2013 CARDS MOCK DRAFT:

1(7)-

Eric Fisher – LT – Central Michigan
1st choice if available.

Chance Warmack – G – Bama
Warmack is capable of dominating in the run game and fortifying the pocket in pass protection. He is a physical, difference-making power blocker. An intimidating heavyweight with power, strength and explosion to become a perennial Pro Bowl performer.*

Dion Jordan – OLB - Oregon / Jarvis Jones – OLB - Georgia

Jonathan Cooper – G – N. Carolina
Very natural movement skills, hip flexibility and knee-bend. Superb in pulling and locating. Runs the field and can stay on his feet, striking third-level deep safeties. Keeps his feet in traffic and arrives in a bad mood. Excellent finisher. Exceptional functional strength — hip snap, shock and explosion. Effective six-inch punch and hand placement in pass protection. Outstanding upper-body strength — his 35 reps on the bench press at the Combine were tied for second among all O-linemen. Good stamina — operated in a pass-heavy, no-huddle spread offense. Outstanding character.
I'd be real happy with either Warmack or Cooper really. Cooper preferably in a trade down.

2 (38)-
Plan A –
Jonathan Cyprien – SS – Florida International –
Jonathan Cyprien has great combination of athletic ability, physicality and passion for the game is sought after by all teams. His ability to play free safety as well as strong safety will give a team much need versatility. On the field, Cyprien plays the game at full speed. He can fill run lanes aggressively, deliver powerful strikes and can close down pursuit angles. He is athletic enough to play in the deep third and shows the ran to get from the hash to the sideline while the ball is in the air. He plays with power and confidence, not afraid to take on bigger players. Cyprien has the agility and hip fluidity to run with crossing receivers and displays the downhill speed to close on routes.
Overall, he is one of the most complete safeties in this year’s draft class. While he wasn’t tested physically at his level of competition, he was able to prove at the Senior Bowl he can play at the next level. There is talk that Cypriend could end up going in the first round, but I think it’s safe to assume he hears his named called early on day two of the draft.
Plan B-
Alex Okafor – OLB – Texas - 6 5” 264
I like him better than Montgomery because he gets off the snap better. Good all around. Very Productive and pretty Intense.

Sam Montgomery – OLB – LSU / Demontre Moore – OLB – Texas A&M – Two more pretty talented guys from the SEC who have fallen in the process. Can't hate on SEC players. Watched plenty of them, bring em on. Will be productive, relatively cheap players.

Matt Elam – SS – Florida - 5 10” 208
Times and plays fast — flies around the field. Has a presence on the field. Intense and energetic. Has strong and free safety traits. Runs the alley and chops down ballcarriers. Good zone awareness and reactions. Physical, violent tackler — will deliver knockout shots. Has nickel and special-teams experience. Mentally and physically tough. Has NFL bloodlines.*
Negatives: Lacks ideal size to match with tight ends. Has man-cover limitations. Can be overaggressive and miss some tackles. Long-term durability could be an issue given his all-out playing style. Has multiple alcohol incidents in his past, and character and stability need to be investigated carefully and will require maintenance.
A compactly built ball of muscle, Elam is an active, aggressive, instinctive, competitive hybrid safety who brings a unique blend of toughness, versatility and playmaking. Day One starter who adds bite to a secondary and should play at a high level for as long as his body holds up if he can stay out of trouble away from the game.

Plan C – Zach Ertz – TE – Stanford – Brings NFL ready game. Good hands decent blocker.

Justin Pugh – G/RT – Syracuse -
Very Good quickness. Gets good position, can get to second level. Good puller. Short arms 32” . Tough kid , athletic. Position blocker. Smart. Will start at G right away.

3(69)-
Markus Wheaton – WR – Oregon St. - Know for a fact they'd like to get him here. About a dozen other teams are looking at him too. He probably goes higher than this.

Plan B- Tyler Wilson – QB – Arkansas
Gritty leader with intangables. Rate him slightly better than Nassib and Glennon.
Could be like a Neil Lomax. Must be taught sound reads (seeing mis-matches) and making sound decisions early. Great value if here.

Tyler Bray – Kid has got a rocket arm. Pretty good head on his shoulders. Has put on 20 lbs. Since end of last season already. He's ready to make the transition and learn on the job. Very high upside.
** will give team option of trading Hoyer for another 6th Rd. pick.

Plan C - Philip Thomas – S – Fresno St.
Nice ball awarness and solid all around. Many scouts like him a lot. Nose for the ball. Gets Int's.
http://www.milehighreport.com/2013/...phillip-thomas-scouting-report-denver-broncos

Plan D- Jamie Collins – OLB – Southern Miss 6' 3 1/2” 250.
Kid physical measurables are fantastic. Great attitude and motor as well. Still very raw in his understanding of the game. Mind ties up feet too often as he diagnoses the play. Good break on the ball and can close the distance quickly. A good tackler who looks to wrap up the ball carrier all the way to the ground. Flashes some good short area movement skills, quick lateral steps and at his best when he can roam downhill.
Developing in zone coverage and will need time. Has plenty of length and speed to match-up against more athletic tight ends. Must clean up wasted motion and learn how to flip his hips cleanly.
Must learn to play with more tenacity. Has all the natural tools, but doesn't bring A+ effort often enough. Above-average athleticism will garner a lot of attention, but may need a year on the bench to grow into a better all-around player.

