Sounds way more believable than the other poster here that said his buddy's friend who is supposedly an insider said Kyler would be traded to the Jets for a 6th round pick. I really hope the Raiders are stupid enough to think there would be any success with Kyler to Bowers when Kyler couldn't even take advantage of having McBride the past few years.

Yes, I'm sure Trey, who is now the second-highest-paid Tight End in NFL history, thinks KM held him back.

Is the team that acquired Howell paying him $80 million over the next two years? Because that's about what the team that acquires Murray will be doing.

It's not that I think Kyler has no value relative to a late round draft pick. It's that I don't think any team will think enough of him to pay him $80M over the next two years to find out if they can build a contender around him after we give up on doing that.
but they wont. all that bonus money has already been paid...pretty sure the buying team is only on the hook for about 20mil a year, which is a bargain in todays nfl

If a trade partner were to emerge, the financial burden would decrease significantly for Arizona, as the dead cap would drop to $17.9 million. However, this would require a team taking on the following contract:

2026: $42.535M ($39.8M guaranteed)
2027: $36.335M ($19.5M guaranteed)
2028: $46.35M (non-guaranteed)

That is almost entirely incorrect.

Plus future roster bonuses. They don’t accelerate. Plus believe it or not, Murray’s salary for 2028 is $34 mil

If he is as good as some on here think, we will get two 1st round picks and a 2nd.

If he is as bad as some think, nothing we will cut him.

I lean towards the latter, but I hope I trade him and get something. Anything.

According to the Ian Rapoport article the best thing financially for Murray is being cut by the Cardinals. I'm sure his agent knows that and may not be very cooperative on working out a trade where he loses any money at all. Hope I'm wrong on this.

They can still trade him in the offseason I assume the market will be better then as teams have a clearer vision of what they need for the year, a better read on the draft prospects, Murray is healthy and would get a full offseason before being put on the field.

In kylers best interest to get traded...that way his current contract stays valid.
If he gets cut he will get a fat check...sure...
But it won't make up for nobody in the league willing to pay him more than 10mil a year...
Guarantee there is more money left on that deal than he will ever see if he has to get a fresh contract

I voted 6th. Just because I feel someone might want to secure him without having to compete with other teams for top free agent QB money.

Despite the albatross of a contract he's under, it might end up costing more or for years for a buying team in free agency.

I think Murray will be viewed as a rehab gamble -- hoping for the Darnold or Daniel Jones

if a team trades for him and the Cards buy down most of the 2026 salary, then they get an upside project for a cheap 2026 salary and a manageable 2027 guarantee.

if he plays well - you have a QB under control for two more years at affordable starting QB cap numbers. IF he doesn't, you take a $19mm 2027 cap hit

from Kylers view: they would HATE a trade. They know the next job is his last real chance -- so they want to negotiate a contract fresh that doesnt make it so easy for a team to move off him after just one season.

Good point, I missed thinking that in my post.

Horse hockey. Bidwill doesn’t care what’s good for Murray. He’s got plenty of good Bidwill money per win to keep him happy!

And no team is going to do that knowing that AZ has to pay him big if they don't cut him prior to the deadline.

This is simple, the time to trade K1 was this season before the deadline.

Cards blast themsleves in the face again with a double barrel shotgun.

They can still trade him if they pay off a good portion of his guarantees, or restructure his contract and convert guarantee into singing bonus.

Yup. Rapoport says Kyler’s contract has offset language meaning he can’t double-dip. He won’t get more than he’s getting from the Cards in 2026; he’ll likely get more in 2027 than what the Cards can guarantee.

Huge bummer.

It’s not. It’s in Kyler’s best interest to go to a team with a great QB coach/system and have like 80 good passing attempts as a backup and go into free agency in 2027 as a “fixed” veteran.

Murray’s ego will push him to a team he believes has the offensive weapons and the Oline he needs. He’s isn’t as worried about the defense and winning.
