Remember picking in the top 5 you have 4 picks in the top 101 depending on weather there are any compensatory picks at the end of round 3.

1. Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson

2. Josh Beekman, OG, Boston College

3. Tanard Jackson, CB/FS, Syracuse

4. Tony Taylor, ILB, Georgia

1: Joe Thomas
2: Marcus McAuley or Michael Bush, whichever is available
3: Fred Bennett if we took Bush, and probably same if we took McAuley too.

darnik, with Calvin Johnson rated #1, you have no credibility with me. Tell us honestly, how many games have you seen CJ play?

Yea Calvin Johnson is a Horrid pick only a fool would rate #1 or even close. Hell even Mel Kiper Jr. has had him rated #1, what does he know...?

How good is Levi Brown?

13 Levi Brown OT Penn State 6-5 324 Sr.

If Joe Thomas is not available and one of the 2 QB is still there, I can see a team wanting to trade up to get the QB. If the Cards traded down into the 11-13 range, there could be 2 CBs and Levi to choose from.

How does this boards experts feel about those 2 CB and Levi?

I just looked at the teams in the 11-14 spots and they don't need a QB, so a trade for a QB won't happen there. The only QB trade up I see possible is Tampa or Min at 7 and 8.

First of all, I agree with Skkorp that Calvin Johnson is more than a tad over-rated. He's a fine physical specimen...and has very good hands, but he's not a burner, per se...and he's more of a perimeter WR, not a guy who thrives on exploiting the middle.

When all the players grade out...here's my prediction of how they will grade (after the combine and personal workouts):

1. JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU. Rare skills...great size...effortless passer...needs to refine the mental aspects of the position.

2. Alan Branch, DT, Michigan. A real stud in the middle...a 3 down player, not just a run stuffer...raw strength and superior motor.

3. Joe Thomas, T, Wisconsin. Will grade out very well...can power you and finesse you...gifted athlete...fine competitor.

4. Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma. Supremely talented in all areas...39 TDs in 3 years...yes, the injury issue will be a slight deterrant, but Peterson will dispell all doubts when he puts on a show at his personal workout.

5. Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville. Rare athleticism and motor...and 19 years old...young and relentless...has great leadership instincts as well...a tad short, but winds up in the offensive backfield play after play.

6. Ted Ginn, Jr., WR. Ohio St. The NFL scouts drool over speed...and Ginn will have them drooling into their stopwatches at his personal workout. With Devin Hester's impact on the Bears' success this year in the scouts' minds as well, Ginn will be a trendy pick. Guaranteed lock in the top ten.

7. LaRon Landry, S, LSU. A Rodney Harrison-type enforcer with FS range. Tough as they come, mentally and physically.

8. Reggie Nelson, CB/FS, Florida. Most versatile player in this draft...can do it all...cover anywhere on the field...best ballhawk in the draft.

9. Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame. Has good size and arm strength...has been very groomed to play at the next level. Tends to press too hard in big games...needs to rely on his supporting cast.

10. Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech. Perimeter standout who can go up in crowd and snatch the ball. Has very good hands...uses good leverege...but thus far not a dynamo exploiting the middle of the field...and, like Skkorp said, he doesn't get as much separation as one would like for a top 5 WR.

I would love the Cardinals to trade down to #8 (add an extra 3rd) and go:

1. Reggie Nelson, S, Florida.

2. Michael Bush, RB, Louisville.

3a. Mkristo Bruce, DE/OLB, Washington St.

3b. Tony Ugoh, T, Arkansas.

4. Tarrell Brown, CB, Texas.

5. Corey Anderson, FB, Tennessee.

6. Jared Zabransky, QB, Boise St.

That is after we re-sign LD (ARI), and sign T/G Eric Steinbach (CIN), WR/PR Shaun MacDonald (STL), OLB Cato June (IND) and CB Asante Samuel (NE).

2. FS Brandon Meriweather - Miami
3. C Ryan Kalil - Southern California
4. RB Antonio Pittman - Ohio State

LOVE the first 3 on this list.... Other than Merriweather's foot stomp in the brawl. If they don't like his attitude I could see Bush in the 2nd.

I was at the legendary state title game in Louisville when Brohm (Trinity High) beat Bush (Male High) for the title.

Bush looked like Jim Brown in that game. and he played QB. Right up The Wiz's alley.

Ah, Beerz, the sarcasm misses if you consider history. I trust my own eyes more than the "experts" opinions.

The experts loved David Terrell, Ryan Leaf, Andre Wadsworth, Gallery and many others who sucked. In my case, I don't express opinions on guys I have not seen and I'm not shy about supporting players who impressed me but didn't get the experts attention.

I like QB Troy Smith. Most don't. I don't like WR Ted Ginn. Most do. I don't like QB Brohm from Louisville. Most do. I don't like either Penn State player --Posluszny and Levi Brown -- but I love TE Zach Miller from ASU. I don't like TE Greg Olsen, he plays soft and is a poor blocker.

Many others, I have no opinion on. Notre Dame players Victor Abiamiri and Ryan Harris should not be in the top 100. They are overrated.

I'm torn on Jamarcus Russell. Huge talent but I only saw him twice and once was against that horrible Notre Dame defense. So, I'll refrain from judging him.

If the Cardinals draft the way Pittsburgh does...here it is:

1. Alan Branch, DT, Michigan.

2. Josh Beekman, G, Boston College.

3. Jay Moore, DE, Nebraska.

4. Matt Spaeth, TE, Minnesota.

5. Willie Gaston, CB, Houston.

6. Jesse Allen, FB, Virginia Tech.

Power football, baby!

He's hands down the top prospect in this draft. This isn't a mock draft, although the chances of him being taken #1 are high. I've seen quite a few games as well as some coaches tape on him.

To go to 11-13, I would want at least a 2nd and a 3rd back, if not two 2nds....

Here is a trade value chart. It's not gospel, but it is something NFL teams stick fairly close to. According to it if the Cardinals traded down to the 12th pick, It would be worth a 2nd and a 3rd or 4th. It wouldn't be a bad move at all for them. Levi Brown is a very good LT prospect. He looked extremely good at the Senior Bowl. The 5th pick would be too high to take him, there's a chance Miami will be considering him at 9 though. Miami would be a good trading partner, because they will probably have their eyes on one of the big DE's that will be available at 5, but gone at 9. Based on the chart, and again it's not gospel, trading down to 9 would be maybe worth a 2nd, but more than likely a 3rd and a 4th. It would all depend on Miami's desire to move up.

As for Johnson, refer to my post on the next page. Jared Zabransky? Maybe as a UDFA. He has really no chance at all to be drafted. Someone will sign him and give him a shot I'm sure. I'm not certain...but I am 95% positive he didn't get invited to the combine.
