I'm team 5th, wouldnt be surprised if its less. Other discarded QBs that got a 3rd+ were way younger than Kyler.

There's no single answer here because it depends on how much on Kyler's contract they are willing to keep.

It's a poor offseason for QB too. There are a bunch of teams in need and very few decent options. That's going to make some teams desperate.

There's a world where the Cards keep a some of the money and get a 2nd. The Cowboys 2nd that the Jets just got in the Q trade, for example. I think that's the peak if all things fall our way. Jets are desperate, talk themselves out of Kyler's obvious issues, Kyler is happy to go etc. The "stars align" option.

I think his base value with the contract he has, having a poor season and getting shadow benched for Jacoby is a 5th. That's the mid option.

But there's also a world where there's too much stink on him, the market is flat, and the we give him away. Russ had a much greater pedigree but had to be cut after 2 years in Denver.

It's a lottery really, but I think the best bet is a 4th/5th with his full contract.

Some of you are underestimating K1's value

There are several QB needy/desperate teams.

I think he could get a 1st round pick but most likely a 2nd round pick.
He is too talented/teams will think they can fix him and there are not many options out there for 2026.

We gave a 1st and 3rd round pick for Hollywood Brown - there are other dumb teams out there.

This, exactly.
I was just going back to look at some recent trades. Guys like Same Howell got traded recently for a 5th & 7th.
If people are saying Kyler is only worth a 5th, they aren't paying much attention.

Teams that could at least call Monty just to chat:

Raiders
Jets
Dolphins
Browns
Colts (if Dimes flames out down the stretch)
Titans (if new regime wants fresh start)
Saints
Rams (if Stafford retires and suffers injury)

2nd rd, if Cards pay a fair amount on his contract
6th or 7th, if the Cards don't pay anything

Raiders, Jets, Saints and Browns are the only teams dumb enough to make deal for him, IMO and it will depend on where each ends up in the draft.

All those backup guys were free. Players with big contracts don't usually get a lot of return. Aaron Rodgers was cut, Baker Mayfield was cut, Daniel Jones was cut, year 7 Darnold hit free agency, Mac Jones got a 6th, Justin Fields (much younger) got a conditional 6th. Kyler is not viewed as being much better than any of these guys.

I don't think anyone will be willing to trade anything for him given that we are giving up on him as a still young QB and the contract he has.
Yeah sadly I'm expecting a release rather than compensation. Teams are just frugal like that and will call your bluff if they know we don't plan on bringing him back. I was stunned we got nothing back for Hopkins.

I don't think it's that big.

If Raiders are in the market that means Geno is in play for one of the others.

Brows depends if they change HC. If they stick with him Kyler has shown he can't run that offense.

Saints are in cap hell. They aren't taking on Kyler's salary.

Titans, Colts and Rams won't be in. I don't see why the Fins would want to swap Tua for shorter Tua.

I think the most realistic options are the Jets, Steelers (if Rodgers retires) and maybe the Raiders, but only if Carroll is out.

People have forgot about Deshaun Watson too. Odds are the Brown's try to get out of that deal. If he's available and sorted hilself out he's another option for someone.

Watson is even worse than KM.

Bro Cam Ward is already better than Kyler.

“It only takes one team” hopium loose again.

Let's not get carried away. On any QB graph Cam Ward is way in the bottom left on his own.

Agree with it all up to the last sentence. I can't see anyone wanting Watson as a starter after multiple horrible seasons and two blown Achilles, nor why he'd want to come out of the media shadows to be a backup somewhere after pocketing $300M in his career.

It's a weak market. Not enough chairs for bums. If the Brown's cut him I think teams will kick the tyres and try him out.

Watson was great, if he can put his mental issues behind him I don't think he's forgot how to play QB.

He’s obviously forgotten to how to play QB. He’s played in 19 games SINCE 2020. He hasn’t passed for more yards with the Browns than he did in just 2019 with the Texans. His QBR last year was 24.

Jameis Winston is more likely to get a starting job than Deshaun Watson.

That’s all well and good but watch him play and you’re not going to see Josh Rosen. He was basically dropped into the worst situation imaginable and it’s only gotten worse since.
