Question on the fumble that wasn't

Not the one by McCoy we didn't get but the one 2 plays earlier by Gillislee. I was watching on computer with my sound off so I didn't hear but someone on the game thread said the refs called him down by contact.

What I saw was a RB trip and fall on his own, put the ball down on the ground, and then as he started to get up a Card defender touched him. To me it was a fumble and we picked it up and I was fully expecting us to challenge the play but we didn't.

So was he tripped by a Card player and went down or did the touch happen before he let the ball go or did BA blow it by not challenging?

Someone came up and touched him down just before he let go of the ball. Think he went to the ground untouched.

It sure didn't look to me like he was touched before the ball was loose. I looked pretty closely but could be wrong.
