Still waiting for BPB to be fired.

Is this organization going to ride the whole season with two dudes that have admitted that neither know what they are doing offensively?

If stuff like this is out in the open I can’t even imagine how much ineptitude is behind the scenes.
At least hire an offensive assistant. Hell go get Byran Leftwich. He's probably hoping to get back to the NFL.

Depends on an individuals character. For some people loyalty just isn't for sale.
For others, everything is for sale.

I know where I stand on that spectrum.
There’s an in-between. A coach might be loyal to a school to a certain point. But at that point his loyalty has to shift to his family. At some point the money is too great not to leave your Alma mater for generational wealth for your family.

I get it, to most people here $6m seems like generational wealth. But it doesn’t afford you the ability to provide for your family for generations the way $10-30m does. At a certain point you just don’t have the choice but to act in your (and your family’s) best interest on a macro basis. Because understand, if dilly falters ASU ain’t being loyal back to him. Coaching tenures can be short - particularly if you don’t have a level playing field (read: NIL). So you have to get yours when you can.

As the days pass by I find myself more and more leaning to Gannon getting fired.
Just like I didn't believe the Cardinals would make a "move" after losing to the Titans, I don't think it is likely that Gannon gets fired after this season. Some of it is Mike being cheap, but also some of it will be Kyler related. I think Gannon is tied to Monti, and both will get a chance with a different QB.

Sure he does. He knows what the first read is on pass plays.
After the snap I would agree. But doesn't K1s pre-snap read determine the route combinations, and reading certain defensive players position at the snap change things? Drew doesn't know the defensive alignment when he calls the plays.

Could have fired BPB last year and promoted Adams yet here we are and the Cowboys seem to have a up and coming OC that will get coaching offers next season.

Its funny because Adams got BPB a coaching interview with the Bears which he will never get again.

Amazingly, some franchise probably will interview Petzing after this season for their HC position (that is, unless he gets canned here first). We’ve all seen weirder moves in the NFL, eh?

We were in a 3 TE set there isn't a single thing to audible to for a 3 & 8 conversion in that situation. That is why JG said what he said.

JG is making it very easy at this point if improvment is not made before the end of the season.

I just don't get keeping a OC that is one of the worst in the league and actually cost you games this season.

A stubborn coach doesn't last long in the NFL that is for sure.

The $6.55 million was just what he made last season. A few more years of that (and other endorsements/ads) and he has that wealth you were speaking about. He and his family will be just fine.

Wait that 3TE set includes our best passing option in McBride and a top 5 passing option in Higgins. Why wouldn’t we have a pass call built in?

This isn’t high school or Madden. There should be variations out of every personnel group. You should be able to run your core plays out of every personnel group.

I’m not even absolving Kyler, but what’s the point of an OC, than?

You know the OC does more than call a play like in Madden. 95% of the work is done during the week, which is why Gannon is being honest but it sounds stupid to us.

It doesn't sound like a sophisticated pass game. Most OCs have an idea of what a defense is going to do vs certain looks, and they know what the QB should be doing when he sees it. There are ways to get/keep certain players involved throughout a game. In the modern NFL, most defenses aren't very sophisticated between the 30s.
