And what happened to Johnnie Bryant?

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Got to cut him some slack on there because he was clear that Bryant was HIS favorite and not the favorite for the job. He didn't pretend he was offering insight into the selection process like he usually does.

Yeah, he said he was his favorite, and him getting to 2nd choice out of 15 does actually support him having legit sources to me.

If someone is supposed to have inside sources, what are we to think?

Ok, I guess I missed some context there and was going by the tweets alone.

Something needs to happen for me to go that level. I think he got lucky and road that luck after the CP3 trade. I also supported Bryant and liked him, although I was a Quinn #1a and Bryant 1b guy. If JJJ happens, I'll put stock in his claims.

So - i hesitate to even say this because I know how much so many of you hate him - flex just said our target in a 3 way deal is jaren Jackson.

That seems impossible to me, because I just think that’s too good to be true, but if it is I would be very happy if they can pull that off.
To confirm, you mean we hate FLEX, not Jaren Jackson Jr. LOL

Jaren Jackson Jr is a pipe dream, I see no way that's happening unless Jackson himself said he wanted out.

That would be a total shocker if the Suns kept Devin Booker and traded for Jaren Jackson Jr.

It would be almost on the level of Luka Doncic being traded to the Lakers.

If we trade away Booker and Durant and don't get any of our own picks back we're not going to be winning even 20 games and it's going to last a lot longer than 2 years.

I don't see any scenario, barring hitting absolute gold with a late pick, where we play meaningful basketball over the next 8-10 years. So, if we don't get our picks back, I'd rather aspire for mediocrity.
Except you’re still going to get pure crap. Booker couldn’t even get mediocrity this year with another All-Star next him and has NEVER gotten even mediocrity without another HOFer next to him still playing at a high level. And there ain’t another HOFer coming to lift the team.

Might as well get as many first round picks as possible in multiple drafts. Yes, the pick swaps will still hurt, but after that we’ll have more picks that could still be mid-rounders where we can at least start putting pieces on the court. I know you’d rather cut off your nose to spite your face because you’re a Booker homer, but a guy who didnt even make the All-Star team this year ain’t leading us to mediocrity. Have you already memory-holed our absolutely PUTRID record this year without KD? And I’m not just talking like below .500. I think Booker was something like 2-16 without KD.

We’re gonna be something closer to that than the fantasy of us being a first round playoff loser. And anywhere in the middle is beyond pointless.

Yeah… that would be highway robbery. No way that happens.

I mean I have to agree, I have no idea why they would want to move him, he may very well have said he wanted out but even so to me he might be more valuable than KD considering how much younger he is.

Ditto. I think that’s impossible. But would be overjoyed.

I saw him say to keep eyes on Memphis, but when/where did he mention JJJ?

If it’s Memphis and the rumor is real, it’s probably for Bane and filler… at best. No way JJJ is involved.

You mean a team built by James Jones to get the most out of KD as possible, as he claimed that was priority last off-season, wasn't good without KD? It wasn't good with KD either. Remember, the guy who was supposed to lead us to contention and worth sacrificing half the rotation and almost a decades worth of tradeable picks for? It was a dumb move then and some of us pointed out this is where we're headed. Now we're here.

This isn't about being a Booker homer, it's about being a Suns fan who doesn't want to see this team hand over lottery picks for the next 7 years. Keeping Booker and retooling around him is better than sending the face of the franchise away, against his wishes, to make us a bigger joke over the next 7 years.

I think he could be late to the party, honestly. I did some searching because I remember talk of JJJ being used as potential bait in a deal to upgrade around Ja and when the season ended it was rumored briefly but didn't have any lasting legs.

Still digging through Twitter to see where I saw something about JJJ that caused me to say this months back....

Ive heard rumblings on Twitter that Jaren Jackson Jr will be used as trade bait for Durant. I hope there's some truth to that.

Trade machine looks a little difficult. Memphis has some deals expiring which changes their cap situation also. A deal involving JJJ, Clarke, and Konchar for KD works though. Need to be a pick involved, at least, and probably undoing swap rights on the pick Memphis has swap rights to already. We'd have a good frontcourt with a defensive focus then. Maybe call Vogel back?

Probably means nothing, but according to his Insta Jeremy Sochan (Spurs) is in Phoenix.

Vassell, Barnes and Sochan works in a trade for Kevin Durant. Presumably, additional draft picks would be sent the Suns way.

No, I think we should trade Booker, I am just aware of the fact that it isn't going to happen.

I have said this many times.

Hell, I predicted this as a likely outcome of the idiocy of the KD trade, that it would likely cost us Booker to dig our way out of the impending disaster... however, it is clear that the team isn't going to do it.

The maximum that team is is a play-in team. Who on that team besides Dunn and Gobert are scrapping out there?
I think they could be a late seed team. Higher than that it’s doubtful. Making a run is even more doubtful but defense matters IMO.

Flex is saying the Spurs aren't out of it.

Who is reporting they are?

The Spurs might actually be the favorite at this point in time.
