You can never be too loyal and the Niners have not had the shear number of injuries that the Cardinals have had. And I’m not sure why you’re comparing the Cardinals to a franchise like the Niners that are an established winning franchise. Earlier in his career, Shanahan had a couple of ugly seasons when his teams was decimated with injuries & you didn’t see the Niners losing faith in what he could accomplish. You will never develop a winning franchise if you keep firing your coaches every 3-4 years. If this team were healthy & losing, that’s one thing. They have been devastated by injury. More so than any team in the NFL. And it’s not even close. Have mistakes been made? Absolutely. But mistakes are made by great teams too. I believe our OL coach should be relieved of his duties because our OL performed significantly better the last 2 years with the same personnel. Gannon’s first year was a complete tear down and rebuild & that’s what Bidwill wanted. Year 2, we were better, we beat the teams we were supposed to, and lost to teams that had more talent than us. And this year has been totally devastated with injuries on both sides of the ball and special teams. Bidwill would be a fool to fire JG after this year. There’s too much that’s still unknown. After next year, anything and everything is on the line. But, this franchise cannot afford another start over.
Patently false. In yesterday's game, it was revealed the Whiners are #3 in games lost to injury. The Cards were right behind them at #4, but puts paid to this comment. The truth doesn't fit your narrative.

I get that you need to have hope and clutch onto every single coach and GM, but history should tell you how that works out. Remember your Keim loyalty? A little introspection would help a lot, brother.

I was at the game and put my binoculars on Gannon several times especially after the Cards got 17 penalties. He never complained to the refs just stood there with his arms folded. He never throws a red flag. In his post game presser always says he needs to coach better and its on him. He just seems to accept mediocracy from his players and coaches. Vary frustrating going to the games.

Shanahan was 13-3 his third season. They went to the Super Bowl.

I don't blame Gannon for the record. How could I? I think Kyler is an ass QB and he's been saddled with him (and 9 games of Josh Dobbs). I am firmly in the camp of it's hard to win NFL games without a top 20 QB. Top 15 really. Generally speaking the quality of your QB is going to dictate how your team performs. If you have a bottom 10 QB then you're likely picking top 10 in the draft.

However, before the recent run I thought Gannon had done a good job with the culture and getting the best (generally) out of what he had to work with. Last years defense, for example, outperformed it's talent.

In recent game, and especially yesterday, I felt the opposite. The penalty debacle, the defensive performance, and various other things felt like a big step backwards in culture and coaching. I think Jacoby is playing well enough to win games, the QB excuse is gone.

But I'd only replace him if a clearly better coach was on the market. Starting again with a coin flip coordinator isn;t the way to go (yet).

We lost the early games BECAUSE OF THE COACHING STAFF.

We should have been 4-1 at worst if we had a competent coaching staff

I think Kyzir White is on the Titans practice squad, maybe Monti should call him up?
This is why I don't want to stick with Monti and/or coaching staff, not trying to win, but trying to roster a team based on solely their drafts and the once a year shopping they do.

Other than Coryell, Hanifan and Arians has anyone ever had a HC job after they were the HC for the Big Red? I cant think of anyone else. The Big Red is where HCs go to die. Gannon should have never taken the job especially if he was handcuffed to Murray. This was an unavoidable train wreck. Gannon should have gotten better career advice or followed the advice to steer clear if anyone said that to him. Even if Bidwill was willing to pay a third HC who would take the job knowing the franchise history?
Stallings at Alabama. And they’re kind of like a pro program.

but my gut tells me the utter collapse on defense has to do with going from Mack Wilson to Cody Simon, especially considering where most of the holes were.
SEA was moving the ball very effectively when Mack was in there

this is an entire defense problem

I’d only replace him if Monti is following him out the door. I’d rather endure one more year of this than three more.

I think they will be here at least 1 more year. The problem is, if Mike is going to let Monti draft a QB you really have to commit to that. Letting him draft a QB then fire everyone after a year would likely be a mistake.

Do my eyes deceive me?

You usually wait until they’re fired.

Criticizing them while still being employed? This is new.

Nah, we lost them because of Kyler's putrid performances, but I guess the staff could have dropped him sooner.
Yes, Kyler caused Demarcado to drop the ball just before a game ceiling touchdown

Yes, Kyler caused Rallis to not blitz input pressure on rookie quarterbacks

For me drafting a QB doesn’t reset the clock on the rebuild. Bo Nix is 19-9 as a starting QB. Drake Maye is an MVP candidate. If you miss on the QB prospect you just have to move on otherwise you’re the Panthers.

As most know I am in St Louis and years ago Rams coached by Dick Vermeil were terrible on offense. Season ticket holders were actually putting their tickets on windshields of cars just to give away for free. Vermeil was reluctant to change OC and DC. Ownership forced his hand and told him it needed to be done or he was going to be fired. He changed both. Brought in Mike Martz OC and Lovie Smith DC and replaced the QB (Trent Green and Kurt Warner) and drafted Orlando Pace with the first pick to shore up the OLINE. Struck lightening with Kurt Warner when Green was injured. went to 2 Super Bowls. So not the same but definitely need a change of OC and other coaches.
