How so Harry? I’m genuinely curious.
First we don't know if Petzing played a role in hiring Adams. It can be really awkward to fire a guy and promote from within. Discourages coordinators from grooming unit coaches possible hard feelings if they’re close.

on reflection- I just can’t see a scenario where Gannon is able to bring in a high quality OC outside of dumb luck on some rando with the knowledge that the entire regime is on the hot seat.

It’s probably better to just start fresh with a new offensive minded coach

Really good point.. why would a vet OC take this job as the ship is sinking w no QB in sight? Wouldn’t be a smart decision

Daboll is available. Four years as OC at Buffalo. However, he was also the OC in Cleveland for two years and only one year at Kansas City before being let go. Not sure why, BUT, at this point I would try anyone other than Petzing. Unfortunately, it won’t happen during the season because you can’t change the philosophy so easily.

I will always remember Daboll for his year as Alabama's OC in 2017. He replaced Kiffin and it was a huge difference. The run game was the same, but Hurts couldnt throw the ball anymore. Jalen Hurts only had 2000 yards passing despite throwing to Calvin Ridley, Jerry Jeudy, Devonta Smith, and Henry Ruggs. A 700 yard regression from the previous season with Kiffen.

Sure Daboll looked good with Josh Allen, but that Alabama season makes me uneasy about him. Mike Locksley was an upgrade, a year later so was Sark. I'm more in the camp that Josh Allen was always good and suffered from bad supporting casts his first two years.

Ya - but you can send a message that this is unacceptable and fire him. It really can’t get any worse by having someone on the team be the interim OC for the rest of the season.

Id be for it absolutely. But how do you recruit Daboll here?
No QB
Regime only has 1 year to turn this around
Bad Oline
Your “lead” back in 30 coming off a major injury.

Job description kind of sucks. I wouldn’t take it

I hate this coaching staff

on one hand, i get why he has to say something like this

but that was the worst way to say it -- makes himself look like everyone else is wrong and he is fine with the play of the O Line

You can say this 100 different ways and he chose the worst way.

Just say we have lots of work to do based on the tape from last weekend. we need to improve

Just comes off as arrogance

I wanted to post these odds. I am surprised Gannon is that much bigger favorite than McDaniel.

What are we even doing here? 3 years in we CLEARLY are getting lapped by every team in the division. Our plan to catch up with the division is to stick with the same losers who's trajectory has obviously stalled out? We're going to waste half a decade to prove that Monti and JG are completely out of their depth?
We are updating the locker room by 2027

Yeah I think three years is absolutely enough. Both have to go.

Seriously.

Where were they running through walls trying to beat an absolutely PATHETIC Titans team? Or how about last year, with the playoffs on the line going into a terrible Panthers team and immediately going down 21-0 where they then had to play perfect the rest of the game… just to STILL lose to that pathetic team in OT and end all playoff hopes?

The expectations for this team are just comically low for a lot of fans of this franchise.
Gannon's best coaching job was easily year 1 when we clearly were tanking and managed to look mostly semi-competent despite the roster. Has since absolutely imploded last two years once games started to matter and expectations set in.
