I can’t believe that there are like 13 pages of people that are aghast, disgusted, shocked, etc. Really??? Too many of you just haven’t been around long enough. This has ALWAYS been the Bidwill way. What everyone should be is ECSTATIC, OVERJOYED, AND THRILLED that this information has been exposed. No need to be upset at all. With MB having finally gone outside for a new GM, then letting that GM find his own HC, and then letting his GM & HC hire a staff, everyone should be over the moon happy. Now that everyone knows we lag behind the rest of the NFL as an organization, we should be excited to see what happens. Will it improve? It has to. Seems like we’ve hit rock bottom. But, we got rid of KK, SK, and 2 decades of a losing system. Stop whining folks. Be happy.

True. Could have slapped the year 1975 on this story and it would be just as valid. I am more surprised at all of the posts challenging the validity of the reports and how it impacts this franchise.

Maybe, just maybe, Michael would be better aware that his facilities & services had fallen behind relative to the rest of the NFL if he hadn’t had so many in house promotions over the years. If we routinely were bringing in people from the outside, I think they would have honestly brought it to MB’s attention he had lagged behind compared to where they came from. For me, it’s a great thing that this information has been exposed. Now, we’ll wait to see what happens.
Good point.

Yeah, having worked for (insert largest casino/hospitality corporation in the US) for a long time, all of the casino properties had an EDR/employee dining room just like that. Generally the food was kinda... overflow from the buffets, which makes it sound way worse than it is, but anyone working on property did get at least one free AYCE shift meal, or a set amount of swipes a month, so if they felt like doing both their shift meal and dinner, you could do that. But... you couldn't take anything to-go, which kinda lines up with the Cardinals' policy.

Still, I felt like that was a great thing for lower-income workers on property, since food might be scarce going home if you're in a minimum-wage role.

Interestingly enough, corporate was banned from this unless your office was literally on property, or a property employee got an exception to swipe you in. Some of corporate was based in on-property offices, but mostly we were in a separate building with no cafeteria, only a cooler with fast lunch options like cold sandwiches that we had to pay for, albeit with a discount.

(I was the head of AC marketing from Vegas for a time, so interesting to know we had similar experiences!)

Definitely a benefit for some of the lower paid workers.

I was the main copywriter for the property for eight months. That's as long as I could stand it, lol. :)

How did I try to spin it? I created the thread!

I can say it sucks and at the same time think it's not worthy of a massive pile on.

Sub par player facilities rank very low on the list of things I think are important. That's not to say its nothing but if it's cash to pay signing bonuses of star FA signings or improving facilities I'll go players every time.

"This sucks. Mike fix it" and not "Mike is the wooorrrrsssttt"
I don’t get it . . . I just don’t get it . . .

Players have eyes. Players talk to each other. Players already knew this and signed here before.

Nobody ever said "No thanks. I don't want your $10 million dollars because the weight room is shabby"
Nope they say I’ll take $12M to sign with you instead of $9M to sign elsewhere.

This reminds me of the movie Money Ball where Brad Pitt was trying to get the owner of the Oakland As to pay for soda in the facility. Its ridiculous that a multi billion dollar ball club would skimp on these sorts of things.

If JG or MO can get MB to stop penny pinching on some of this stuff they will instantly get more buy in from the team.

People notice these things. It's the same in corporate organisation's. If you invest in your peoople they are more likely to do more. It's all part of setting up the environment to enable success.

This is interesting that it is just the Cards current players that were allowed to respond not ex-players.

1,300 NFL players responded to the survey, which was sent to players on 2022 NFL team rosters. They could only answer questions about the team for which they were currently employed.
Wow. That makes this even worse.

You are a homer with no ability to fairly criticize this team's ownership. It's okay to own up to that. I own up to hyperbole at times and being a bulldog over certain issues. Hell, I even managed to offer a minor mea culpa to DVontel the other day. Can you ever, just once, not criticize someone who criticizes ownership? It's becoming cliché at this point.
In all my years n ASFN I’ve never witnessed anything quite like this. I think it goes beyond homer. But I can’t properly identify what it is. I’d say undercover paid shill, but I don’t think a professional would be this blatant. Frankly it’s breathtaking if you take a step back and view it as performance art.

