I Kyler and his agent would prefer the trade aspect vs release. If traded Kyler has a 35 mil salary for 2026 and 19.5 guaranteed for 2027.
Kyler is getting $35mm even if he is released.

so its really about:

Does he want $19mm no matter how he plays in 2026 should he be traded; or

Does he think he can get more than $19mm in 2027 / beyond on the open market after proving himself in 2026 with a team he has a say in picking.

I am sure the Kyler camp has a view that the Cardinals failed in putting an adequate offense around him, and that moving to a better situation would allow him to play at a much higher level. They aren't 100% wrong on that.

A team trading for him likely has plans for him in 2026 and 2027 at least.
Teams can look at Kyler in one of two ways:

1. A low cost flyer on a QB still in his prime. Has shown stretches of excellence and stretches of bad. IF he works like Daniel Jones, great. If not, they move on after 2026 with a manageable cap hit.

2. A QB they will commit to for beyond 2026.

Kylers camp doesnt want teams in bucket 1.

This probably solves itself as teams in bucket 2 probably offer the best trade compensation / take on more of the $35mm guarantee in 2026

Yes but I don’t think team 2 actually exists

Would not surprise me to see Kyler traded for a 6 or 7th round pick swap. So they get Kyler and a lower 6 or 7th and we get rid of Kyler and a better 6 or 7th rounder.

Or we just trade him and a pick and get nothing in return. Kind of like the brock osweiler trade.

If he doesn't play again, which I think is the case, I expect like a 3rd and a 5th. If we are willing to eat a lot of the contract, that goes a bit higher, but I doubt we will do so.

If he DOES play again, and is a little frisky, as he tends to be during his brief periods of health and motivation, then he could up his value drastically. But... I think we've shut him down

These are just my opinions on this list.

The Rams wouldn't sniff Murray, there is no way McVay would entertain Murray as his QB especially when his offense is pocket QB based.

I still don't see the Browns even considering a QB either through the draft or trade.

The Titans are not going to give up on Ward after one season no matter who is the HC.

I think the Colts would be more interested in adding more weapons especially WR more than a QB.

As for the Dolphins, would Murray be any better than what they have now in Tua unless they just want to move on from Tua.

The rest of them are in play. I think the Jets and Saints would be the front runners in terms of interest. The Raiders only because their ownership is crazy enough to pull a move like trading for Murray. Smith was tough as nails last night with the pounding he took. Murray would have stayed in a fetal position on the field.
Agree with all this except the raiders. Pete played Kyler a lot. He wouldn’t want him.

he has Chip Kelley as the OC. It would take an out of the box OC to believe that he has the system to get the most out of Kyler

Pete also made Russell Wilson work -- by keeping him on a tight leash, leaning on Marshawn Lynch and throwing deep

not saying its a sure thing -- but there are some elements there to make it plausible

draft compensation in a trade will be in direct proportion to how much of Kylers $36mm guarantee Mike eats

it raises a philosophical question -- whats more valuable?

a 2nd round pick and no incremental 2026 cap space; or

a 5th round pick and $20mm in incremental 2026 cap space

Mikey will have to pay at least half of that $36M, and KM will have to restructure his contract. You can bet KM will make it very difficult to trade him to a crap team like the Jets, or Browns.

the more I think about it -- Murray's camp will greatly prefer being cut to traded. This could lead to them sabotaging any trade. At the minimum, only "approving" a trade to a team he prefers.

they want to pick where Kyler goes to maximize the chances he goes to a team that will truly commit to him vs a team taking a one year rehab flyer.

This of course assumes that there is a team ready to truly commit to him.
He has no right of approval. He goes where they trade him or forfeits salary.
