This is the thread in which you post the lyrics to your favorite songs. Could be the song in its entirety or just a sample....

I'll be begin w/a hilarious song by Gomez called "Dire Tribe"....

Dire Tribe

Hello

Feel much better on hashish or ephedrine
Feel much better when I'm smoking a lot
Feel much better on acid or mescaline
Feel much better though somebody's not

In their kitchens and ballrooms
And boardrooms with chairs
They'd have to pile them to the ceiling
For someone to get high

And everybody wants to know
Everybody singing
If you really need to know
Everybody cry
Everybody wants to know
Everybody singing why
Lord, try and sober this old tribe

Oh, goodbye

Feel much better on meths or on Windolene
Feel much better when I've had my line
Feel much better on amyl or ketamine
Feel much better though somebody's not

When they're hepped up and paranoid
With lithium lights
They'll have to drop an ebenezer
To get a first class flight

Now, everybody wants to know
Everybody singing
If you really need to know
Everybody cry
Everybody wants to know
Everybody singing why
Lord, try and sober this old tribe

La da da da..
Oh, here we go again

Feel much better on Night Nurse, amphetamine
Prozac is better, Viagra I got
Feel much better, paracetamol and codeine
Feel much better on heat, I get hot

With wine gums and diesel
Pot noodle or fries
I'd rather die from emphysema
Than learn to just get by

And everybody wants to know
Everybody singing
If you really need to know
Everybody cry
Everybody wants to know
Everybody singing why
Lord, try to stay sober in this tribe

Okay, if that's the way you feel

Feudin & Fussin by Bing Crosby

Feudin' and fussin' and a-fightin,'
Sometimes it gets to be excitin,'
Don't like them ornery neighbors down by the creek,
We'll be plumb out of neighbors next week.
Grandma, poor ol' grandma,
Why'd they have to shoot poor grandma.
She lies 'neath the clover
Someone caught her bending over
Pickin' up a daisy!
Feduin' and fussin' and a-fightin'
This is a wrong that needs a rightin,'
Let's get that funeral service over
So then we can start in a-feudin' again.

Feudin' and fightin' and a-fussin,'
That's all that's goin' on with us'n.
We are such neighborly people peaceful and sweet,
All except when we happen to meet.
Daughter, baby daughter,
Poisened all the neighbors chickens.
Daughter hadn't oughter
Least 'till she could run like the dickens.
They hit her with a shovel!
Feudin' and fightin' and a-fussin'
No use a-standin' here a-cussin,'
Let's give our daughter a pistol now that she's four
And go feudin' and fightin' some more.

The Future -- The Land of the Victorious
"Avmakt" by Lengsel

Vind vær min Herre
Du Er
Vind vær min Herre
Du Er
Du river meg løs
Fra verdens
Min tomhet
Jeg kan intet gjøre
Jeg føres
Storm
Du minste vindpust
Lær meg
Jeg lever

Hvordan kan jeg
Knuser alltid egne drømmer
Fører skam over egen higen
Det levde liv spotter
Det største under
Så flommer hatet

[PARALYSIS]

Wind be my Lord
You Are
Wind be my Lord
You Are
You take me (tear me) away
From this world's
My emptiness
I can nothing do
I'm moved
Storm
You smallest Breath of Wind
Teach me
I live

How can I
Always ruining my own dreams
Bringing shame upon my own will
When the life lived scorns
The Greatest Wonder
Hate overflows

"Fourteen" by the Vandals

I've watched you grow for all these years and shamefully admit,
I've loved to watch you blossom and it's awful hard to quit
feeling these feelings stirring up inside of me.
You nearly are a woman now and in a couple years,
all the rules and boundaries will slowly disappear,
wait now my child until you get a little older,
every new sunrise brings your heart a little closer- to me

[Chorus:]
But I can't make love to you
because you're fourteen just a peck on the cheek as I'm counting the weeks go by (why? why?)
We can't make love together
because you're fourteen years old
And the trust of your mom that we're not doing wrong,
I just can't betray-today.
Just an ounce of patience we can still do things we like-
watch you eat an ice cream cone and watch you ride your bike
Patiently longing for that future day of truth-
I want to hug and kiss you nearly every time I see you
but I don't want the neighborhood to get the wrong idea
there'll come a day when love like ours is not a crime
just give it time-

[Chorus x2]
But I can't make love to you
because you're fourteen just a hug and a sigh from a law biding guy tonight (why? why?)
We can't make love together- because you're fourteen years old
And the trust of your mom that we're not doing wrong, I just can't betray-today.

