If you need MO and Top Gann to go 17-0 to improve their winning percentage to a respectable number, I am sorry for you.Oh, I want to be Mad Online about it. Gotta get all these feelings out.

I didn't say that, but a one-win improvement isn't enough. If you need MO and Top Gann to go 17-0 to improve their winning percentage to a respectable number, I am sorry for you.

I think that what @Chopper0080 is saying is that Monti and Gannon are trying to build a roster around Kyler robust enough so that even if he keeps playing at the level we've seen, this team can't help but stumble into nine wins.
This is similar to what Philly did last year where Sirianni went 11-6, made the playoffs, got rolled by Baker Mayfield, and Sirianni went into this season on the hot seat. Also similar to the Dungy Bucs in the late 90s/early 00s. They were 48-32 over five seasons with just one division title and two playoff victories.
How funny would it be if Kyler were our Trent Dilfer.
I'm actually the guy who expressed caution in blowing everything up after Kliff. I loved those Dungy Bucs teams (still have a Reebok(!) John Lynch(!) jersey hanging in my closet). I think the best thing you can do is be good enough to make the playoffs every year; sooner or later you're going to break through.

Pittsburgh has done a good job of remaining competitive while not over-extending themselves trying to push past Mahomes. Bill Cowher was 12-9 in the playoffs and in the Hall of Fame. Mike Tomlin is 8-11 and casual racists in the Keystone State can't wait to run him out of town.
Congratulations on the Trubisky/Danger Russ/Justin Fields Era, Steelers. Good job good effort.I'm actually the guy who expressed caution in blowing everything up after Kliff. First of all, the casual racists remark cant be further from the truth. The national narrative on Tomlin overlooks a lot, and the local narrative is pretty spot on: it's time for him to move on. It isn't working for him in Pittsburgh any longer. He has become another Whisenhunt, only his phrase is "The standard is the standard" to KW's "The system works." You quote his playoff record, but none of those 8 wins have come in, I think it is the past 8 seasons. I love that he's still their coach which, given my hatred of the Stillers, should say a lot.I'm actually the guy who expressed caution in blowing everything up after Kliff. Exactly.Congratulations on the Trubisky/Danger Russ/Justin Fields Era, Steelers. Good job good effort.
I think this is valid to acknowledge. There is a significantly worse world out there than having Kyler Murray as your QB. Those are the teams you really don't want to be. When AZ decides to move on from Kyler, they will need to have identified what that better option is.First of all, the casual racists remark cant be further from the truth. Personally, I would absolutely hate to be where the Stillers are. Their defense is massively overpriced and aging, they don't have a QB, their OC is worse than Petzing, their coach is happy just not having a losing season, and their owner considers no playoff wins to be "success," I kid you not. Even having Kyler is a better situation than what they have or can get at the QB position right now. No freaking thank you.
Yeah, the Stillers really screwed the pooch in Big Ben's last years. He was allowed to stay longer than he should have played, and they shied away from drafting a replacement because Big Ben hated rivals in the QB room. Now they're suffering for it, the fools.I think this is valid to acknowledge. There is a significantly worse world out there than having Kyler Murray as your QB. An example to watch in real time is the Vikings moving on from Cousins for McCarthy.
gladly acceptedHow funny would it be if Kyler were our Trent Dilfer.
Yeah we can't repeat getting back to the playoffs like we did in 2020 with an 11-6 record despite the fact he sucked at the end of the year.No wonder I'm not as high on the guy as some folks here... I must've been in a coma for those seasons!
I really don't expect this to be the case. We play the NFC South and the AFC South.Especially when 10 wins is enough this time.
Well, seems to me you have been getting these feelings out for a long, long, looonng time.Oh, I want to be Mad Online about it. Gotta get all these feelings out.
Yet were playoff contenders or in the playoffs every year.Congratulations on the Trubisky/Danger Russ/Justin Fields Era, Steelers. Good job good effort.
Yeah, no. The Stillers are a joke in Pittsburgh now. Once that defense ages out--very soon now--that team will bottom out. Tomlin hasn't been anything in years. He's Ken Whisenhunt part deux now. "The standard is the standard" means it's standard to lose in the playoffs, if you even make it that far.Yet were playoff contenders or in the playoffs every year.
I get the Steeler frustration with not making a playoff run, but to move on from Tomlin would be crazy. Look at their talent and yet they’re winning every year in a division with the Ravens and Bengals and in a tough AFC conference.

Yeah I’m not buying that. Acting like Harrison was running around open all year is disingenuous at best. He was wide open rarely, and blanketed often.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Remind me again, how may losing season has Tomlin had? Just because Steeler fans are fed up doesn't mean a thing. OSU fans wanted Ryan Day fired after losing to Michigan this past year too.Yeah, no.
