I think the question comes down to where does Bidwill place the blame? Is he finally over Murray? If so he may think since he’s paid for him Gannon deserves a shot with a new QB.

You're probably right. But that means multiple more seasons with Gannon and Monti :(

When would JG have to at least have a .500 season or better or be fired? How long would JG have before the team has to make the playoffs or be fired?
I'm not a fan of rebuilds lasting more than 3 more seasons and I really don't like rebuilds taking more than 4 seasons.
Especially in THIS current era of NFL football. Turnarounds are expected, not wished for. Didn't think the Colts and the Patriots would both leave us in the dust. Had you asked me before the season started if we'd be worse than them at this point in the season, I would have looked at you like you were crazy.

Can you think of a head coach who was as big a failure as Gannon has been for three seasons and then turned it around for consistent success?

Kyle Shanahan was 10-22 through two seasons then went 13-3. Bill Belicheck was 20-28 through his first three seasons in Cleveland.

I don’t think our bad ownership makes good coaches mid. I think our bad ownership repels good coaches. If JG has a grand scheme to make us consistently successful, he’s certainly slow-playing it.
How quickly Gannon imploded the second there were expectations is the disqualifying thing for me. Lot of coaches around the league can get borderline roster league guys to play with their hair on fire, it’s easy to motivate a guy who’s playing for a paycheck. A lot harder when there’s a microscope on the organization and your players don’t really “need” you.

I keep going back to how BA won here even with the trainwreck GM and same ownership. Ownership obviously sucks but you know you’re legit if you go into Seattle and beat the LOB every year even with Drew Stanton.

I agree that Monti, JG, and DP have made major mistakes. So have the players (too many to mention). But why does no one mention that, by my limited research, over the first seven games our defense has only forced five punts in the fourth quarter, they have only had two sacks (both by CC against Carolina), and the only time there was a defensive takeaway in the fourth quarter - the Titans scored an effing touchdown.

This is after the defense was bolstered in both free agency and the draft this year. What would our record be if our defense was overachieving in the fourth quarter, or at least not underachieving? Has NR stepped up his game this year or regressed? Does he get a pass as it seemed like he did more with less talent last tear?

We are a young inexperienced team with young inexperienced coaches. But if we get rid of all the coaches and players who have let us down this year, there won’t be much of a foundation to build upon. While the season has been an epic disappointment thus far, hopefully getting some injured players back (and maybe saying goodbye to some others) will provide some pleasant surprises between now week 18. Otherwise we are likely back to major rebuild mode.

Arians should go in the RoH honestly. It’s shameful that Carson Palmer is there and Bruce isn’t/

I’m not a Gannon fan. He acts like a smart-ass to the press. He and his staff are poor game mangers. If this isn’t turned around he should be gone at the end of the season along with his staff.
Yeah, this year he has shown that he offers nothing as a head coach. He's bad.

I don’t think there’s evidence for this. Every FO has hits and misses when it comes to college and pro scouting.

We should always look to exceed the average, but I think you that by finding and adding exceptional scouts, not putting the guys you already have in the circular file.
Right?

There isn't a limit right??
A rule that says they can only have 8 scouts under contract?
They should be trying to get them all.

Stick with a loser showing bad traits as a coach? Hmm...
He shows promise as a HC too.
We all knew there would be a steep learning curve with a rookie HC and two rookie coordinators.

I really like Rallis,...and dude is only like 12 or something.

I would dump kyler...dump The Petzing... draft a QB early...then sign an experienced OC...
Even kliff had the benefit of having an exe HC to lean on...
Gannons entire crew has to whip out their google-fu every time they have a question.
We need to put JG in a position where he can totally forget about one side of the ball and focus on developing as a HC. Whenever he does that now, The Petzing calls 3 consecutive A-Gap Blasts, then punts.
I don't know if it was Mike or monti...but it was a huge mistake to allow the entire staff to be filled out with rookie coaches.

Keep in mind getting Arians was a fluke. How many times does a winning coach get made available by his team? I will credit Bidwill for seizing the opportunity, but it’s unlikely to happen again.
If we want one we are gonna have to grow our own
