The Suns visit the Knicks today for a game scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m. Arizona time on FSAZ. This will be a chance for Suns fans to get a close look at Porzingis who is playing excellent.

Here is a game update from Scott Bordow.

Suns vs. Knicks game info

When:
Friday, 4 p.m.

Where: Madison Square Garden.

TV/radio: FSAZ/KTAR-FM 98.7.

The Knicks are 3-4 but had won three of their previous four games before losing to Houston on Wednesday. Center Kristaps Porzingis could be a matchup nightmare for the Suns. He’s averaging 27.9 points per game and shooting 33.3 percent from 3-point range. Guarding big men on the perimeter is not the strength of either Tyson Chandler or Alex Len. Rookie point guard Frank Ntilikina, rumored to be someone the Suns might want in an Eric Bledsoe deal, is averaging 4.2 points per game and shooting 30 percent from the field.

KP's brother (and agent) is starting to scare New Yorkers.

I'd like to see Bender matched up on Kristaps.

That will be a challenge. I think one of the things that helps Bender to be effective defensively is that he has the foot speed to keep up with wings, and then he has a size advantage over them.

He will have no size advantage on KP.

Bender is about as good of a defensive match for Kristaps as you can find. Kristaps is older, stronger, more experienced, and flat-out better, BUT when I think of an ideal defender to use against Kristaps, I think of Bender.

Kristaps is used to have the size advantage regardless of almost anyone who guards him.

This time Bender is a little more physically developed but the experience would be good for him. Would be good material to judge him on.

It would be great to see Bender rise to the challenge; we can afford for KP to get his but our bigs have to keep Enes Kanter and Kyle O'Quinn in check, too, and off the boards.

There's also Michael Beasley... except for one game he's been playing like crap - like he did for us, in other words. With another coach he might not even get on the floor but you know Hornacek is going to give him a shot against us. It's probably good that we have no players left that played with him, no one who 'knows' he is a POS so will treat him as they would any unknown guy.

I just love the movement and passing with this team lately. The players have confidence in each other.

But man Porzingis is so difficult to handle.

I think Porzingis and Markannen will be similar type players with their height and shooting ability.

Booker says I can shoot over the top of you, referring to Porzingis.

Warren needs to get going.

Ok what I do not want to see is Booker red hot and Mike James come down and just chuck it up back to back.

Yeah he's playing good but don't get a big head your job is to get it to Booker

Here comes Bender

Bender might be the only one on the Suns roster who can bother Porzingis' shot but he needs to stay out of foul trouble.

I hope Bender is taking notes.

The Suns defense is getting worked over big time.
