The heat is starting to build in national media outlets. Especially for the play calling at the end of the game. Gannon apologizing to Demercado is also one of the top headlines on ESPN right now. I don't think anyone will get fired this season, but if this losing streak stretches to 7 or 8 games, which it very likely could, Gannon will have to do something to save face.

Most of that was beyond his control. It became a pissing match between PHX and Tempe...then Glendale stepped in.
Yup...Mesa as well.
Rio Solado was a great site...but those worthless losers in Tempe couldn't stand the idea of Mesa taking the Cardinals from them so they went full bore pissing in cheerios to kill that site.

Moving to the west valley was exactly the right thing to do...I mean sorta...
First- move to a city that deserves a pro football team.

Second- sign a 100 year lease for some reservation land and just remove all the Arizona politicians from the equation.

Third- move to the west valley and stay as far away from tempe and asu as you can get.

Those were by far the three best options the team had.

The most inauthentic statement anyone can make in college sports is to say that, "I coach/play for my dream school." In fact, coaches try to "win the press conference" by saying things like "dream job," "top 5 program in the nation (Dennis Erickson)," "sleeping giant," etc. to win fan approval. Jedd Fisch said a lot of similar things to Arizona fans and donors, publicly and privately, and then 10 minutes later, was off to Seattle to take the UW job. Even Nick Saban, who had the best job in college football, and Coach K, who had the best job in college basketball, were minutes away from signing with another team.

Loyalty is only as valuable as the dollar amount and years on your contract. If Penn State offered double his salary, Kenny would be gone.
Depends on an individuals character. For some people loyalty just isn't for sale.
For others, everything is for sale.

I know where I stand on that spectrum.

Still waiting for BPB to be fired.

Is this organization going to ride the whole season with two dudes that have admitted that neither know what they are doing offensively?

If stuff like this is out in the open I can’t even imagine how much ineptitude is behind the scenes.

Not to mention, all those Bond referendums that he helped get past to build the stadium wouldn't last forever. If they don't get used they expire. So he was really between a rock and a hard place, so I don't place any blame on him at all for the stadium outcome. Outcome. In my opinion, it's the one thing he probably shouldn't get any heat for, because without him hitting the pavement and drumming up votes, there wouldn't be a new stadium.

im thinking gannon fought for petzing - im thinking kyler didn't - im thinking loooooooong season
Nah. Gannon is looking at the situation as a HC. The offense has been good at times. The team has dominated several of these games for the majority of those games. It played both division games very tough. Gannon isn't going to spread the offensive staff thinner unless he absolutely has to. Gannon knows that he needs to win games and the quickest path to that is improve Petzing. (not saying any of this will happen, just that it is the thought process)

Kyler is protected by Petzing so he isn't going to throw him under the bus. There is a reason Kyler likes Petzing. Those two are more lockstep than you think IMO.

We've seen Murray in a different system that was specifically tailored to his abilities, and after the first few years on an upward trajectory, it went downhill quickly.

On many plays in Petzing's system (and Kingsbury's), as you've pointed out, Murray has opportunities to throw deeper passes like he used to, but chooses to check down or turtle instead.

But the gutless play calling with a lead that we've seen far too often, as well as complete lack of creativity in play design and now, with Adams gone, inability to get the run game going, are entirely on the coaches, and mostly on Petzing.

We've seen plenty of evidence that both need to go.

Fair, but I'd argue that a lot of those decisions from Petzing are because of Kyler. Lack of trust in him after he's shown he crumbles when the pressure is on. I'm not even 100% sure the run game thing is all Klayton related. If I was a DC and watching the film of this offense from 2024, I'm packing the box, focusing on the run and I'm not concerned about Kyler beating me over the top.

Some of it is Klayton, no doubt, but I think some of it is just that teams are no concerned about Kyler passing.

The HC and OC just admitted they don’t know what they are doing offensively.

This is not a player issue it is an incompetent coaching issue. All these issues we are having with WRs timing, no player development, penalties, play calling, it’s all on Gannon and BPBand there isn’t a single thing that should be talked about till it’s fixed.

Fire BPB!

On 3rd and 8 the defense came out in something they weren't expecting or knew would not work well with the play called yet ran it anyway. So Titans knew we would curl up and run again! Even after the mini bye evaluation and promise to do things differently.
