap impact. I see Pittsburgh doing this for some strange reason.

I could see Pitt as a likely spot...might be a good pairing with the HC...
It would be good for Stout...getting to watch all the steelers fans suffer through the murray frustration.

I dont really have any ideas on where he might fit... but I do think looking anywhere near New York City would be a huge mistake on the part of his agent.

I have always had a thought in the back of my mind that kyler was gonna end up in dallas... just cant see how unless we swap kyler for Dak...

I see Miami as a possibility too. 17 games between Tua and Kyler!

The problem with all this is, I generally make plans to go to Cancún for the draft. I'm undecided as to what to do. Is the airline situation more stable? Or Kyler situation more stable? I dunno... I should prolly go hoping for a right tackle pick.

Good point - Murray is 63 days younger than Darnold and 72 days younger than Jones! ;)

I see several posts where it says Michael isn't going to pay him to not play. Well he's doing it now isn't he? Kyler's getting paid to not play right now. I don't know if his contract included any incentives for playing time or game day bonuses.

It did but Kyler is injured.

I don’t think it’s easy to decide to pay Kyler not to play for the club.

me thinks mikey will eventually release murray - me thinks if mikey wants to save money he will negotiate with kyler's agent using kyler's release date as leverage - if the agent agrees to a lower severance package mikey could release kyler earlier - like later this year when he's "healthy" lol - me thinks it could all happen that fast - no draft compensation at all but if the release is as inevitable as i think it is that's how i'd roll - it allows murray to pick his next destination - he could even stay patient (lol) and wait for the right destination - kyler could be in the playoffs this year

Hearing some football nerds talk about the upcoming class, there might be more of a market than we realize. I've heard this class described as a class "full of Spencer Rattlers". A bunch of guys with early draft hype who have stunk and completely tanked their draft capital. The #1 guy in Mendoza is being compared to Kenny Pickett.

I would not not continue to listen to them.

Are there any QBs you're hyped for in this class? I know I'm not great at QB eval but its hard to get excited about guys like Simpson or Mendoza. Like those are two players I can't imagine ever being as good as say, Goff.

Not sure the NFLPA would go for that.
