There’s zero argument for Trae Young having “emptier” stats than Jalen Green. Trae Young is a far superior player offensively and it’s not like Jalen Green has ever been known for his defense. PHNX is just trying to create summer content.
LOL definitely on brand Gator. I find it funny that you and Phrazbit hate Jalen Green so much. It's bizarre.

Well, first your discounting the eye test, and then second, since when did Book enter this conversation? Nobody is going to argue that Green is better than Book.

I don't like Trae Young, that's no secret. That great offensive player couldn't get his team past the play-in in the Eastern Conference. Green was the leading scorer on the #2 seed in the West.

It's enough to overpay for Book. Should not overpay for Trae Young as well, especially gifting away Maluach before giving him a chance to develop. It's not like the window is closing. It is closed.

No interest in Trae Young but he is worlds better than Green.

Young is an all-star caliber player with some big flaws but one of the best purely offensive players in the league.

Green is a chucker who can't shoot.

I think they're both awful matches for Booker.

young led the league in assists last year - last time we paired 10+ assists with devin booker and sprinkled some youth on it we went to the finals

Young's 1st and 2nd instincts are to shoot himself and he passes for assists, he isn't a ball movement guy, he IS the offense, it sticks with him until he shoots or he passes it to someone that he expects to shoot.

Pairing him with someone like Booker is a waste of both their strengths. Young is also an abysmal defender.

I think a hypothetical trade of Young for Brooks and Green does probably make us better, for a brief time, and then we'd have to extend him, further locking us into a team that has no hope of anything but getting destroyed in the play in.

I also think Booker and Young would hate playing together.

I also don't think Atlanta does that trade. It does nothing for them. They'd be better off letting Young walk in free agency.

So you have no argument other than not liking Gator's because Jalen scored a lot on a 2 seed but that didn't help in the postseason when they lost to the 7 seed.

Green is young and has potential but he doesn't have the track history or consistency to claim he alone is better than Trae. I don't like the rumored deal because Maluach is included but some other way to make it happen would be a plus.

Atlanta has two seasons left on Young's contract. Young wants an extension now. Atlanta wants to see how this season goes. Anyone that trades for him has to consider he wants a max contract.

He's an exciting player, I'm not sure you can win playing his style though.

Suns would need a SSOL style offense with Trae Young, but they appear to be going a different direction.

nor I, but exciting while losing is my choice over boring while losing:)
I can see the draw. And I guess I'd be okay with it - it might not give us the ceiling we'd like but it would likely raise the floor considerably.

I would of loved to draft Trea and have him on a rookie contract. After that he is a big ?

In the 2018 draft, the Suns could have drafted Jaren Jackson Jr., traded for Shai, and selected Jalen Brunson as their backup point guard.

Of course, the Suns could have gone the Luka route as well.

How about extremely frustrating while losing? That was our calling card last year.

I think the lowered expectations will help mitigate any pain the scoreboard or standings may bring. Expect nothing and be surprised if we become something.

I just want Maluach, Dunn, and Fleming to develop and show some flashes. Anything more than flashes from those 3 is gravy.

I would like to see us closer to the play in race than bottom of the conference also. Not a high bar to clear if these kids are properly....

Young and Green are apples and oranges. PG and SG. We need a PG to go with Book but not the type of guard that Trae is.

I will keep an open mind on Green. He is more likely to learn to play D than Trae. He showed some flashes at the beginning of last year. Green will have to learn to play pg and I have no confidence he can do that. He has an opportunity with a new environment.

Oh and yeah. Trae is the better player, of course.

Of course, I could have won the lottery multiple times, but...

Live and learn, I say.

I love the size of Fleming, his outside shot and rumored work ethic. Ugh, still only mid August.
