pretty much every college coach would love to go to the NFL nowadays with the portal/NIL nonsense.

Although I think Lane and Bidwill would kill each other in the first 90 days. I think Bidwill would target Dillingham if he went the college route. Especially with him angling to get a new stadium approved over next 5-10 years.

Agree. Dilly’s leaving ASU in 2-3 years whether it’s for thr NFL or a football school, so if we move off of JG, my first call is to Dilly.

And I didn't think Bidwill would fire Kliff after giving him a 5 year contract.

Kliff's Cardinals contract is 7.5 million a year, which is offset by the 6 million salary from Washington. So Bidwill is on the hook for 1.5 million for the next two years. Firing Gannon would cost him another 3-5 million a year for the next 2 years (assuming Gannon doesn't get another gig. Not as bad as it could be but it is still pricey for Bidwill.
Not gonna feel sorry for MB to pay a third coach who got fired. Being an NFL owner is like printing money for the most part. Now MB isn’t in the Jerry Jones wealthy category but c’mon he’s not hurting. Be a man MB and make a change.

I don’t think Gannon is getting fired during the season but he better be gone once this crap season ends with Monti in tow. Time to start over again, maybe we will get lucky like we did with Arians.

This is how insane JG is, when asked about how they played the Packers before the half (the play that led to the FG) he doubled down saying it was the right play.

This is how arrogant and out of touch he is with reality. No, it wasn’t the right play. Yes, it did result in a loss.

As someone who is supposed to be a defensive guru the defense has grown to be the worst part of this team. I thought there might be hope after they forced a punt in the 4th quarter for the first time I think since week 1…Yet the Packers scored 14 in the last quarter while we scored 3.

There is no strength this coaching staff offers. Sticking with this will lead to people not renewing tickets. Idk if that is a motivating factor for Bidwill.

gannon gave up 14 points in the 4th quarter after vowing not to play like a wuss the 4th quarter anymore - worst 4th quarter defense in the league - we're setting records with our 4th quarter defense - nobody's ever lost in the 4th quarter as often as we do or how we do

1. The $100k fine doesn’t happen unless MB is really ticked off at the coach. There easily could’ve been some other punishment or the fine could’ve been private matter. Going public with it was a statement

2. Bidwill is an over-involved doofus, but a part of that is he absolutely loathes opposing teams filling the stadium and/or empty seats. And that is getting worse and worse.

3. He wants to be involved in the new NHL team for starters and various other big things around town. He’s less likely to get invited to these things if his operation continues to look like a circus act.

4. New stadium in next 10-20 years is the hope. Again can’t get that if your operation looks like a clown show.

Tea leaves saying JG is cooked unless we can win some games down the stretch. Kyler obviously gone as well unless he does a big 180.

4th quarter, 4th and 1, up by 3, on your own side of the field, and you run a QB sneak with your 32 year old QB up the middle of a line that hasn't gotten any push all year? Yeah, fire all these idiots.
The Cardinal Way….

Do you honestly think he is willing to pay three NFL HCs for the next two seasons?

Kliff is mostly being covered with the offset. Gannon is one of the lowest paid coaches in the league and will also probably find an assistant job somewhere for an offset.

The funny thing is we pay less than most major college football programs. The aforementioned Kenny Dillingham makes more than Gannon and not like ASU has SEC money.

End of 2025 - Fire Gannon
2026 - Monti hires new HC.
End of 2027 - Fire Monti
2027 - New GM is hired
End of 2028 - New HC is fired.
If you’re a GM and your first coach can’t get ONE winning season in his first three years and gets fired, you don’t deserve the chance to try and pick a new one.

I just can’t imagine any other industry where someone get to fail upwards that spectacularly with that much money invested.

Dude we’ve had 3 GM’s in the last 25 years despite being mostly awful in that span. And two of those were internal hires.

We fire head coaches all the time. GM’s here seem to keep their jobs though. Monti still sitting next to Bidwill at every game. I think he’ll make it through one more coaching hire.

Oh I do too. And why I have almost no hope for the next three years.

There’s no way Mikey admits he ish’ed the bed that hard with both GM and Coaching decisions right on the heels of previously ishing the bed with those ludicrous 5 year GM/Coach extensions after the laughable fall of a Kliff collapse of 2021.

It’s hard to imagine a GM in the NFL less-equipped to scout and select a high-leverage quarterback prospect. Didn’t do it in New England with Bill; with the Titans they drafted Malik Willis.

Man… thinking about Monti not only picking the next HC but the next QBOTF really makes me want to throw up.

Plus, watch the guys "pushing". You have your smallest RB and Higgins. Higgins didn't do a thing and looked like they've never practiced it before. He kind of just stood there waiting to block someone.
It was a god awful call and play.

Funny thing is, I like the aggression of going for it from Gannon. We've been turtling and he decided not to turtle. But that was fourth and a very long one and, as you say, we hadn't gotten any push. I was screaming not to sneak it there. Ugh.

Considering Gannon’s defensive background, if he can’t fix that part that ends it.
On TV Gannon said they might have to add another blocker to stop Parsons. However, they didn’t do that until it was too late. Obviously Gannon doesn’t control the offensive decision making. Parsons said,”The Cards allowed me to rush.”
