its a problem in defensive planning when:

you have Akeem Davis Gaither matched man, with poor leverage to boot, on George Kittle.

in the first half in the red zone, you have Cody Simon matched man, with poor leverage to boot, on CMC

Gannon has frequently said: dont let their best players beat you. Yet -- 49ers two best skill people beat them early yesterday.

A week earlier, Seattle's best offensive player JSN went crazy in the first quarter.

that isnt on the players, its on the DC.

I think they will be here at least 1 more year. The problem is, if Mike is going to let Monti draft a QB you really have to commit to that. Letting him draft a QB then fire everyone after a year would likely be a mistake.
The Bears canned Eberfluss 1 year after drafting Williams, hired an offensive minded HC, and are on the verge of the playoffs.

Wolfley is such a kiss ass idiot

He refuses to blame the coaching staff for any of the penalties.

Saying it’s 100% on the players

SEA was moving the ball very effectively when Mack was in there

this is an entire defense problem
Mack got injured vs. the Cowboys, he didnt play a single snap against Seattle.

DTR left the game after 3 snaps and we were down to Garret Williams, Denzel Burke, Darren Hall and Kei'trel Clark.

The JSN deep shot TD was well defended in theory, he was double covered, but Garret Williams tripped. 14 of their points were on turnovers.

Your example of our DC being incompetent is our linebackers being matched up with their TEs and RBs. Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings are just as big a threat as Kittle and washed CMC nowadays, and the WRs are much more likely to create explosive plays.

The CMC play in the redzone someone got confused and made a mistake.

It sounds like your defensive plan would be to stack the box to take away Kittle and CMC, and leave our injury riddled CB room in man? We have to trust whoever is in at linebacker to do their jobs, our DBs dont have the right body composition to play linebacker.

We barely gave up any yards to this 49ers team, and actually had quite a few 3 and outs. They just kept starting in our territory due to interceptions, and kickoff returns. Their 1st play from scrimmage was at our 1 yard line. No the defense didnt do a good job overall, but these are rookies/career backups going against an offense with 4 stud receivers (CMC is basically a slot receiver this year) and an elite QB.

I haven't lost faith in Rallis or the defense just because the defense gets worse every time we lose players to injury.

Seems like many people assume Gannon is gone - can anyone explain what Monti has done to warrant more time?
His only saving grace might be the 2025 draft, which looks solid so far.

But other than that, no reason to keep him.

Seems far to early to draw any conclusions about this draft - their best draft pick dropped because of injury history and can't stay on the field here either. Nolan has looked good, but other than that, it's way too early.

The Rams really about to receive a top 5 pick

Meanwhile, we got awarded the 24th pick & drafted a DE that should’ve been a 4th rounder at best

We are so behind everyone else in the division it’s insane
lol I just remembered Seattle also got that top 5 pick from Denver after that trade years back

If I am taking my chances -- I am taking my chances vs Pearsall and Jennings, not Kittle and CMC
