I think it’s safe to say that Michael is looking for a reason to keep coach Kendall Roy. If the Cards lose out, he can’t. If they win two of their last three, maybe you can say they battled through adversity or whatever.

You can’t fire Kliff for going 4-13 the season after making the playoffs and then keep Coach Kendall Roy with the same or worse record and zero success to show for it.

Agreed, and the defense has the least amount of injuries but also the part of the team that has checked out. Bad look for a defensive minded head coach.

FWIW, I think Gannon has been pretty straightforward from the beginning that he’s entrusting his coordinators with playcalling.

His job, as i recall him articulating it, is organization, culture, and game management. Unfortunately, that’s been consistently worse than the play on either side of the ball.

We’re 21st in scoring and 27th in preventing scoring. What a disgrace.

I sure hope there is someone in the org that has the guts to tell Mike that even with reasonable health -- the team wasnt going to be competitive in the division this year given the deficiencies in the staff and roster

Was just about to post this.

Bidwill, M. is a tyrant and no one tells him anything in the organization.

Get ready for JG to be coach next season. Simply unreal.

Michael is seriously overestimating the good will he has built up with the fans if he keeps Gannon. The Arians era was a long time ago. If they trot out Gannon and Jacoby next year, how many people are going to actually show up? How much losing can the average fan take?
BIM and his wife are going to have to meet fans of opposing teams to have friends.

JG hasn't been good at any of that. Keeping him insinuates that, as an organization, you're completely fine being mediocre. Great way to build a good culture.

The thought occurred to me that Gannon after the fumbled touch back and the fine which emasculated Gannon making him powerless to enforce discipline with the team made him realize that being successful in a Bidwill owned team is impossible. I think from that point on he was a lame duck resigned to his fate. Gannon was forced to play a QB he quickly discovered was a liability and game planned to minimize Murray's backyard football approach. I still think unlikely Bidwill will pay three HCs but if Gannon is fired good luck finding anyone who will take the job based on recent events and the long established culture who would have a chance at succeeding. Maybe they find a Coryell but I am not betting on it. It will not be someone who has a successful career as an NFL HC. Any new hire will have to be willing to work cheap due to Bidwill's need to pay all the people no longer playing or working for him.

Dueling insiders

i literally have never watched a second of Succession so I’m just Trusting the Process here.

There has to be something more tight; I expect it’s inscrutable for like 95% or more of people here.
Like all great comedy, intended for the smallest possible audience. The "pew pew" Gannon intro was definitely big Kendall Roy energy.
