Petzing came to the Cards after coaching under Stefanski. No thanks.
Doesn’t matter because those guys aren’t the same stratosphere. Petzing never called plays or held on OC title before AZ. He was only hired because he was on the same staff as Gannon in Minnesota. JG is the guy that brought in the guy so he’s responsible if he’s not willing to make a change.

I never said they were gonna win them all.
But they are talented enough and coached well enough to be competitive against anybody.

I mean, we both know if they continue to be in these 1 score games they are gonna lose more than they win. We just don't have enough guys with that clutch factor.

But against anybody they are fully capable of hanging around, staying in the game, and if a really good team makes a mistake we can use that to beat them.

This ain't the Cardinals of yonder year who get down by 2 scores early, play chase the entire game, then maybe add a couple garbage time scores to pull within 10.
These guys are competitive..that has proven out on the field the last couple seasons
You are really talking yourself out of that whole "Can beat any team" thing here.

There is a difference between being competitive and being dominant.
This team is absolutely competitive. They can absolutely win every game they play.
That doesn't mean they can't lose them just as easily. It's not a difficult concept

Buffalo, you can say can beat any team they play. Philly, a few others. Even then, they can lose to any team, too. People say "they can beat any team they play" about dominant teams. They don't say it about choke artist teams that only barely hung on to beat two lousy teams and lost to a lousy team. It's not a difficult concept.

You actually have confidence this team could walk into Buffalo and win? You're probably the only one.

See,... I think those losses were had were upsets. We are clearly the better team...we didn't lose due to lack of talent on the field...we lost due to lack of testicle on the sidelines...or intestinal fortitude, or whatever...
But I think our coaches calling games like candy asses can be fixed

Coaching is a huge part of a team's ability to win or lose, yes.

At this point, I'm thinking we should make a fresh start at the end of the season and fire JG and the coaching staff. I would also trade Murray then and have the new, hopefully offensive-minded, head coach, choose a quarterback in the draft.

Losing this many close games is typically an indictment of coaching. They don't play complimentary football, and the coaching staff puckers up when the game is close. The future is not bright with this group.

The outcome of one-score games is random. The problem is we’re in one-score games against Tennessee and Naw’lins.

We’re 2-3 in games decided by a single score. Slightly unlucky.

It’s this or suffer through two more losing seasons with Gannon. I know it sucks if you’re MB but you have to do something. We’ll find out at the end of the season if he really is committed to winning as an owner. You simply can’t run it back again. Whisenhunt, BA, Kliff, they all had spurts of success. JG has had none and honestly isn’t deserving of a 4th opportunity.

Monti has been pretty mediocre as well.

Bidwill extended Kliff and Keim after b2b late season meltdowns and he’s still paying them both. No telling what Mike will do after the season.

I think a new coaching staff and a new starting quarterback would bring us some hope next season even if we end up having another losing season. :)

The Titans’ loss is still just……wow. It’s almost comical.

I think Monti is fine, but Gannon absolutely needs to follow Kyler out the door.

I hate that I agree with this, because I like Gannon as coach and it's obvious the players do too. But the almost cliche issue with defensive head coaches is their risk aversion as a path to winning, and that seems baked into Gannon. His mentor is Mike Zimmer, and that's exactly how he coaches, but I don't think he is tactical enough to cover his lack of winning instincts.
