The poll was trash simply because you don't agree with it lol. PP was lights out the 2nd half of last season, and also had a great 1st game this season. Calling him trash/ garbage is a massive overreach... he's still easily a top 10 CB in the league. The grass isn't always greener on the other side...

If you peruse the list of FA corners, Peterson will likely be the first or second best corner on the board.

I might go with Quinton Dunbar over him because it also would weaken the Seahawks, but Dunbar is 28, so he'll probably start to slow down over the second half of his next contract.

Erm, no. PFF grade every play a QB makes. So every run he makes, every linebacker he reads on an RPO, the accuracy of every pass, how long he holds on to the ball, did he invite pressure, did he cause the sack, did he not see any open guy, is he throwing guys open or waiting to see if they become open and a hundred other things. It's even more complicated with a running QB.

By comparison, P2 on 99% of his snaps is in man coverage on one guy. We rarely play zone. He's rarely asked to rush the passer.

But, this point aside, what you are trying to say is that PFF got it wrong this time. That he was better than his 30 grade, but they got it right all the times he had an 80+ season. It's just a coincidence that most fans thought he had a bad game at the same time PFF thought he had a bad game and that PFF's grade line up pretty much with how everyone thinks other cornerbacks have performed. It's just P2 they are wrong on.

I recall him being really good the last month of last season.

The fans have been spoiled by his play and have biases that affect their judgment in a way that other coaches/GMs don’t.

I will say this: if he really is top3 we should get a 2nd rounder minimum on a trade (with pending extension). Makes a trade a lot more palatable, especially if we get a player + a high pick.

He had one game against a Brown's team that had given up.

Look, I don't really care. I gave my opinion, if you don't agree thats fine.

But if this is the comeback P2 that's going to prove he's still the man I'd hate to see the P2 that's not putting extra effort in.