"Little Wing"

Well, she's walking through the clouds,
With a circus mind that's running wild,
Butterflies and Zebras,
And Moonbeams and fairy tales.
That's all she ever thinks about.
Riding with the wind.

When I'm sad, she comes to me,
With a thousand smiles she gives to me free.
It's alright, she says it's alright,
Take anything you want from me,
Anything.
Fly on little wing.

"Chanukah song part II" by Adam Sandler

:D

Put on your Yamaka
Its time for Chanukah
So much funnaka
To celebrate Chanukah

Chanukah is the festival of lights
Instead of one day of presents
We get eight crazy nights

When you feel like the only kid in town
Without a Christmas tree
Here's a new list of people who are Jewish
Just like you and me

Winona Ryder,
Drinks Manischewitz wine
Then spins a Dreidle with Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein

Guess who gives and receives
Loads of Chanukah toys
The girls from Veruca Salt and all three Beastie Boys

Lenny Kravitz is half Jewish,
Courtney Love is half too
Put them together
What a funky bad ass Jew

We got Harvey Keitel
And flash dancer Jennifer Beals
Yasmine Bleeth from Baywatch is Jewish
And yes her boobs are real

Put on that yarmulka
Its time for Chanukah
2 time Ocsar winning Dustin Hoffmanaka
celebrates Chanukah

O.J. Simpson
Still not a Jew
But guess who is,
The guy who does the voice for Scooby Doo

Bob Dylan was born a Jew
Then he wasn't
but now he's back,
Mary Tyler Moore's husband is Jewish
'Cause we're pretty good in the sack.

Guess who got bar-mitzvahed
On the PGA tour
No I'm not talking about Tiger Woods
I'm talkin' about Mr. Happy Gilmore.

So many Jews are in the show biz
Bruce Springsteen isn't Jewish
But my mother thinks he is.

Tell the world-amanaka
It's time to celebrate Chanukah
It's not pronounced Ch-nakah
The C is silent in Chanukah
So read your hooked on phonica
Get drunk in Tijuanaka
If you really really wannaka
Have a happy happy happy happy Chanukah!

Time to revive this thread.....What's your other song lyrics of all-time? I've been listening to the following nonstop since it's typified how I've felt the past couple weeks about my job.....

-Traffic-
[font=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Feelin' Alright (Dave Mason)

Seems I've got to have a change of scene
'Cause every night I have the strangest dreams
Imprisoned by the way it could have been
Left here on my own or so it seems
I've got to leave before I start to scream
But someone's locked the door and took the key

You feelin' alright? I'm not feelin' too good myself
Well, you feelin' alright? I'm not feelin' too good myself

Well, say, you sure took me for one big ride
And even now I sit and wonder why
That when I think of you I start to cry
I just can't waste my time, I must keep dry
Gotta stop believin' in all you lies
'Cause there's too much to do before I die

Don't get too lost in all I say
Though at the time I really felt that way
But that was then, now it's today;
I can't get off so I'm here to stay
Till someone comes along and takes my place
With a different name and, yes, a different face
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Songs of Polygram Internationl, Inc. (BMI)

Yes. this song was eventually covered by Joe Cocker.....

Maybe that song's predecessor in spirit?

Good Girls Don't
The Knack

She's your adolescent dream
School boy stuff
A sticky sweet romance
And she makes you want to scream
Wishing you could get inside her pants
So you fantasize away
While you're squeezing her
You thought you heard her say

(Chorus)
Good girls don't, I should be telling you
Good girls don't, I should be telling you
Good girls don't, but I do

So you call her on the phone
To talk about the teachers that you hate
And she say's she's all alone
And her parents' won't be coming home 'til late
There's a ringing in your brain
'Cuz you coulda swore
You thought you heard her saying

(Chorus)

And it's a teenage sadness
Everyone has got to taste
An in-between age madness
That you know you can't erase
'Til she's sitting on your face (3rd verse)

You're alone with her at last
And you're waitin' 'til you think the time is right
'Cuz you heard she's pretty fast
And you're hopin' that she'll give you some tonight
So you start to make your play
'Cuz you coulda swore you thought you heard her saying

(Chorus)

Elton John

Raised to be a lady by the golden rule
Alice was the spawn of a public school
With a double barrel name in the back of her brain
And a simple case of mummy-doesn’t-love-me blues

Reality it seems was just a dream
She couldn’t get it on with the boys on the scene
But what do you expect from a chick who’s just sixteen
And hey, hey, hey, you know what I mean

All the young girls love alice
Tender young alice they say
Come over and see me
Come over and please me
Alice it’s my turn today

All the young girls love alice
Tender young alice they say
If I give you my number
Will you promise to call me
Wait till my husband’s away

Poor little darling with a chip out of her heart
It’s like acting in a movie when you got the wrong part
Getting your kicks in another girl’s bed
And it was only last tuesday they found you in the subway dead

And who could you call your friends down in soho
One or two middle-aged dykes in a go-go
And what do you expect from a sixteen year old yo-yo
And hey, hey, hey, oh don’t you know

One of my favorites from my younger days.

