The Athletic's Nick Baumgartner posted this mock draft today:

1. Las Vegas Raiders: Dante Moore, QB, Oregon

It’s time for Tom Brady and company to rip the cord on a quarterback. So long as he declares, Moore would be an exciting choice. The 20-year-old QB is light on experience, but his blend of football IQ, athletic instinct, poise and arm talent is beyond his years. He has the right mindset for a challenge like this and offers a skill set worth investing in.

2. New York Jets: Arvell Reese, edge, Ohio State

The most talented defender and arguably the most talented football player in the class, period, Reese has the potential to be a total game wrecker on the edge. He also has enough versatility to move around the front seven. He’s a prospect with an elite-level ceiling.

3. Arizona Cardinals: Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana

The Cardinals could have major leadership questions heading into next season, possibly including at quarterback with the future of the Kyler Murray era in doubt. Now that Arizona is starting over with a new coaching regime, it might be the perfect time to start over under center, too.

There maybe another way "A very Big if"say Raiders want Murray so we trade him and our 1st for #1 I know Ime dreaming but stranger things Harbaugh to the Colts Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf etc to name a few
It would be the best case scenario for us...but if you are the raiders why not offer a mid round pick for Murray and then get a separate haul for the 1st pick.

Murrays value is probably a 3rd rounder....he's not worthless, in fact he might end up being the best veteran QB available. His contract is the hang up for a lot of teams...but if we eat some money who knows. Anyone thinking we are getting a first rounder for him is being silly. There is an outside chance we flat out cut him, and your team could get him as a FA on a much better contract...so no one is giving up a ton for him.

Our best chance to get some sort of value for him will be including our picks a in either a trade up or trade down. Raiders might be willing to take #3, Murray and our 3rd?...since they are only moving down to #3?

Best case draft scenario...but I don't see any way teams aren't calling the jets immediately to jump us. We would possibly be able to make a deal with them sending them Murray and maybe our 3rd to move up to #2 and take Mendoza. We would probably be asked to eat a big chunk of Murrays contract

After hearing the Colts press conference yesterday it seems like Ballard and Steichen will be under enormous pressure next year and have to make the postseason to keep their jobs. That makes me think that they probably can't afford to plan with Daniel Jones after his injury and they certainly won't draft a QB. That's where Kyler could come into play. Maybe they are even desperate enough to trade for him in order to avoid a potential bidding war if we cut Kyler.

Given that I think that there might be a chance they don't sign Daniel Jones, could he be an option for us maybe?

Name that Tune. GB released him and, interestingly, called up Desmond Ridder to replace him.

Future news, Josh Hoover, whom I thought might come out and was a dark horse draft possibility, has stayed in school and transferred to IU to replace Mendoza. This further strengthens next years QB pool.

I think the Colts are a good landing spot for Malik Willis or Mac Jones.

They currently have $35MM in 2026 cap space with three or four pretty major pending free agents.

He will do well in Indiana.

Simpson just declared @Chopper0080

During a recent episode of "The Dynasty" podcast, Alabama's three-time national champion quarterback A.J. McCarron shared his thoughts on Simpson's college career and future. He didn't hesitate to offer some serious advice to the Crimson Tide star as he weighs his decisions.

“I think Ty’s gotta come back,” McCarron said on the podcast, adding, “I think if he enters, he’s a seventh-round...maybe five-to-seven.”

“I think he has no choice but to come back. If he asked me for advice, I’d say, ‘Brother, you gotta come back,'" he suggested.

“You gotta show that you can sustain success and keep playing at the same level all year long or get better as the year goes on, but I think he needs another year,” McCarron indicated.

What if he actually ends up good & we take the bad one?
That would be par for the course I would say. I honestly think he’s better than he’s gotten credit for. He just looked really bad in some big games.

I’m not saying he’s flawless, but I don’t think people realize how challenging it is to run a functioning offense with NO running game. Like, NONE. Crazy stat to me is that Bama’s longest run of the season was 26 yards, Ty came in 2nd at 24.

He’s done enough in my eyes to warrant a top five pick especially if he kills the off season stuff. I wouldn’t hate if we pick him, I just really liked what I saw from Mendoza.

Oh yea, I would draft Mendoza over him, but I’m not fully convinced that Moore is also better than him.
