Good, I'll wait until I watch the movie but I'm sick of waiting after the movie to watch all the post credit stuff. Much rather just look it up when I get home.

Got to see it a bit early. Freak'n fun! I'm a bit behind in my marvel movies, but I kept up ok. This was my first Holland spiderman film. I was burnt out on superhero movies, but I think they just drew me back in. I'm gonna circle back and catch up and then probably watch this one again eventually. Jon Bernthal was fantastic. I had no idea he was in the marvel movies now.
WOW! They're reporting a $72m preview day. This movie looks like it's going to do massive numbers. This weekend's numbers are going to be interesting to see how big this movie ends up and how the Odyssey fairs. If the Odyssey gets a great 3rd weekend hold like it did in its 2nd, then this might be a weekend for the record books.
Absolutely loved it. One of my favorite movies experiences in a long, long time. I thought No Way Home was the best MCU movie to date but this surpasses it. Definitely want to watch it again.
Can't say it's rekindled my interest in super hero movies as a whole, especially with Doomsday looking like a super rushed muddled mess, but I'm hooked on this franchise and have high hopes for Gosling's Ghost Rider.

This was a fun ride that I enjoyed quite a lot. The first third was a bit uneven, but once it hit its stride, this movie rocked. Castle and Spidey? Give me more, please. Same with the "surprise" star and character. The best part?
The Hulk? Oh ish!
So my daughter watched all three Spider-Man films with me this week in anticipation for seeing the new one. She loved it. Said it was the best one.
It really was just excellent. I loved that they let Frank keep his edge. He was still a foul mouthed bad ass. Really it's an excellent buddy cop movie as much as anything

It’s crazy to me that the Spider-Man movie after the Trifecta-Spider-Man sequel, with no big bad in the marketing is not only blowing away that movie’s opening weekend box office, but apparently is challenging Endgame for the all-time first weekend box office crown.
Checking it out with my brothers and their kids a little later tonight.

i have to watch it a few more times but it's possibly the best Spider-Man movie ever. Spiderman 2 held the crown before because Alfred Molina. This movie is REALLY focused on Spider-Man / Peter Parker. This is a Spider-Man movie like Cap 2 was a Cap movie. Just really credit the writers, producers, and the director

I loved it. Wouldn’t say it quite reached Spider-Man 1 or Spiderman 2 levels simply because it lacked the signature set pieces/villain performances those two movies did and it didn’t reach the ultimate sugar rush of the Trifecta Spidermen of the last 45 minutes of No Way Home, but I think it may have been the best overall Tom Holland Spiderman movie. And at least tied for 3rd overall in the series with No Way Home, with Spidey 2/1 as my number 1/2.
All in all, very entertaining/emotional and another great chapter in the Holland Spiderverse.

I have to go with Holland's first movie as the best, mainly because Keaton is one of the best villains in the MCU.
Holy crap, it did almost billion opening weekend. These numbers are insane. $927m total, $355m US, $572m international. I thought it was going to have a big weekend but this is insane.
The Odyssey did pretty good too at $51m domestic for only a 43% drop weekend over weekend. This has to be the biggest box office weekend ever. Endgame did $357m to open but there wasn't a big #2 then. That weekend. Captain Marvel took 2nd with only $8m at the box.

Yup. Biggest box office weekend ever. 2nd biggest 3rd weekend for any R rated movie for Nolan.
Spiderman likely tops at least 700 million domestic and Odyssey reaches at least 500 million and they came out within two weeks of each other. That’s got to be unprecedented to have two back to back smashes at that level and both of those numbers are probably being conservative. And the schedule is pretty bare until September so both of these movies are just going crush August too.
And all that’s just talking domestic. Odyssey probably ends up at 1.5 billion international and Spider-man, maybe 2 billion, possibly much more?
Yeah, the Odyssey hasn't opened in China yet. It comes out in 2 weeks. That's probably worth at least $200m. Spider-man is already out there. So I think your $1.5b for Odyssey sounds reasonable.
For Spidey, I'd be surprised if it doesn't top $2b now. Nothing to compete and word of mouth seems to be off the charts for it. Almost everything I've seen has said the best one since Spiderman 2 or with praise right in that range. One thing that might hurt it a bit though is how late in the summer it was released. Kids are going back to school soon so it'll be harder to get the multiple repeat viewings. I think it'll be hard to stay matching Endgame due to that.

Just realized that in 3 days, this movie made more than the entirety of James Gunn’s Superman domestically and bettered it’s entire international run by 300 million dollars.
In 3 days. I know this generation LOVED Robert Downey’s Tony Stark/Iron Man, something ridiculous, but I.T occurred to me that Holland’s Spider-Man is kinda the second coming of Christopher Reeves Superman, as far as being the most beloved, pure Superhero of his era.

I dont thing its so much "Hollands spider man" as it is...Spiderman..
I been a spidey geek since the early seventies... thing is...everyone loves spidey..he is funny..he is a really good guy...and he is lovable...
we been in a typhoon of absolute piss poor superhero offerings...with the exception of shang chi...another mild mannered loveable guy...
I think the generation driving theater dollars really loves super hero movies...and after living through an absolute crap superman...a disaster FF....then the insult of Super Girl...one thing we all know,...is that its nearly impossible to fudge up a spiderman movie...especially with a known quantity(Holland) donning the mask.
so its kind of a collective,..."Oh My God,...GEeeeeez,...its about damn time..."...and so we go in droves.
not many opportunities to go to the theater these days and be relatively certain you are going to get your moneys worth from the trip.