Metallica - Eye of the Beholder

Do You See What I See?
Truth Is an Offence
Your Silence for Your Confidence

Do You Hear What I Hear?
Doors Are Slamming Shut
Limit Your Imagination, Keep You Where They must

Do You Feel What I Feel?
Bittering Distress
Who Decides What You Express

Do You Take What I Take?
Endurance Is the Word
Moving Back Instead of Forward Seems to Me Absurd

--------------------------------------
Doesn't Matter What You See?
Or into it What You Read
You Can Do it Your Own Way
If It's Done Just How I Say

Independence Limited
Freedom of Choice
Is Made for You My Friend
Freedom of Speech
Is Words That They Will Bend
Freedom with Their Exception

Do You Fear What I Fear?
Living Properly
Truths to You Are Lies to Me

Do You Choose What I Choose?
More Alternaves
Energy Derives from Both the plus and Negative

Do You Need What I Need?
Boundaries Overthrown
Look Inside to Each His Own

Do You Trust What I Trust?
Me, Myself and I
Penetrate the Smoke Screen I See Through the Selfish lie

-----------------------------------
Doesn't Matter What You See
Or into it What You Read
You Can Do it Your Own Way
If It's Done Just How I Say

Independence Limited
Freedom of Choice
Is Made for You My Friend
Freedom of Speech
Is Words That They Will Bend
Freedom with Their Exception

Do You Know What I Know?
Your Money End Your Wealth
Your Silence Just to Hear Your Self

Do You Want What I Want?
Desire Not a Thing
I Hunger after Independence Lengthen Freedom's Ring

------------------------------------
Doesn't Matter What You See
Or into it What You Read
You Can Do it Your Own Way
If It's Done Just How I Say

Independence Limited
Freedom of Choice
Is Made for You My Friend
Freedom of Speech
Is Words That They Will Bend
Freedom no longer frees you

Doesn't Matter What You See
Or into it What You Read
You Can Do it Your Own Way
If It's Done Just How I Say

One of my favorite lyrics:

Band: OK Go
Song: What To Do
Lyric:

Come on in, sweetie-pie! Have an apple, have some lye...
Leave your friends, righteous and pathetic, standing at the door.
On the books, all your bets favor head-bands and cassettes,
cigarettes, suffragettes, and bores.

What to do?
Sweetheart, you'll find mediocre people do exceptional things all the time.
Oh, the ruin will do in your talented mind...
could've been a genius if you'd had an axe to grind.

When we moved to the city, it seemed the competition got so much
less pretty but the mirror's never failed you like this before.
So your revenge on the world will be pencils through your curls
and if wanting ever taught you anything, it's wanting more.
(and more and more and more...)

What to do?
Sweetheart, you'll find mediocre people do exceptional things all the time.
Oh, the ruin will do in your talented mind...
could've been a genius if you'd had an axe to grind.
What to do?

When that day finally nears, you'll at least have made it clear
that compassion's just a nicer way of looking down your nose.
It seems that all the people want to do is crowd the streets of
Amsterdam (Pamplona, too), but the bulls have already come and gone and bellowed all their lows.

Now nobody knows

what to do.
Sweetheart, you'll find mediocre people do exceptional things all the time.
Oh, the ruin will do in your talented mind...
Could've been a genius if you'd had an axe to grind.
What to do?

I dont think there ever has been any more enchanting lyrics ever than what Bob Marley penned here:

-Bob Marley-
"Redemption Song"

Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
By the 'and of the Almighty.
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our minds.
Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them can stop the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look? Ooh!
Some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fullfil the book.

Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever have:
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs;
Redemption songs.
---
/Guitar break/
---
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
None but ourselves can free our mind.
Wo! Have no fear for atomic energy,
'Cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.
How long shall they kill our prophets,
While we stand aside and look?
Yes, some say it's just a part of it:
We've got to fullfil the book.
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom? -
'Cause all I ever had:
Redemption songs -
All I ever had:
Redemption songs:
These songs of freedom,
Songs of freedom.