This is not a defense of Bidwill in any way, merely a question.

How deep does an owner get into the day-to-day stuff? Could these policies be something stemming from Keim or former operations people? It seems to strange to call someone cheap when he’s one of the few owners to own a team plane and, as mentioned, he dropped millions a few years back to spruce up the facility.

Has MB ever been in the weight room? That sort of thing is usually way under the radar of a CEO.
He’s a guy without a day job that likes to be in the lockerroom and in the film room. If you think he doesn’t know how his operation is run I guess I could say there’s a slim chance of that being true. But it would be the remotest of remote possibilities possible.

This is a prime example of how crap these polls are.

What it actually said was "This past season the Club switched to a smaller plane, which limited the number of lay down seats so many players have worse seats and less space now."

The plane last year was the Boeing 777-200ER that they bought towards the end of 2021. The Patriots have two smaller 767's.

The 777-200ER is the 6th largest plane in the world and has 28 lie flat seats. The only planes that have considerably more are the 747-8 and Airbus 320.

Damn you Michael for only having the 6th largest plane in the world.

This is primo player BS. They get their own plane, own in flight catering, about 3 seats each, no toilet queues and they moan there are ONLY 28 Lie flat beds. ******* diddums.
It literally states “worse seats” and “less space” and you’re arguing against it. This comic gold. It’s gotta be a parody. Is this ASFN Punk’d? Cmon Shaggy, you can tell us! We won’t be mad!

Hilarious. Just hilarious.

Damn you Mike for only buying the 6th largest plane in the world for your players and only having 28 lie down seats when the longest flight you take is only about 4.5 hours and most are less than 3. Damn you.

If you really think this is a Mike issue and not a whining player issue I'm not sure what to say. Especially as that comment was likely just from 1 player on the entire roster.
But Brit doesn’t make stuff up . . . Lol

It's frankly hilarious that the people who want the players to have the best facilities in the league are being accused of being bad fans by the guys stanning for management in the face of a 31st among 32 ranking.

It's just wild.
You just summarized this entire thread in two sentences. Bravo.

If peeps getting twisted about an increase in tickets prices shouldnt complain if said money is being used for upgrading training facilty. Cant have it both ways.
This report says there are terrible facilities and food and treatment of families. Season ticket holders are paying more. Did I miss a thread that talks about the increases being used to flip these grades?

Disgusting & embarrassing! He better wake up like he finally did with the 2 clowns running the show before or he will lose the majority of its fan base for years if not forever. Wake up Michael

I'm happy this report came out.

Michael needs to be held accountable for the Cardinals suckitude. This report is EMBARRASSING. No way he can dodge this.
I agree... the key thing for me is what we do to improve these scores over the course of the next 12 months and beyond.

Some things - to my admitedly untrained eye - seem like they can be an easy fix.

We've got the report card. We suck. We may suck for a few more years... but lets aim to suck less next year.

Where do these numbers come from. Because my money is on the opposite is true.

When free agency starts on March 15th and within a few days dozens of players have signed for new teams none of those players have visited team. Every visit is public now. A player can't go visit a team on day 1 of FA without Schefter or Rapaport tweeting it.

During the tampering window that opens 3 days before players cannot visit or talk to any team or any representative of a team or meat them at a neutral location. Only agents can be in contact with teams.

And that's only the legal stuff. A lot of deals are done well before then. It's the open secret nobody talks about. As one agent said,

"I know many people will read that headline and say I am blasphemous. But the truth is, more free-agent deals get done the last week of February than when true free agency hits. The goal for agents is to leave Indianapolis with at least three "offers," then finalize a deal at least 24 hours before the beginning of the new league year."

Most deals are done, or nearly done, before the window to visit teams even opens.

Go take a look at all the FA deals done in the first week of free agency last year and see if you can find one that visited the team before the deal was done. Or look at he top 20 guys in FA.

The only guys that visit before a deal are back of the roster tryout players and the occasional vet like OBJ who wants a ring/glory and wants to find the right fit.

You know why there's 13 pages? Because a few (mainly one) people are weirdly, fiercely, and in all ways illogically, are arguing in Nickel Mike's defense.
