Hate to say it but as I recall nobody was renting sky writers to celebrate when we signed Warner.
Kurt got wrongly benched in NY while Bulger was looking good in STL. His value was plummeting before we got him. He was signed to compete with McCown IIRC.

Yes. This fan base was not blowing off fireworks with his signing.
Brissett is going to start the season next year. What this franchise does regarding Mo, JG, the coaching staff and adding to this roster will determine how effective Brissett can be.
An improved o-line, rb room and a true speed receiver should help.
I also believe we are going to draft a QBOTF. How soon he will play will depend on the results of all the above. If we start out 2-6 our QBOTF will be starting by mid season.

The closed ranks in the locker room, even with the QB controversy, impresses me a little.

Part of that is because, no matter what, the coaches don't throw the players under the bus.

Gannon is on his way to finishing with the same record as Steve Wilks’ only season here despite having significantly more talent.
And three to build the program.
And, despite their shortcomings, much better QBs than the rotting corpse of Bradford and Rosen.

On the other hand, the team's current point differential of -38 projects to -51 over 16 games, whereas that horrific Wilks team managed -200 (225 PF vs 424 PA). Oof!

(Which reminds me of when the 2003 McGinnis team managed to get doubled up, 224-452!)

Guess it could be worse! :bang:

Wilks got fired because that team was utterly non competitive.

Gannon could save his job if the fan base doesn’t completely turn on him. I said it at the beginning of the season and I still believe it: results of games decided by 7 point or less are random.

KC won like 12 games last year that were decided by a score. This season they can’t get a break and are like 1-6. Did Andy Reid forget how to coach?

I talked to Jess Root today and his feeling is they will make Petzing and Kyler the scapegoats and keep everything else in place. As he pointed out, Petzing is in the last year of his deal so that is nothing significant. They are going to try and pump up Brissett as the next Palmer.

He also called this season "the biggest clown show" he has ever seen covering the Cardinals.

Selling a never will be Brisset as the next has been great could be again Palmer is just the kind of BS I expect from Bidwill after his DOMINANT take on BJ Ojulari when asked why we were sitting on 30 million dollars in cap room instead of adding to the edge room/pass rush… which somehow got WORSE this year despite adding Calais Campbell and Josh Sweat this season.

That is a bold statement when covering a circus of an operation - what does he mean exactly? because the final season of Kliff/Keim seemed much worse than this one.
Idk, didn't have time to ask him the details as we were both in a hurry. It was a surprising statement which was why I shared it. It's been a crap show for sure, but worse than Wilkes? Worse than boozy Keim and that fiasco with the oline coach in Mexico City?

The team will probably end up going 2-10 with Brissett. How can Murray be a scapegoat if the team is that bad without him? :help:

Yeah we’re either going 2-10 or 1-11 with Brissett.

I understand many are ready to move on from K1, but if teams call our bluff thinking we’re going to cut him no matter what, thus leading to low ball offers (that is if teams make any offers at all), I think they do have to consider bringing him back at least for 1 more year, even if it’s to make cutting him for the 2027 season more affordable.

Shockingly to me, many here still want to keep Gannon, but logically I think his best chance of winning games next year is still with K1. (They aren’t winning games with Brissett or a rookie). So for those who are in favor of keeping Gannon, really you should be rooting for K1 to return as well because the alternatives are bleak for JG.