That song essentially was the genius of Bob Marley in the sense that he only played acoustic guitar in that song....

Some bands obviously tend to drown out lyrical masterpieces with too many instruments detracting away from the message that the singer is conveying, but Marley knew he had a gem right there and didnt want to tarnish it whatsoever....

Here's another set of lyrics from another musical genius....

"I Shall Be Free"
-Bob Dylan-

Well, I took me a woman late last night
I's three - fourths drunk she looked all right
'Til she started peelin' off her onion ****
She took off her wig, said, "How do I look" ?
I's high flyin', bare naked... Out the window.

Well, sometimes I might get drunk
Walk like a duck and smell like a skunk
Don't hurt me none, don't hurt my pride
'Cause I got my little lady right by my side
(She's a tryin' a hide pretendin'
She don't know me).

I's out there paintin' on the old wood shed
When a can a black paint it fell on my head
I went down to scrub and rub
But I had to sit in back of the tub
(Cost a quarter
Half price).

Well, my telephone rang it would not stop
It's President Kennedy callin' me up
He said, "My friend, Bob, what do we need to make the country grow" ?
I said, "My friend, John, "Brigitte Bardot,
Anita Ekberg
Sophia Loren"
Country'll grow.

Well, I got a woman five feet short
She yells and hollers and squeals and snorts
She tickles my nose pats me on the head
Blows me over and kicks me out of bed
(She's a man eater
Meat grinder
Bad looser).

Oh, there ain't no use in me workin' alla time
I got a woman who works herself blind
Works up to her britches, up to her neck
Write me letters and sends me checks
(She's a humdinger
Folk singer).

Late one day in the middle of the week
Eyes were closed I was half asleep
I chased me a woman up the hill
Right in the middle of an air drill
(I jumped a fallout shelter
I jumped the string bean
I jumped the TV dinner
I jumped the shot gun).

Now, the man on the stand he wants my vote
He's a - runnin' for office on the ballot note
He's out there preachin' in front of the steeple
Tellin' me he loves all kinds - a people
(He's eatin' bagels
He's eatin' pizza
He's eatin' chitlins).

Oh, set me down on a television floor
I'll flip the channel to number four
Out of the shower comes a football man
With a bottle of oil in his hand
(Greasy kid stuff
What I want to know, Mr. Football Man, is
What do you do about Willy Mays
Martin Luther King
Olatunji).

Well, the funniest woman I ever seen
Was the great - granddaughter of Mr. Clean
She takes about fifteen baths a day
Wants me to grow a moustache on my face
(She's insane).

Well, ask me why I'm drunk alla time
It levels my head and eases my mind
I just walk along and stroll and sing
I see better days and I do better things
(I catch dinosaurs
I make love to Elizabeth Taylor...
Catch hell from Richard Burton !).
Hard to believe these were written in 1963....He's always been ahead of his time.....

"A Song to Sing"

Goodbye four leafed clovers
Hello gone awry
Don't cry the fight ain't over
Unless you might survive

I'm looking for a song to sing and
I'm looking for a friend to borrow
I'm looking for my radio
So I might find a heart to follow
I've never been this lonely for your lovin
I've never been just wearing time for nothing
I've never been just looking for a reason
So that maybe you'd be thinking of me
So you'd be thinking of me

All that I had found in reason
Is reason just to not believe
And all that you are left, is treason
It's treason just to let it be

I'm looking for a song to sing and
I'm looking for a friend to borrow
I'm looking for my radio
So I might find a heart to follow
I've never been this lonely for your lovin
I've never been just wearing time for nothing
I've never been just looking for a reason
So that maybe you'd be thinking of me
So you'd be thinking of me

These blue yonder dreams
And second-hand shoes
You're so far gone that you're left to lose
And it's to late to go home all alone
You're the tar in that old cigar
And the worn out cable on a cable car
And you're too tired to admit you've got to choose

I'm looking for a song to sing and
I'm looking for a friend to borrow
I'm looking for my radio
So I might find a heart to follow
I've never been this lonely for your lovin
I've never been just wearing time for nothing
I've never been just looking for a reason
So that maybe you'd be thinking of me
So you'd be thinking of me

"Next Train"

Well I've finally found tomorrow
Cos I just now found today
And I'm left with all the sorrow
Lingering from yesterday

So I'm leaving this behind on the next train
To a place where I don't know
When I leave I may not ride on the best train
But I'm tired of trying to let go

