Except that if Brissett could do this, it isn't all Petzing right? Both both had the same OC last I checked...
Totally, it never was ALL petzing in my opinion. But at the same time- petzing has proven an inability to adjust the scheme to his players he has and scheme his star players open over his career. I used to think he was a oline/run game guru but with the departure of klayton Adams, both groups have seriously regressed.

To get rid of one, but not the other would be a serious mistake IMO

There is something about a back up's first game in the line up. They come in and play loose and everything. Inspired.

It's certainly not impossible that we'll see JB crash back to earth.

But I still think I would start JB next week against GB. Let's let Kyler stare into the abyss a little bit.

All you Neil Lomax fans... you'll remember he got benched once. It straightened him out, and he came back and played better.

None of this is the point though. If the argument is that JB "Played up" because he was loose, then the argument is why isn't Kyler? Considering he is cemented into the starting job.

I recall that but the player has to be open to accept they can improve

It's going to be interesting when Kyler does his midweek press conference and the questions he's going to get asked.

Would not surprise me if he skips it this week.

There's a lot of pressure that tends to go with being a starting quarterback in the Nfl.

Can only talk for myself, but it's not hate.

But the team is in a situation, where we see glimpes of having a really good offense, but horrible inconsistent and horrible play for large portions of the game. I think many of us just want answers for what the heck is going on.

There are questions if it's Monti, questions if it's Petzing, questions if it's Gannon and questions if it's Kyler. For me this game removes a large portion of the questions on Monti, Petzing and Gannon (I'm not saying all). We saw a nicely executed gameplan with a back-up QB and that the receiver corpse being good enough without MHJ playing for most of the game, which leaves me with the majority of questions leading back to Kyler.
There’s a decent chance the Titans only win this season will have come against a team with Monti & Gannon’s handprints on it.

This what made your posts in the game thread so funny to me @Ouchie-Z-Clown

Several factors, like Hernandez playing the entire game and Colts losing their secondary for two, changed the game. There’s no question Murray’s play would undermine many OCs. That said Petzing does little of a creative nature. He stays with things that aren’t working. I think a team might occasionally win with him, but not because of him.

I wish Baker was our QB. So easy to root for, complete opposite of Kyler.

If Baker was the QB he’d drop a bunch of snaps.

JB had a great day. On the flip side, let’s not forget he had more pass attempts in one game than K1 has had in any game this season. After the horrid coaching and embarrassing collapse against the Titans, throwing the ball was always going to be the game plan. Kyler would have likely thrown for a ton of yards today too, just my opinion.

JB must have been fired up to start and start against his former team. Let’s see how he performs next week before we anoint him.
When did you become a Kyler apologist? Or did I miss it before? Because you've been pimping him hard since the game.

Don’t tell them that it goes against them celebrating today in a loss.
Deranged. Celebrating? The only one celebrating is you, thinking you've caught people celebrating another loss and the nail in the coffin of our #1 overall pick QB. Very strange and very on brand for you.

Lol so we have subbing JB for sneaks anyway - that comment is just dumb. Top flight defense? Their top 2 CBs were OUT. I think you saw how our D looked when our inferior CBs were out?

Give Kyler this scenario - 44 attempts - OCs job on the line - 6 Olineman in - and the Ds top 2 CBs out - team coming off the most embarsssign list in history.. ya he’ll at least get your 300 yards and L.

Proud big man you are of JBs loss.
I think JB could have passed for 500 yards and you'd be positive your boy could've done it. The blind Kyler homerism is strooong.

JB did a great job today, but we did still in fact lose. We will likely be 2-5 after next Sunday as well.

I just don’t understand all the Kyler hate today. Does anyone really think K1 is the reason for the 3 previous losses before today?

Are we forgetting how horrible the coaching has been?

JB is probably the best or near best backup in the league. His rating today was 89.2, which is great. Do you know K1’s average rating through 5 games played? 90.1

I just don’t understand why Kyler (for as mid as he’s been in his career) is getting viewed as this team’s problem this season.
Today showed that Kyler is, indeed, a major problem with this franchise. When your QB can't function properly in his role (and his backup can), you're not winning anything. When's the last time Kyler threw for 300 yards in any circumstance? A long time. Everyone thinks the offensive play calls and the receivers are the problem...well, not for the backup. Proof positive today that Kyler is not and never will be the answer at QB. Final nail in his coffin and good riddance. Now let's sent everyone else from Monti to Petzing out the door after him.

Obviously you missed the context
Thrown 6x for less than 200 yards in the same span as he threw 1x for 300 yards. There is no context where Kyler came out of yesterday looking anything other than bad. I mean, we expected the select few to stubbornly and against all logic defend their chosen one, but you don't seriously expect anyone else to swallow the nonsense, do you? Really?

The Brissett situation is complicated. He did face a weakened secondary, but Indy compensated with more stunts and blitzes. Brissett figured to be rusty and had to play without Harrison (I know the comments). Until this week Brissett likely got few first team reps in practice.

The negativism is Murray’s fault. You saw Brissett use the pocket. You saw him legally throw the ball away. The camera focused straight at him showing him using progressions. He showed no favoritism on targets; just get open. He gave single covered receivers a chance to make plays and they did. He trusted them. He played like an experienced QB.

Murray simply doesn’t play like that. He either hits the primary target or he flees. He looks like a rookie. He still makes panicked ball dumps. It’s sad.
This. This times a thousand. Kyler stans, please try to refute this.

I just can't get over the thinking that Petzing may be using a short list of calls because he can't open the whole playbook because of Kyler. I wanted to see if there was a difference in the playcalling because Brisset was in. My argument is that one week wasn't enough time to fully open the playbook for Brisset because the other players are not ready to run those plays. You need a good 2-3 games more to see if they can expand the playbook for Brisset.

So 9+ to 13+ less attempts doesn’t equate to far less yards. OK. Even at Kyler’s putrid 6.0 ypa. You get near 300 yards a game each time you do the math. BUT OK.

Absolutely not… what I do believe is nearly any mediocre QB that throws the ball 44 times in 1 game with the opposing defense #1 and #2 CBs out will likely eclipse the 300 yard mark. Thats not homerism, that’s a strong likelihood
