He's trying so hard to say the right things. But nothing he says will ever be the right thing to say until he starts doing the right things a lot more often.

Sometimes he’s just fluent in stupid.

Sometimes Ayton leaves me speechless. I think it's best to look at his intent rather than his words.

Earlier in another thread, i brought up the nba radion bit. Cole Anthony was on before Ayton and James Jones, and it was world of difference between the two. Anthony, although probably has learned from his dad, sounds much more mature and way more articulate, also more in touch with reality.

Didn't see the game. I would think Crowder would make Ayton play harder was Jae talking to him?

I didn't see any specific interactions between the two, but I can say that the starting 5 looked vastly different with Jae starting last night than it did when Smith started. Jae brings a defensive toughness and he seemed to always be in the right place on defense, and I thought it made it easier for Ayton to also play well.

I like Stix. Seems mature for his age in interviews. Cool dude!
The speed of the game is too fast for him right now. He also looks small in the court, which is weird. I’ll be interested to see where his play is 30 games into the season.

More Paul talking than Jae. Jae seems to have a former teammate on every team due to being well traveled and seems to jaw with them a lot.

Smith does look smaller than his listed height says he is.

Jae was jawing at utah too.

i think I remember a story of Barkley putting a burger on the back of the rim?

Miller still never came close to being what he could have.
I saw Oliver Miller and his crew walking through Paradise Valley Mall.

His behavior was equivalent to that of an oversize adolescent.

You can't discount immaturity as a factor in what he could have been.

That's what worries me about Ayton...

But to be fair everything worries you
That's a vague response to a specific point.

'Care to make a detailed counter-point concerning the comparison of
Deandre Ayton to Oliver Miller in terms of inherent immaturity?

Ayton is more articulate in his interviews, but his lack of improvement
in weak areas, including the discipline of being available to play, limits
his potential.

Pro basketball psychology is a complex issue.

And, BTW, this would be a pretty dull board if half of the posts were
"The Suns are good, the Suns are great. Go, Suns." Of course we all
post about things that need improvement more than the good that
is expected of our team.

Not really. I’ll let you get into a conversation with 1sun about it.