Well I'd love for you to be there
On the day I say goodbye
But I've lost too much to your stare
To even waste a sigh

So I'm leaving this behind on the next train
To a place where I don't know
Yes I'm leaving this behind on the next plane
Cos I'm tired of trying to let go

You're the drug that's in my vein
You life me up and leave me pain
I'm broken, beaten, barely sane
So I'm leaving on the next train
I'll gladly stay to wait it through
And find out what I've meant to you
But it's given me this time
So I'm leaving this behind

So I'm leaving
So I'm leaving this behind on the next train
To a place where I don't know
When I leave I may not ride on the best train
But I'm tired of trying to let go

Yes I'm tired of trying to let go

Time

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain.
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over,
Thought I'd something more to say.

Band: Alan Parsons
Song: Siren Song
Lyrics:

Days go by
Adrift upon a rolling sky
The miracles escape my eyes
But I still hope

Time, regret
Is this as good as life can get?
It's only when the spirit sets me free I cope

If I seek in every corner
If I search in every doorway
When the water turns to wine will I believe?
If I navigate the river
Would you take me to your island?
Sing a siren song so I can never leave

Long and wide
Eternity from side to side
Lead me through the rapids
Guide me to the shore

There's a place
That's far beyond this time and space
When each of us comes face to face with something more

If I open up the channel
Will you send me information
If you tune me to your station I'll receive
If I navigate the river
Would you take me to your island
Sing a siren song so I can never leave

Plans can fail
But only fail to understand
The pyramid will turn to sand and I'll be here
I will be here

Gee From The G

<sample from full metal jacket>
What'll we get for ten dollars?
Every 'ting you want
Everything?
Every'ting
Ooh! don't do that, baby! ahh!
Hold on this! oh, sock it to me! aaahh!
Ooohh!
</sample from full metal jacket>

Chorus (repeated during breakdowns):
<sample from full metal jacket>
Ahh! me so horny!
Me love you long time!
</sample from full metal jacket>

Verse 1: [brother marquis]
Sittin' at home with my **** on hard
So i got the black book for a freak to call
Picked up the telephone, then dialed the 7 digits
Said, "yo, this marquis, baby! are you down with it?"
I arrived at her house, knocked on the door
Not having no idea of what the night had in store
I'm like a dog in heat, a freak without warning
I have an appetite for sex, 'cause me so horny

Chorus

Verse 2: [fresh kid ice]
Girls always ask me why i **** so much
I say "what's wrong, baby doll, with a quick nut?"
'cause you're the one, and you shouldn't be mad
I won't tell your mama if you don't tell your dad
I know he'll be disgusted when he sees your ***** busted
Won't your mama be so mad if she knew i got that ass?
I'm a freak in heat, a dog without warning
My appetite is sex, 'cause me so horny

Chorus

Verse 3: [brother marquis]
You can say i'm desperate, even call me perverted
But you say i'm a dog when i leave you ****ed and deserted
I'll play with your heart just like it's a game
I'll be blowing your mind while you're blowing my brains
I'm just like that man they call georgie puddin' pie
I **** all the girls and i make 'em cry
I'm like a dog in heat, a freak without warning
I have an appetite for sex, 'cause me so horny.

Chorus
Breakdown(4x):
<sample from full metal jacket>
Ahh! hold on this! oh, sock it to me!
</sample from full metal jacket>

Chorus

Verse 4: [fresh kid ice]
It's true, you were a virgin until you met me
I was the first to make you hot and wetty-wetty
You tell your parents that we're goin' out
Never to the movies, just straight to my house
You said it yourself, you like it like i do
Put your lips on my ****, and suck my ******* too
I'm a freak in heat, a dog without warning
My appetite is sex, 'cause me so horny

Chorus
Breakdown (repeated till end of track):
<sample from full metal jacket>
****ie suckie. me ****ie suckie.
</sample from full metal jacket>

Everclear-AM Radio

"~KHJ Los Angeles!~ Portions of the day's programming are reproduced by means of electrical transcriptions or tape recordings."

