We’re not looking at a defensive coach or an offensive coach. We’re looking for the best coach. Really? Good to know.
I would like to think the decision to fire Gannon didn’t come yesterday.

I would also like to think they already have a wish list. Take that list and scratch off the top 5 because we won’t get them nor would Bidwill want to pay them.

Get ready for, “This was the guy we wanted from the start.” bolony.

Theo Mackie AZ Central (i think). He is one of the better ones IMO. I think he asked about fans feeling they are being priced out (casitas) and how Bidwill could justify raising ticket prices.
Thank you. That is great.

Monti sat there the entire shaking like a leaf. He watched his awful roster win 3 games, then tried to justify his job. Unreal stuff.

I do think they finalized the decision today. I am sure they have kicked around people they are interested in when they were discussing the move. I am not sure how many high dollar options there are going to be.

Speed matters most when you are not viewed as a great option, so I would guess their speed in getting a candidate will be mostly determined by how many candidates want to interview for the Cardinals job vs the other way around.

Well there are 6-7 openings. At best we will be the 6th or 7th team to sign our guy.

You're underselling - in a world where the very concept of journalism is falling to pieces, Theo actually asks real question, and isn't a state media agent.

It's shocking.

They literally asked Michael Bidwill, mid presser, completely out of the blue "Are you catering to rich fans?"
His honest answer would be “Rich? Sure. Fans? Who are we kidding?”

Has anyone heard from Kelvin Beecham?

There are two examples of why we should fire Gannon and his staff.

The Jaguars. They were 4-13 last year and 13-4 this year. They fired Pederson and his staff and then hired Coen. His staff has transformed their qb in one single off season. Coen coached under McVea a couple year back.

The Bears. The fired their coaching staff ( not the GM) and went from A losing record to winning their division. Again, in one off season. The Bears raided the Lions staff hiring Ben Johnson.

The blueprint is there. Look to winning organizations. Replacing a few pieces here and there is not going to do it.

Although some maybe most won’t agree but keep Monti if need be. Everybody else goes. Anything less is unacceptable.
The one year turnaround blueprint is very much there. You simply hire a competent coach. This team has more than enough talent to compete. Also interesting that the blueprint is to hire an offensive minded coach.

If I'm GM, we are taking a Klint Kubiak or Mike LaFleur. We are taking an offensive coach from our own division. We are drafting a QB, we are signing 2 or 3 of the top free agent linemen and we are making the playoffs next year, and then I'm getting my extension I deserve. It's not really rocket science.

one quibble here - you need to have a high upside QB that the new HC can get the most out of as well. We don't have that which is what makes this job so much more difficult.

What are you talking about? Haven’t you heard? We have a quarterback going into his eighth year in the NFL with very high upside. Just ask a lot of people around here.

To be fair, I think Trevor Lawrence is pretty mid, yet when you have a competent HC all of a sudden he's a pretty good player.

It will be interesting to see if who they hire wants to run it back with K1 or draft a qb rd 1 or 2.

What worries me is our buy low shopping when signing free agents.

Well, you’re definitely not gonna like this off-season then especially if they have to eat 20 million of Kyler salary to dump him in a trade….

If you want to compete in year one you’re going to have to go over the cap and deal with it next year before the start of the year.

Maybe he will use the extra $23 million in cap space he had from this year...

Do you think Bo Nix has a high upside?
Im mixed on Nix, but he’s immaterial to the conversation because what we’re talking about is how attractive our team is and that a good coach can come in and turn things around like the Bears and Jags. But even with Nix, he was a high first round pick that one of the best coaches in the league thought was the guy he could go to war with. And so far, in his first two years in the league they’ve gotten to the playoffs and are now the 1 seed in the AFC.

But again, the convo is about having a young high first round QB with potential.

We don’t have one of those for the great coach to come in and get the quick turnaround to elevate former #1 overall picks.

Yeah but we have the 3rd overall pick. There's definitely opportunity to take a swing on a high upside QB when drafting that high. Bo Nix was the 5th qb taken. Payton wanted to move up that year but they couldn't, I think he settled for Nix.
