NAU gets a back break in losing RB Zach Bauman. He looked wobbly and lost when he left the field. He took quite a hit. I hope he is alright.

Told you guys about Graham, he's a winner & demands nothing but that. Pitt players might not have liked the man but he's won everywhere he's been.

I know it is just one game against an inferior opponent, but the makeover from the Erickson era seemed quite dramatic. Very few mistakes or penalties. They didn't "play down" to the level of the opponent or take plays off. And didn't take the foot off the gas. Very impressive.

It's probably a good thing that game wasn't on over-the-air broadcast. FCC would've come down hard. That was obscene.

So is it safe for me to like the Sun Devils again?

NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN INVITATION FOR THEM TO START CALLING ASKING FOR MONEY AGAIN. NO MONEY UNTIL THEY GET TO THE FINAL FOUR.

Do you have any better read now on how you think ASU will do this year?

No. That was maybe the worst NAU team I've ever seen. In the past they were loaded with missed (smallish but speedy) Cali recruits and big-conference bad boy washouts. They have a few of the latter but none of the former. You definitely saw it on the defensive line. In previous years, they were at least as big as ASU.

I loved ASU's organization and game plan. Really, really impressed by that. I think they were exposed a little on corner edges of the run defense, they're going to be gashed more than once on their blitzes in that 30 scheme, and the second unit OL looks really, really green in pass rush.

I am in section 3, row 28

Overall, Gadd is right. NAU did not have the same level of talent as ASU and it showed on the field. However, I am excited for the uptempo offense and I had a good time at the game.

Four penalties and none of them on defense and no personal fouls!

After hearing Petros go off about how ASU is going to finish last, I am officially rooting against every other PAC 12 team. And it sure was nice to see WSU lose last night.

Meh. Petros is mad because he's family friends with the Bercovici's. When it looked like Berc was the heir apparent he was all on ASU's bandwagon. Now that Berc is probably going to need to transfer, he hates ASU.

It's pretty transparent.

He mentioned in his rant that he new Berc, that he is the best passer, and that is what you need in the Pac 12, bla bla bla.

Will be nice if he has to eat some crow at the end of the year.

I realize Toledo is a much better team than NAU. But the number of penalties and turnovers by UofA last night compared to those by ASU v. NAU is striking. I think that says a lot about the coaching and discipline. It will be interesting to see how this trend develops.

I like the trend, but Toledo is a much, much quicker team than NAU. The faster the team, the more mistakes the opponent tends to make.

On the flipside, I did notice quite a few "smart" plays by the ASU D: escorting a ball carrier to the sidelines rather than trying to knock him into the bench; trying to make form tackles rather always going for the big hit; raising the hands and walking away when another player got in their face. That was outstanding.