Sio Moore – ILB/OLB – Uconn - 6'1 - 245 lbs.
Moore has above-average speed and plays with consistent understanding of the game. Stays on assignment, maintains leverage and can contain. Athleticism doesn't pop on tape, but he runs in open space very well. Average closing burst in the short-area. Good tackler. He does a nice job of wrapping up and staying square with the ball-carrier. Doesn't explode toward the play and seems a step late in recognition. Flows well once he wants to accelerate to top speed.
Really shines in coverage, whether it is zone or man. Coverage skills will carry his draft grade, especially with so many athletic TEs entering the NFL these days. Physical with receivers. Good pass rusher off the edge. Shows good flexibility when turning the corner and uses his long arms very well to keep blockers off of him.
Plan E - Barrett Jones – C – Bama / Brian Schwenke – C – Cal / Travis Frederick – C - Wisconsin
All above avg. good values here. May be available because of position.

4(103) - *Any player from above – then – Philip Thomas – S – Fresno St. / Shmarko Thomas – S – Syracuse /DJ Swearinger – S – S. Carolina / Shawn Williams – S – Georgia / Baccari Rambo – S – Georgia
You gotta love Rambo.

Plan B - OL -
I expect some good values here along the OL where potential starters can be had.

Brian Winters – OG – Kent St. - 6 4” 320 – Kid is thick and gets good push. All around good guard. Has played position entire career. A leader as well.
http://www.milehighreport.com/2013/...-brian-winters-scouting-report-denver-broncos

David Quisenberry – OT – SJ St. - 6' 5” 302 – Gives further good depth all along the OL.

Plan C - RB – WR
It's such a rediculously deep draft for WR's. This is where value meets need. There should also be a good RB here somewhere. All of the following would be options here.

1- Jonathan Franklin - UCLA 1- Marquise Goodwin - Tx
2- Christine Michael - Tx A&M 2- Ryan Swoop – Tx A&M
3- Montee Ball – Wisc. 3- Taverres King – Ga.
4- Stepfan Taylor – Stan. 4- Kenny Stills – Ok.
5- Michael Gilleslee – Fla.

5(140) - Any of the above OR:
Marcus Lattimore – RB – S. Carolina – 5' 11” 211
http://www.milehighreport.com/2013/...cus-lattimore-scouting-profile-denver-broncos

Brandon McGee – CB – Miami – 5 10” 193
http://www.milehighreport.com/2013/...brandon-mcgee-scouting-profile-denver-broncos

Chase Thomas – OLB – Stanford - 6 3” 245

Jon Bostic – ILB – Florida - 6 1” 24

Devin Taylor – DE – S. Carolina

DB's - Sanders Commings CB/S – Georgia - 6 0” 216 – Tenacious – Like him as a saftey prospect as well. ST's ACE

6/7-
Chris Gragg – TE - Arkansas - 6' 3” 244

Nick Kasa – TE- Colorado

Michael Williams – Bama – 6 6” 269

Dion Sims – TE – Michigan St. - Can instantly improve the running game. Has some catching skills

Rodney Smith – WR - Florida State

Zeke Motta – S – ND – 6 2” 213 – Sleeper here. Like him and Commings. Solid depth and ST's

Earl Wolffe – S – NC St. 5 11” 209 – Keim and ADub connection. Project

RB's - Theo Riddick – ND – 5 10” 201

ILB - Nico Johnson – ILB – Bama – 6 2” 248

Cards Draft A:
1- Eric Fisher – LT – Central Michigan
1a- Chance Warmack – G – Bama – If Fisher is gone.
1b- Jonathan Cooper (trade down) – G – N. Carolina - I Would rather trade back and pick up an extra 3rd Rd. pick from someone. I like Jonathan Cooper just as well as Warmack. If he is gone I'm all over Jarvis Jones – OLB - Georgia.
2- Jonathan Cyprien – SS – Florida International
3- Markus Wheaton – WR - Oregon
3a- Tyler Wilson – QB – Arkansas / Tyler Bray – QB – Tennessee - If Wheaton gone. QB to groom for future starter role. Both good value here.

6- Michael Williams – TE - Bama / Dion Sims – TE – Michigan St.

I feel like most of your guys in round 3+ are wishful thinking.

Phil Thomas, for example, wont make it to 3. Jamie Collins wont make it to 3. Schwenke wont make it to 4 at this rate - alot of people noticed him at the combine. All of those safeties in 4 besides Rambo and Williams wont make it to 4.

Even saying Fisher at 7 looks like it wont happen anymore.

Otherwise good draft. Im not a fan of Cyprien at all. Id prefer DJ Swearinger in the 3rd, I fell like thats the perfect placement for that pick.

Cyprian has a lot of teams attention. That's all I'll say on that. I wouldn't mind Phillip Thomas , Swearinger or Shmarko Thomas either, good year to be looking at saftey. Elam has some alcohol and other concerns, so.....buyer beware. There will be a lot of value at 38. Without issues.

Not saying Fisher will make it to 7. He's the obvious pick for me, that's all. I gave plenty of options if he's gone.

Players fall every year, as teams grab system fits/need based picks for themselves. Massie is a great example. Many deep positions available this year.

Speaking of Mocks. I just saw one that had the Cards taking Gerald Hodges OLB of Penn State.

Do any of you Pennsylvania folks know anything about him?
