Sure, but one guy gets paid 45mil and the other guy 6 mil. You should be able to see more of a difference when the 45 mil guy can’t play.

It was a stunning performance for JB. Shocking. You sub in an absolute journeyman, and the passing game goes crazy.

DP, Wilson, Zay and the offensive line were all vindicated today, while K1 appears to be guilty.

Murray might only have one or two starts left in AZ.

If they really do go back to him, and the passing game starts to struggle again, I think I give him the hook man, I really do.

@kerouac9 i know you are claiming positive Kyler trade value is cope, but how do you see Kyler as trade down compensation for a QB needy team in an underwhelming QB draft class?

The QB class is odd. Players who played well last season are often struggling this year. Several QBs exhibit 2 way offensive potential. I wouldn’t mind taking a shot at one. Assuming the Cards grab one at 10, they’d be 5 years of affordability. I’m bold enough to think a few may slide to round 2. Much depends on who comes out. Some may have depressed their NIL price. Fun year to scout.

Exactly. There are some other variables involved, sure.

But as much as I don't like to say it, this was a huge data point indicating K1 is not running the offense very well.

It's not like this was prime Payton Manning coming in and suddenly electrifying the passing game. This was a middling, journeyman QB. A guy who could not keep a starting job on other (bad) teams. Wow.

So the next logical question then is, what would happen if we brought in guy with a little more talent than JB (and I know some of you guys are going no! no! don't change anything now! haha)?

Would the passing game run even better?

This doesn't mean K1 is a bad guy. Doesn't mean he wasn't talented coming out of college or that he's been a bum for his entire career here. There's just more and more evidence piling up that he's not the answer. Even the K1 Superfans like me have to start facing reality.
Solid post crimson. I know it’s not what you wanted to accept.

The Brissett situation is complicated. He did face a weakened secondary, but Indy compensated with more stunts and blitzes. Brissett figured to be rusty and had to play without Harrison (I know the comments). Until this week Brissett likely got few first team reps in practice.

The negativism is Murray’s fault. You saw Brissett use the pocket. You saw him legally throw the ball away. The camera focused straight at him showing him using progressions. He showed no favoritism on targets; just get open. He gave single covered receivers a chance to make plays and they did. He trusted them. He played like an experienced QB.

Murray simply doesn’t play like that. He either hits the primary target or he flees. He looks like a rookie. He still makes panicked ball dumps. It’s sad.

You ride your little pony boy as long as you want. It won’t be to the playoffs even if they let Kyler pass 80 times a game.
You make it sound like Kyler isn’t allowed to throw 20 yard passes. He does at times just not to good.

All year we been blasting MO for a terrible wr room, including me. But today, the same receivers Murray throws to dud a pretty good job.

Apparently you think Gannon , the OC, the line, the Wr’s, the play calling and the running backs are the problem, but not Kyler. Okay. Don’t fret my friend. The little guy will be back and you can carry on defending him when he comes up short.
lol you just made up a whole bunch of crap I never said.. avoided the facts I did say - to create a narrative that makes you sound correct lol. Man you can’t make this crap up

It’s too late then. You need the guy in your building and working with people.

Some team is going to have to move cap around to accommodate his deal.

I stated an opinion. You stated I was dumb and should come back with something more intelligent. That’s a fact. You need not reply.

JB did a great job today, but we did still in fact lose. We will likely be 2-5 after next Sunday as well.

I just don’t understand all the Kyler hate today. Does anyone really think K1 is the reason for the 3 previous losses before today?

Are we forgetting how horrible the coaching has been?

JB is probably the best or near best backup in the league. His rating today was 89.2, which is great. Do you know K1’s average rating through 5 games played? 90.1

I just don’t understand why Kyler (for as mid as he’s been in his career) is getting viewed as this team’s problem this season.
Can only talk for myself, but it's not hate.

But the team is in a situation, where we see glimpes of having a really good offense, but horrible inconsistent and horrible play for large portions of the game. I think many of us just want answers for what the heck is going on.

There are questions if it's Monti, questions if it's Petzing, questions if it's Gannon and questions if it's Kyler. For me this game removes a large portion of the questions on Monti, Petzing and Gannon (I'm not saying all). We saw a nicely executed gameplan with a back-up QB and the receiver corpse being good enough without MHJ playing for most of the game, which leaves me with the majority of questions leading back to Kyler.

I also don’t understand why they went into this season riding high on Kyler after his annual face plant last year either while also picking up his option hamstringing us next year also. They aren’t blameless in that situation at all.

Questions about the offense surely resolve around Kyler, but I don’t know how Monti and Gannon get off Scot-free for putting together the softest fourth quarter defense I’ve ever seen.

And they made the decision to ride or die with Kyler after witnessing him very meh in 2023 and then pulling his annual second half face-plant last year. He was a known quality and they not only decided to ride with him this year but I believe make sure his cap hit is already triggered to be pretty nasty NEXT season also. That’s on them. Period. If it looks like he’s failed, then their judgment he could succeed in the absence of any evidence, is a sign of failure as well. They can’t be separated from each other.

Yes, it's all "Kyler, Kyler, Kyler...". Which Rallis and Gannon sure appreciate. Our D yacked it in the 4th quarter of all four losses and I would argue the playcalling on Defense has been MUCH worse than how Petzing has called plays in the 4th quarter of those losses!

I don't understand what people are watching and why they are so focused on QB and just oblivious to this effing insistence on playing so much zone with 4 man rush.

Qb is just the natural lightning rod.

But the way this defense becomes the Tortilla Curtain come 4th quarter is laughable.

I don't understand it. Look at the 49ers game last year. We lead 24-23, they have the ball going down to kick a FG to win the game. Rallis calls a kitchen sink blitz and Jalen Thompson blows through, hits Purdy, ball floats in the air and White catches it, we win.

Have you seen a safety blitz even once this year much less with the game on the line?

Against the Titans we play the exact same coverage every play of the last two drives the Titans have. Rush four. Can you make it any easier on a rookie.

Then, today, on 2nd and 8, hoping to hold them to a FG to tie at 27, we finally blitz and get in Jones face and play man. He throws a terrible pass. Next play? Right back to rush four, zone coverage, Jones has no pressure and very easy read and completion by mismatching Downs vs our ILB. Have some damn balls. Bring the effing house and if they score a TD on that play at least you have more time on the clock.

This game gives even further evidence that Kyler needs to be traded and petzing should be packing

Actually nice to see a cardinals QB stand tall in the pocket and make some throws. Unfortunately wasnt enough today
Except that if Brissett could do this, it isn't all Petzing right? Both both had the same OC last I checked...

To be fair, I just watch one with Budda this game. Granted he fell down before he could come close to adding pressure.
