Would you fire Gannon if they don’t make the playoffs?

It is hard to be successful as a HC or an OC when your QB sucks. The team went all in Murray and he failed. hopefully, in the off season they will try and fix the OL and we will have better success with JB.
Lmao.. all in on Kyler would have been actually getting him an IOL this past offseason, getting a WR2 and canning Petz. They literally added nothing on offense and changed nothing on offense.

They did quite the opposite of all in lol

Rumors? Where did you hear that?
PHNX cards- said it on their pod cast last week. Venerable wouldn’t say who said it because it wasn’t info he is allowed to divulge yet- but apparently they have several considerations for a replacement OC (assuming Gannon doesn’t get fired).

If in the “ready to step forward” season, Gannon ends it on a 1-13 streak, and survives, after also having never even had a .500 record in the previous two seasons, this team is… well… going to continue to be the laughingstock they’ve always been.

wow, watching the post game press conference right now and Gannon‘s body language looks like somebody who knows he’s gonna get fired. Pulling at the neck of his shirt, wearing a hat, looking down a lot…

MB has to be super pissed that we are eliminated before December.

its one thing to have a bad season -- especially in a year where objectively the Cards have had one of the worst injury experiences in the NFL.

HOWEVER:

there have been too many multi-year outliers for this team:

-breaking the record for penalties in a game that has stood since.... 1936

-earliest elimination from the playoffs since 1986, when only 5 teams made the playoffs. 7 do today. BTW: a lot of bad Cardinal teams since then.

-0-7 in games decided by 4 pts or less. Ties an NFL record with 5 games left in the season.

-losing 3 games in a row on a final FG

-they lead the NFL in blown 4th quarter leads (i.e. game where they enter the 4th quarter with the lead and lose) with 3 blown leads out of 6 (50%). The NFL median is ~20%, or 5-1 in that situation.

-2-9 in one score games. Even this is worse than it looks. the 2 wins (NO and CAR) were the result of a multi score lead getting far, far too close in the 4th quarter.
