Not sure where the Cardinals are with Dan Arnold, but Fells might be an alternative.

Let me clear, I'd much rather have Arnold back on a reasonable deal, but if he goes elsewhere, I'd be Ok with a soon-to-be 35-year-old Fells. He'd be an asset in the red-zone Imo. Averaged 14.9 yards per catch last season with the Texans and had 4 TDs. Nothing more than a one-year deal obviously.

Well he is over 35 so he meets the requirements.
Just sign Arnold and let’s move forward.

He couldn’t hold onto his spot against a couple of mediocre options. He was once decent but he’s lost too much. Good guy

KC fan site: https://arrowheadaddict.com/2021/03/19/k-c-chiefs-darren-fells-end-zone-target-free-agency/

excerpt:

For the Chiefs, the idea of adding Fells would fill a role as a pass catching tight end behind or beside Travis Kelce if the Chiefs were interested. They’ve also brought back Blake Bell for a one-year deal to serve as their primary blocker, and Nick Keizer was also tendered an offer to come back, too, so it’s very possible the Chiefs feel content with what they have.

That said, Fells offers what others do not as a hands-first receiver who can step in for Kelce if needed. He’s an upgrade on Keizer and would be an elder/mentor in the locker room. Are the Chiefs already settled at the position? Are they even interested in a decent pass catching tight end other than Kelce? It will be interesting to see if any rumors emerge here.
