I find it odd we’d get the cash saving from trading Zack then use it on another starter way past his peak.
Would you pay Ray, Ryu or Baumgartner to head the rotation? If not what other option? Your gonna pay about 20-25m per year for a front line starter. MLB Collective bargaining agreement is up after 2021 season. There should be increases across the board. (The rich get richer).

Next year maybe Stohman and not much else appears to be hitting the open market.

I would take Bumgarner and would consider 5/$90 million...prefer less but am realistic about the market. The Dbacks, right now, apparently only have 3 guys signed for next year. Fit in Madison now and build around him next year

So top 3 FA's are off the board this early is a surprise, especially with them being Boras clients. Happy Dodgers get none of them as Rendon signs monster deal with Halos (7 years $245M).

No mention of Dbacks in the mix for Garcia.:(
Prior to the start of FA there was speculation ARZ could go after him due to him projected as a team friendly deal candidate but obviously ARZ seems to be focused more on trade candidates rather than spending money in FA.

I think Garcia might be asking for a little too much. There is talk that the Miami Marlins might be out of the Garcia sweep stakes because of his asking price.
