McDaniel all day long for OC

If Gannon isn't willing to fire Petzing outright, it would make sense to bring McDaniel in as an "offensive consultant" as soon as he's available, and potentially transition to him as O.C. next season.

It doesn't sound like a sophisticated pass game. Most OCs have an idea of what a defense is going to do vs certain looks, and they know what the QB should be doing when he sees it. There are ways to get/keep certain players involved throughout a game. In the modern NFL, most defenses aren't very sophisticated between the 30s.
Drew Petzing's offense makes Dick Tomey's look like Air Coryell.

Ben Allbright said there is no way JG is getting fired.

Keep an eye on Wes Phillips (Vikings), Arthur Smith or Kevin Stefanski as potential OC candidates if things dont turn around for Drew.

Kyler gone as well if things dont get better.

No thanks on the last two.

I’m not even absolving Kyler, but what’s the point of an OC, than?

The obvious. The OC draws up the plays with intention, decides what is called when etc etc

If the QB is just throwing the ball where the OC says then why not put Andy Dalton back there? Why does Kurt Warner say that his superpower was being able to read defenses and process post snap?

You think if Drew calls a play where the 1st read is Marv on a go but Marv has a safety sap over the op of him and press man that it should still be the first read?

The play has intended reads, but if what Kyler sees on the field suggests those reads won't work, or other reads are better options, he's absolutely supposed to change them. That's literally his job.

Why would we want Stefanski as oc when Petzing is heavily influenced by Stefanski?

JG's record would be 13-17 if you exclude the first 9 games of the 2023 season when Murray was out with his acl injury.

He does also have the worst QB of all those teams.

Kind of seems moot if the QB could change up the intended play every play if he believes it’s the wrong decision.

I feel like this post helps me. Since Warner had this superpower, did he really need a guy that was a mere mortal in comparison?

Again, if the QB has to audible/change the route, what was the point of that call by the OC?

This pretty much just goes back to my first statement.

I read your point & it just comes off as if someone & I are looking for a car, that person likes the look of the car just like I do, but I’m the one buying it, taking care outside & inside of it, paying gas, etc.

Reading your posts, it just seems like the OC is a glorified cheerleading job at the end of the day.

Wait. You think all QB's in the league are just throwing the intended progression no matter what the defense is doing? EVen though the defense line sup after the play call is in?

So if they play is called to go to Marv as first read, but Kyler can see he's double covered, but he can see Trey is going to be open quickly for a 10 yard gain on his route because the linebacker is narrow, then the QB shouldn't be changing his reads?

I mean, this is basic QB stuff. If you think Kyler should just throw the built in progressions no matter what then I don't know what to say. It's obvious nonsense.

I didn’t say this & you know I didn’t say this. Why are you arguing against an invisible point? C’mon.

Read the statement above.

Of course you didn’t know what to say, you just wasted a bunch of text arguing against a point you know I didn’t make.

How did 5 others understood what I said, but not you?

You are arguing this like modern defenses play to not give up a single yard. So much of the league plays very soft and/or safe until teams start getting into scoring range. There are easy opportunities to predict the look a defense is going to give you in those moments and have a very good idea of where your QB is going to go with the ball.