You can hear the music on the AM radio

The VCR and the DVD
There wasn't none of that crap back in 1970
We didn't know about a World Wide Web
It was a whole different game being played back when I was a kid

Wanna get down in a cool way
Picture yourself on a beautiful day
Big bell bottoms and groovy long hair
Just walkin' in style with a portable CD player
No, you would listen to the music on the AM radio
Yeah, you could hear the music on a AM radio

Flashback, '72
Another summer in the neighborhood
Hangin' out with nothing to do
Sometmes we'd go drivin' around
In my sister's Pinto
Cruisin' with the windows rolled down
We'd listen to the radio station
We were too damn cool to buy the eight track tapes
There wasn't any good time to want to be inside
My mama wanna watch that TV all ******* night

I'd be in bed with the radio on
I would listen to it all night long
Just to hear my favorite song
You'd have to wait but you could hear it on the AM radio
Yeah, you could hear the music on a AM radio
I can still hear Mama say "Boy turn that radio down!"

¡°Aw, Mom. Not that show again! I don't wanna watch that show! Can't we watch Good Times or Chico and the Man or something cool? Turn it off!"

Things changed back in '75
We were all growing up on the in and the outside
We got in trouble with the police man
We got busted gettin' high in the back of my friend's van

I remember 1977
I started going to concerts and I saw the Led Zeppelin
I got a guitar on Christmas day
I dreamed that Jimmy Page would come from Santa Monica and teach me to play
Teach me to play...

There isn't any place that I need to go
There isn't anything that I need to know
I did not learn from the radio

Yeah when things get stupid and I just don't know
Where to find my happy
I listen to my music on the AM radio
You can hear the music on a AM radio
You can hear the music on a AM radio

I like pop, I like soul, I like rock, but I never liked disco
I like pop, I like soul, I like rock, but I never liked disco
We like pop, we like soul, we like rock, but we never liked disco...

No I never liked disco...

From the new Social Distortion album.

"Don't Take Me For Granted"

I'm your worn in leather jacket
I'm the volume in your f'ed up teenage band
A pack of smokes and a six pack
I'm the dreams you had walking down the railroad tracks
You and Me.

I'm your first taste of romance
I'm your first broken heart on a Saturday night
Guys like us ain't got no chance
But I'm the thing that keeps you and me alive
But not forever

[Chorus:]
So take me down the road
take me to the show
its something to believe in
that no one else knows
but don't take me granted

I'm the blood on your guitar
I'm that wave you caught back in 1975
I'm as strong as a thousand armies
I'm as soft as pedal on a long stem rose
I am love

[Chorus]

I'm with you when you're born
You can take me when you die
With all the reasons why
But don't take me for granted

Tool

Ticks and Leeches

Suck and suck.
Suckin up all you can, suckin up all you can suck.
Workin up under my patience like a little tick.
Fat little parasite.

Suck me dry.
My blood is bruised and borrowed. You thieving bastards.
You have turned my blood cold and bitter,
beat my compassion black and blue.

Hope this is what you wanted.
Hope this is what you had in mind.
Cuz this is what you're getting.
I hope you're choking. I hope you choke on this.

Taken all I can, taken all I can, we(?) can take.
Taken all you can, taken all you can ****in' take
Got nothing left to give to you.
Blood suckin parasitic little tick/blood suckin parasitic little tick
Take what you want and then go.

Hope this is what you wanted.
Hope this is what you had in mind.
Cuz this is what you're getting.

Suck me dry.
Is this what you wanted?
Is this what you had in mind?
Cuz this this is what you're getting.
I hope you choke.

"Believe"

I was holding on, now I’m letting go
This is nothing more than a picture show
Everything I knew now I hardly know
Busy keeping less never getting more
One more nickel dime I’m out the door
This kind of life I can’t afford

I want to believe
There’s something to believe
I would live only just to believe
I’d love to believe
It’s not only me that’s longing
Only just to believe
Cos I want to believe
I want to believe

Can’t put my mind at ease with the words I say
Trying to get myself to get out of my way
Birds in the trees just make me depressed
Seeing sunny skies, feeling emptiness
Layers of lies just seem to fold
This kind of life is all I know

I want to believe
There’s something to believe
I would live only
Just to believe
I’d love to believe
It’s not only me that’s longing
Only just to believe
Cos I want to believe
I want to believe

Murder wears a friendly smile
Like the perfect end in a plastic vail
No pain
Sorry I can’t seem to stay
But this bird was meant to fly away
Fly away, fly away
Layers of lies just seem to fold
This kind of life is all I know

I want to believe
There’s something to believe
I would live only just to believe
I’d love to believe
It’s not only me that’s longing
Only just to believe
So believe
Cos I want to believe
I want to believe

I will believe
I’d love to believe
I can believe in something
I will believe
I'd love to believe
I can’t believe in nothing
I will believe
I’d love to believe
I can believe in something
I will believe
I'd love to believe
I can’t believe in nothing
