Funny thing is, I like the aggression of going for it from Gannon. We've been turtling and he decided not to turtle. But that was fourth and a very long one and, as you say, we hadn't gotten any push. I was screaming not to sneak it there. Ugh.
I think most of us were happy or at least not upset with the decision to go for it but we’re all pretty much pissed off at the play call itself

Contrarian take:

I have my issues with the coaching staff, but:

the fact that for quarters 1-3 they outscore people suggests to me a couple things:

the game plans are solid.
the players more or less execute them with effort.

the problem becomes: after 3 quarters -- opposing teams understand what is being done to them and adjust.

It becomes less about scheme and more about talent matchups.
In addition, whatever benefit you get from maybe playing 5% harder than the other team disappears with fatigue.

Against NO, CAR and TEN (including this one because that game was lost on extreme outlier events) -- the talent carried through

against better teams with better talent -- it didnt.

to me that says ROSTER problems are bigger than Coaching problems

Disagree. That's a coaching flaw. If you're better through 3 quarters and the worst in the league in the 4th, that's coaching/decision making/play calling.
The tush push was a terrible call. Even if they had converted it, it was a bad play. Giving GB even a chance for 3 at the end of the 1st half, which they took full advantage of, was bad decision on the KO. When playing this close of games, those things matter and the Cards are always on the wrong side.
The conservative play calling on both sides of the ball is the main issue in the 4th quarter.

No firings and zero accountability.

Looks like the entire coaching staff will be gone by the end of the year. Total idiots rolling with the same people that have lost so many games.

So, you're paying for 3 coaches?
Uh ya. Don’t get why people feel this is an absurd notion as other posters said, we really are only paying Kliff 1.5mm a year now bc of Washington’s offset and Gannon is one of the lowest paid HC’s in the league that will also be offset by an assistant job somewhere.

Do you have a link for that. Near as I can find he's not one of the 7 lowest paid coaches. It's been reported that he makes around 5 mil a year. I find it interesting that nobody really knows how much he is making at least reporting it.

Haven’t even searched just going off of what a few posters said. Dont think any has any bias to what JG is getting paid though ?

Yeah there you go again.
Earning power.
That's just not important to some people. Maybe the guy has different priorities. I did...still do in fact.
Curious how many $60m contracts you turned down?

60?? No...
But I turned down six figures when I was only making 20k at the time...and taking it would have turned into 15m about 4 years later when Fedx bought the company.
your an attorney...nobody expects you to fully understand principals and ethics.... I turned down that deal solely because I didnt want anyone else to be able to say they made me.that I would not have what I have if not for them....I admit, it was a pride issue as well....but the principal of the matter was that I did not want my success tied to nepotism.while I never achieved those heights....I have done okay without it...I can look myself in the eye...and my sons watched me earn every dollar.

Checking in at number four...

At 2–5 and riding a five-game losing streak, Gannon might be starting to feel some heat. The Cardinals went 4–13 in his initial campaign and 8–9 in his second. However, Arizona is sliding backward, something that was unexpected after watching general manager Monti Ossenfort added edge rusher Josh Sweat (four years, $76.4 million), defensive tackle Calais Campbell (one year, $5.5 million) and rookie first-round pick Walter Nolen to the front this offseason.

This is kinda funny. They highlight Sweat who has been good, Campbell who is 40, and Nolen who hasn't played as the keys to higher expectations in 2025.

No mention of the contributions from 2024 FA where Monti added Jonah Williams, SMB, Justin Jones, Bilal Nichols and Mack Wilson Jr.

People will probably lambaste me for this but I look at what Monti did in 2023 and 2024 FA and "what a waste" is the first thing that comes to my mind. I look at the his 2024 draft and I think "what a waste". It's why I can stomach the idea of him sticking around while Gannon is tossed out the door. Monti has had as much to do if not more to do with our record under Gannon and should not get a pass.

I think that Gannon is better at his job than Monti or Kyler are at theirs, but none of them are good enough to lead a consistently winning football program.

(Do any other iPhone users feel like their autocorrect has gotten significantly worse in the past few weeks and months?)

Still waiting for anyone to make the case that he deserves to continue on in his job. What has he done well?!?

Stays in budget. These low-level FAs like Froholdt (who has returned/been pushed back to mediocrity by the scheme shift) and Mack Wilson and Kyzir White have worked out and provided a lot of excess value.

Also I think the extensions for both Collins and McBride were done on time and without acrimony. I’d add in the ones for James Conner and Budda Baker as well.

I think Michael wanted a GM who wouldn’t be so public facing and that’s what he’s pretty much gotten.

To the draft and develop point. The Ravens have drafted and developed 3 stars (maybe 4 if you include Zay Flowers which I don't know that I do) over the past 7 drafts. Linderbaum was one who made an immediate impact, but because of his position, they did not pick up his option. Kyler Hamilton was what we hoped Simmons had become but in truth is also a S. The other player is Madubieke who they got in round 3 but took like 4 seasons to hit. Their version of Zach Allen.

So a pretty well run franchise had 8 first round picks in 7 drafts and came away with a star C and S/LB hybrid. Building through the draft is tough guys.

EDIT: And this isn't an excuse but just a reality of that strategy.

To be fair to Monti, Keim didn’t leave a great legacy of young and developing players behind. Zaven Collins and Trey McBride are the ONLY players from the 2020-2022 draft classes who are even regular NFL players. Everyone else is on the fringe of rosters or out of the league altogether (Big Mo on the Jets practice squad we believe in you king).

The good news is like 45 players from this 5-12 roster are under contract for 2026 so the foundation is real strong.
