If you bring him back you’ll also have to give him an extension. No one comes here with a lame duck coach so there is the added issue of tacking on more money when you aren’t sure. If you’re not 100% confident of the direction after year 3 you gotta change. Not sure about monti though.

Ossenfort is the real architect of the crap so he has to go.

As far as MO, JG, DP, and NR, do all their contracts expire after the 2026 season?

I think our situation with head coach and GM is somewhat similar to the Giants and Daboll last year. Both got hired in 2022. Except Daboll actually had success and made the playoffs his first season and was coach of the year in 2022. Year 3, they go 3-14, and keep both Daboll and the GM.

Year 4? They just fired Daboll and they have won only 2 games. But they are keeping the GM to get the new coach. Lots of GMs seem to get two cracks at a head coach if they get along with the owner.

I hope we don't make the same mistake the Giants made last year. I think they literally wasted a year hoping against all reason Daboll would turn it around.

I have been advocating for a complete reset: GM, HC, etc

We do not want Monti picking both the next QB and next HC. It would put progress on hold for another 2-3 years.

The roster is a problem after three years of rebuilding. The coaching staff seems to have lost 100% of its effectiveness from last year.

JG took the job with Kyler as QB1
Kyler’s 3 losses this year were by a combined total of 5 points.. 2 of those opponents we played over the past 2 weeks and lost by a combined total of 41 points.

Zay Jones makes a routine NFL catch we beat SF. ED makes a routine catch for a TD, we beat SF.

This regime sucks and Kyler is a terrible fit for it.. and may suck under a different regime - but it was a lot better than BBQ throwing 50 times in a game… unless you like garbage stats.

Never in my life have I ever seen a HC & DC rush ZERO guys on a pass play like the clowns (JG & Rallis) did late before the half!!! And they did it 2 consecutive plays!!!

Fire their incompetent, passive & conservative sorry asses ASAP!!!
I actually loved the plays. There was 5 seconds and it surprised Purdy. Almost wasted the full 5 seconds.

The Rams really about to receive a top 5 pick

Meanwhile, we got awarded the 24th pick & drafted a DE that should’ve been a 4th rounder at best

We are so behind everyone else in the division it’s insane

Yup. Just said earlier this week that Gannon’s the deadest man walking since Brian Daboll. This GM was too stupid/short-sighted to realize last year was the year to bail on Kyler and I fear he’s going to do the same with Gannon.

And the reality is Monti’s ass should be gone as well.

I understand the reluctance to switch regimes and Michael paying too many coaches at once, but this is getting really bad. 7 losses in the last 8 games and 0-4 in the division are fireable offenses for 90% of teams. That's without factoring in getting outscored 85-44 in the last two games against divisional opponents.

Seriously, what are we doing here?

Not sure you can blame the coaching for the crazy number of injuries and the bs officiating today. So, for me, I do want JG & Monti back next year. Without a doubt I do. Cardinals are still playing hard without quitting. Every time we got close, the officiating shut the door on us.
You are too loyal my friend. SF has played most of their games without their star players including:

-Starting Pro Bowl QB
-Pro Bowl & Defensive Player of the year DE
-Top WRs (Aiyuk & Pearsall)
-Pro Bowl TE
-Pro Bowl LB

They’ve been decimated and are 7-4…There are no excuses for this regime.

And when did “playing hard” mean anything? Every team plays hard as players are playing for their own future.

It’s easy to want to “clean house” when things are bad. But what good Coach is taking over a team with zero roadmap at QB and a history of poor ownership/support? Our shopping aisle is another up and comer DC or the 4th or 5th choice offensive assistant of this coaching cycle.

They could definitely target a college coach. But yeah I can’t imagine they’d be at the top of any candidates list…Yet they can’t in good faith bring back JG. He’s not even competitive anymore.

Gannon is currently sporting a 3-13 record against the NFCW with 2 games against the division leading Rams still remaining this season.

If this team goes 0-6 in the division, as I suspect they will, for the second time in Gannon’s 3 years here, he needs to be the first guy ishcanned on black Monday.

That record inside the NFC West as it stands now alone is more than a fireable offense. He’s clearly the worst coach in the division by leaps and bounds.

Other than Coryell, Hanifan and Arians has anyone ever had a HC job after they were the HC for the Big Red? I cant think of anyone else. The Big Red is where HCs go to die. Gannon should have never taken the job especially if he was handcuffed to Murray. This was an unavoidable train wreck. Gannon should have gotten better career advice or followed the advice to steer clear if anyone said that to him. Even if Bidwill was willing to pay a third HC who would take the job knowing the franchise history?
