The team plays hard for him.
I don't think the players have quit on him, but I also don't notice them playing any harder than other teams, aside from maybe the Dolphins or something.

Our big FA signing made a business decision at the goal line against Seattle. Announcers have pointed that our WRs stand around after their route is complete. We just had a guy spike the ball in front of the goal line. None of that seems very representative of a team that plays extra hard for their coach. Just my perspective.

What’s crazy is Seattle canned their QB who led them to 3 straight winning seasons to bring in a journeyman QB and are already showing that was the right decision. Immediate turnaround is always possible with a competent coaching staff (I hate to admit it but it only took Sean Payton 1 year in Denver to right the ship).

Granted I know you are talking about a rookie QB, but they could sign a vet and be successful if they knew how to coach.

How can ownership in good faith bring him back for a 4th consecutive losing campaign if this year yet again ends poorly. That in my mind is the definition of insanity.

That's a tough question. I would give him a fighting chance. A chance without Kyler, for sure. He is a coach killer.
So then you'd give him at least two more seasons. A vote to give Gannon a clean slate with another QB isn't just a one-year proposition.

KM is a $45m boat anchor on this team. He is a coach killer. If JB plays better than you, you are not a good QB. It was amazing how all of the recievers had their best game of the year when JB was the QB.
The “coach killer” remarks would fly if this thread was talking about Petzing. However, it’s not. Gannon “coaches” defense. Lost in the discussion against the Colts is that the defense(Gannon’s “strength”) lost the game against them.

Also, thinking Gannon should be brought back after that Titans debacle is hilarious.

I like Gannon and wish he wasn't saddled with Murray. Even though that's more a Monti issue. The thing is, if you keep Gannon, you're likely going to have to give him 2 more years. One with a new QB, maybe a vet to mentor a rookie and then the rookie's year to take over. But that's not realistic in today's NFL.
Also, in today's NFL, you probably need an offensive minded HC. They seem to be the most successful. The hard part is, what GOOD coaching candidate wants to come here if they are told Murray is the QB moving forward?

FWIW, I think the Monti hire was much worse than Gannon.

This year, his third, was to be the key year and so far it's a disaster. I would keep Monti but get an experienced head coach and also trade Murray in the off season.
Nope, Monti should go too. Otherwise we're stuck for him for probably 3 more years and he's been awful at roster building--after needlessly tearing it apart and making it worse.

I think Brissett's performance last Sunday proved that the offense is designed around a QB that stays in the pocket, goes through his progressions and is willing to take a hit to deliver the ball. Having Murray, who is the antithesis of this limits what can be expected of this offense. I know quite a few will disagree with me and I haven't been sold on Petzing yet, but one would have to agree that the offense looked a lot more functional last Sunday with this type of QB under center.

Unless Gannon loses the locker room, he should stay. I am not giving Monti another bite at the HC apple. They are a package deal IMO.
hypothetical:

John Harbaugh is rumored to be on the hot seat (IMO talking head stuff to drive engagement, but still.......)

If he is available -- to you pull the trigger? Can he bring a good personnel guy from Balt with him?

How many coaches/GM's do we have to go through? I want to see a change at QB first. I am not saying JB is the answer either but I would like to see what these guys can do around a new team leader of their choosing. Kyler has had his chances. Maybe he shocks us all but I have heard that so many times.

I don't believe for a minute that Harbaugh is on the hot seat....

... but if he were, OF COURSE the Cardinals should try to hire him and whoever he wants as GM.

But there's no way in hell he'd come to Arizona. He'd get his choice of almost any other open position.

No guarantee any other regime does any better. I'd like to see us stick with this young coaching staff who admittedly is still learning on the job. More coaching turnover is not likely to help this team right now. I'd like to see Gannon and his crew at least get a fair shot with a QB of their choosing whether it is a vet or a rookie. All the bad teams regurgitate their staff at a high frequency. Let's try a different approach for once.

Prepare yourself for Gannon & Petzing both back if they are ready to move on from Kyler. If they keep Kyler around another year, Petzing will be gone.

This is just the rallying cry for losers, IMO. Especially because we’re not seeing growth on the job from the Coaching Staff. As they’ve gotten more experience AND talent, the team has gotten WORSE the longer they’ve been on the job. Rewarding them with even more time to continue to waste ours makes zero sense to me.

if brissett makes murray look like a mobile panic attack again i don't see how there's not a quarterback controversy - i don't see how gannon doesn't play jacoby - and kyler has one of the most powerful pouts in football - it's a vibe yall - would murray accept the move to brissett or would we meet a new outspoken kyler murray - and how would gannon handle that

Kyler's going to get paid whether he starts or rides the bench. I honestly do not think he cares as long as his checks keep coming.
