I’ll try a different tack on this game, I’m stunned we were the better team at minney today.
Nice effort Cards, you made me proud yet again!
Good point we dominated, But we lost and that hurts

We’re very sorry. I was hoping the outcome would have been much different.Good point we dominated, But we lost and that hurts
But they don’t have to go 96 for a fg. It’s easier to tie the game and at that point, away from home, with all momentum against you, the cards likely lose in OT.OK but the point is they would have to drive further if you go and don't get it. A FG won't beat you only a TD. They only had to go 70 yards instead of say 96 if we go and don't get it.
I just got my power back so I haven't had time to look but I think the expected win % or whatever it's called is about 25% higher if we go for it than if we kick the FG. A friend of mine is a Vikings fan, she watched the first half got home, saw the score and then watched the 2nd half and first thing she messaged me was why the hell did you kick the FG that was not very good math.
Even if we throw the ball on 4th down and it's incomplete, we still use a few seconds and they get the ball at the 4, not the 30
So he trusted Kyle to do it in the first half of the season when we were scoring touchdowns but now all of a sudden he doesn’t?Agreed. Petzig seemed to stick to his gameplan all game. Generated 6 scoring opportunities. Tough to argue with that. Can grouse about going too conservative in red zone, but that’s also who he is and maybe he doesn’t trust kyler enough to do more.

This was the flag on Tipp where we ended up 3rd and 4 at the end of the game

I got no answers. Just throwing thoughts out there. Also, was he really more aggressive early in the season or was his conservative playcalling just beating fruit so no one noticed how conservative it was. See demercados 50 yard gallop on a draw with time running down before halftime a few games ago. Super conservative play call that resulted in a TD.So he trusted Kyle to do it in the first half of the season when we were scoring touchdowns but now all of a sudden he doesn’t?
So either Putzis an idiot that needs to be fired or Gannon is forcing changes.
I think where I disagree with you most is your conflating going 70 yards for a TD and going 62 yards for a FG. First it’s 8 fewer yards and more importantly a 50 yard FG is much easier than actually punching in a TD.I guess we will just disagree. To me the extra 25 plus yards they have to go if we don't make it are worth me risking going to OT if they kick a FG. Because if they kick a FG they probably went the 70 yards they had to go for the game winning TD.
It's not like a omg you can't do that decision, there are other coaches who would have done the same thing, and Kyler defended the decision too. The crazy thing is that was a bad snap we were very lucky Gilligan handled it and we made the kick.
To me I'm more afraid of them doing what they did because we're only up 6, than going to OT.
The BIG mistake was not going for 2 earlier of course
Not even 20/20
We should have called the timeout after the sack.
Last timeout doesn't mean as much if we could spike it. Rather save the 40 seconds.
I was bitching about that big time. Really, a day later IMO, it's the conservative coaching that is worst part of that. This mistake, not going for 2, not going for the TD on 4th..... damn. It's a harsh damn lesson to learn but I hope Gannon has learned it. The guy hangs on to TOs like we get points for not using them. He's the opposite of Kliff in that sense, and both extremes can hurt you.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Totally pathetic.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
oaken 1 apparently so sadpoo fudge cocksuckers wuss ass conservative freaking offense!
Fire that wuss ass fudge nugget petzing. That freaking candy ass bitch
To be fair to his TO management, we did have the ball with over a minute left and all three timeouts. If we could have moved the ball at all those timeouts would have been huge in getting in position for a FG.I was bitching about that big time. They needed 12 plays and everyone of those timeouts to eventually get FG. Longest play on that drive was only 14 yards smh.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
I guess, but I would take 1:42 and two TOs over 1:03 and 3 timeouts. Better yet, don't get sacked and tackled in bounds. To be fair to his TO management, we did have the ball with over a minute left and all three timeouts. I mean it's not really an either or. Maybe they chew up more clock with more plays if we call a TO there. For that matter, maybe they never score a TD if we use a TO there (who really knows). The end result of over a minute and 3 timeouts is a good situation even if it's possible we could have had a somewhat better situation.I guess, but I would take 1:42 and two TOs over 1:03 and 3 timeouts. Totally pathetic.
Fire Petzing
Not sure how anyone can say with a straight face they liked our chances to score a TD in that situation. The offense stinks when the field is shrunk unless it’s on the one yard line and Kyler is allergic to McBride in the endzone. Gannon took the points and trusted the defense but the defense choked. Simple as that. Just as many teams lose not taking easy points as they win taking the easy points.
Yup, the FG put then right where it was supposed to, 4th and 7 without a FG option. That's exactly while you kick the FG, but the defense let them make the conversion.
We stop them there, it's game over and everyone says kicking the 3 was the right call.
And they were literally a half step from getting the stop with the passrush. Darnold gets hit right after he releases the ball to convert the fourth down.Yup, the FG put then right where it was supposed to, 4th and 7 without a FG option.
