Remember the Cardinals have not said they are moving on from KM. The media and us are the only ones that have assumed that.
They may very well intend to start him again after he recovers, and keep him as the starter next season.

Now Atlanta can be added to the list of teams that might be searching for another qb this offseason. There might be demand for Murray after all...

The STL Cards just traded Sonny Gray to the Red Sox. I thought the return may be useful info even though MLB has no salary cap. Despite some opinions the Cards return would be limited due to Gray’s high salary, the Cards return was increased by them paying off some of that salary. In fact the Cards got mostly “A” grades by acquiring two top pitching options. There are several ways to do that in the NFL, like converting salary to bonus and then that team paying the bonus. Were the Cards to do that they might yet get that first year pick.

Love the Redbirds and I get your point on salary.

Gray is also 36
There are only 32 starting QB's in the NFL - there are many more Sonny Gray's in MLB. :)

What is the salary level where Kyler Murray becomes attractive to some team? Daniel Jones is on a one-year, $14 million deal with Indy. But they didn’t have to give up a pick for him.

Mac Jones signed a two-year, $7 million deal to get to San Fran as a backup. They didn’t have to give up a pick to get him.
