If I cook delicious food, serve it in a warm, welcoming environment, offer great wine, and do it all with caring, not overbearing service, yet not enough customers decide to come to my restaurant, have I failed as a chef?
That’s a poor analogy. The chef and gm are alike in their responsibility to pick ingredients. But that’s where the comparison ends. First, you’re now comparing the customer (fans) to the ingredients (players), so not the same. Also the chef isn’t responsible for getting butts in the seats at a restaurant. That’s the responsibility of the owners, managers, designers, advertisers, etc. It is literally the GMs job to convince - with all the resources he has available - players to sign with the team. He’s part talent evaluator, part strategist, part salesman.

we are definitely not in a great spot.

1. Rest of the division is extremely stable at worst.

2. Kyler is definitely done here. Keim and Kliff if you recall tried to throw him under the bus in favor of Colt McCoy not too long ago. The relationship for sure cooked now that different FO tried same with Brissett. I have Kyler doubts but never made sense to do the anonymous source things as he was always going to be better than the other options.

3. QB draft class getting weaker and weaker by the day

4. Recent drafts not looking good. So doubt we’re an attractive destination for coaches, even worse with our ownership.

Fire Everybody!!! This Organization has shown no Heart Since Arians left.

I can easily be convinced that Michael is happy to eat $10 million (likely less) on Monti and Gannon than $40 million on Kyler.

These dunces have spent the past two and a half years saying how great Kyler was.

Sustained success is right around the corner buddy. You have to Trust the Process. Look how happy Philly fans are.

Mike McDonald:

A) was hired after JG
B) has the Seahawks defense better than Cardinals (both defensive HC's)
C) moved on from Geno and his OC Grubb after a solid Year 1 and got even better
Mike McDonald was hired into an org where Pete Carroll got fired for going 9-8. Not even a remotely similar situation to us. The Seahawks had the 4th highest win % of the 2010s.

The only way we were going to get near the top of the league in this division was a legendary draft class in 2024. The Rams/49ers/Seahawks have been consistent superbowl contenders for nearly a decade at this point, there are no easy divisional wins. The reason I'm not excited to start over at GM because of the 2024 class being mediocre is because that's not how it works. The draft is a crap shoot every year and no team nails the draft consistently.

Shanahan is an easy HOF head coach
McVay is a first ballot HOF head coach
The Seahawks as an org have more success than any of them over the last 15 years.

I think changing coaches/GMs if they haven't reached the top of the division after 3 years will make our chance of competing worse. It resets fan expectations, we've internalized that its okay to be bad with a new staff, but it doesnt actually make the team better any faster. Ball knowers have consistently complemented our coaches schemes over the last 3 years and we constantly play above our talent level. The main mistake has been a bad hire after Klayton Adams got poached.

When injuries pile up and you go up against an elite team with almost no injuries, bad loses happen.

Ball knowers know that impressive schemes mean nothing when your team is always bad. Right now this regime is losing two games for every game they win. We're barely into November, and already talking about draft 3 years into a rebuild. Oh - and also the roster is garbage, with huge holes in important positions. (Including the most important position!)

Why do Monti/Gannon deserve more time? It's been shown time and time again that it doesn't take 3+ years to build a team.

Loser talk. Every team in the NFL has injuries. Nobody cares.

The thing is it's just tough. It's hard to hire a good GM here anyways because of Bidwill, if you add in that they do NOT get to pick their own coaching staff just greatly reduces the pool. There's no way in hell I see Bidwill paying 3 coaches next year so unless there's a viable GM out there who's a Gannon fan it's going to be tough

Getting whupped was expected... but our OLine has zero injuries, this is the line that Monti and Gannon designed for success. This is also the unit that got destroyed more than the injury impacted units yesterday.

Other GMs make moves when the roster isn't meeting expectations.

Other head coaches either make changes or take over under performing elements of coaching when the play on the field isn't meeting expectations.

We don't have any leadership that seems capable of doing that. I don't blame them, it is who they are, mediocre leaders selected by an incompetent owner.

Example 4584 of why people like Bidwill are terrorists, holding entire cities and fan bases hostage while they fail over and over and watch their net worth balloon into the billions.
