Lets face it the bulk of the roster is already set which is why Urban has put out is OPINION as to 44 players he thinks is a lock to make the team, 14 bubble players fighting for the remaining 9 spots, and then 16 players who dont have a shot.

http://azcardinals.com/blog/blog.php?author=1

Nothing really earth shattering except for his thought that Elton Brown doesnt have a shot but Ross and Leslie do. He also thinks LSH is on the bubble, to the horror of most on this board. I think he still makes it but I dont think he is as much of a lock that everyone is making him out to be.

So with Urbans help here is my own final 53. Note that like Urban said there could always be a couple of final free agent or waiver wire pickups, so I noted some of the guys that could be first to go to make room for one of those final pickups (Ross, Ware, Byrd).

QUARTERBACKS
Kurt Warner
Matt Leinart
Brian St. Pierre

WIDE RECEIVERS
Larry Fitzgerald
Anquan Boldin
Steve Breaston
Jerheme Urban
Sean Morey
Early Doucet

RUNNING BACKS/FULLBACKS
Tim Hightower
Beanie Wells
Jason Wright
LaRod Stephens-Howling*
Dan Krieder

TIGHT ENDS
Stephen Spach (coaches love the kid)
Ben Patrick (note he doesnt count against the roster until game 5)
Anthony Becht (only decent blocker of the bunch)
Dominique Byrd (Not becuase I think he is awesome or anything just because they dont want Pope on the roster anymore, plus he could be the first to go if we make a final pickup and we just go with two TE's until Patrick comes back.)

OFFENSIVE LINE
Lyle Sendlein
Reggie Wells
Mike Gandy
Levi Brown
Deuce Lutui
Brandon Keith
Herman Johnson
Melvin Fowler
Oliver Ross (he is the only backup tackle on the roster, he has to stay, Will be one of the first two go if there is a waiver wire pickup)

DEFENSIVE LINE
Darnell Dockett
Bryan Robinson
Calais Campbell
Kenny Iwebema
Gabe Watson
Alan Branch

LINEBACKERS
Chike Okeafor
Bertrand Berry
Clark Haggans
Karlos Dansby
Gerald Hayes
Will Davis
Victor Hobson
Ali Highsmith

CORNERBACKS/SAFETIES
Adrian Wilson
Antrel Rolle
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
Bryant McFadden
Greg Toler
Rashad Johnson
Aaron Francisco
Ralph Brown
Matt Ware
Michael Adams
(10 total DB's seems like a lot but it is what it is, Ware could be one of the first to go if a final pickup is made)

SPECIALISTS
Mike Leach
Neil Rackers
Ben Graham

I would be shocked to see Elton Brown cut, and Oliver Ross kept.

I understand the reasoning, but even so I think Brown is a better OT than Ross. Oliver Ross is horrid, I think DRC is a better back up OT.

Good list Joe. Personally, I would rather keep Dykes at the expense of Ware or R. Brown.

I dont think he is. Brown has only played a few times at OT sparingly. There is a reason they dont even let the guy practice there. Elton is the fattest, sloppiest guy on OL and even he would be worse at OT then Ross is. Elton is a fat sloppy hot mess right now. Would rather go with the guy who is trying his hardest then the one who doesnt even care. There is a reason Urban has him as not even on the bubble.

Maybe, but I cant say that for the simple fact that we dont know what Dykes can even do. We havent seen him take any snaps in a real game yet. So I went with a known rather then an unknown, in this case.

Good list Joe and I agree with most of it. I would still replace Byrd with Pope as I think they will give him one *last* chance. Glad to see Watson and Branch on here as I think the Cards keep them too.

You make a good point. My thought is that Dykes was making some noise before he got hurt and I doubt he makes it through waivers. K.C. has zero pass rush so I could see Haley grabbing him. I would hate to see him tearing it up with another team. Also, I've seen enough of Ware and Brown to not really care if they're here or not.

Didnt Elton Brown fill in quite nicely when Levi was hurt last year at Tackle?

I dont think it was last year it was in 07, Levi's rookie year. And I dont think he filled in nicely, maybe nicely compared to the junk Levi put out his rookie year. And we are talking about RT here, that job is Herman Johnsons, Elton Brown at LT would be the same sloppy hot mess his body currently is.

I can see it either way. Lets face it both guys would be on the inactive list most weeks anyways, so maybe potential wins out in this case.

The two practices i saw at camp I thought Elton Brown looked very good. He stonewalled everyone in the pass rush drill and was getting push on run plays. He looked better than Lutui or L. Brown in those drills.

Maybe i just caught him on the good days?

I can tell you right now the Cards are not going to cut Elton Brown. He will be on the roster after tomorrow.

has Highsmith done enough to earn a roster spot? Can he stay healthy?

Otherwise I agree with the rest of your list.

I would rather have Palko than BSP... as has been stated multiple times, if we get that far down the QB list it won't matter much anyway... and Palko is more fun to watch if I am just watching because it's a Cards game and they are already out of it...he is cheaper than BSP too :)

Dominique Byrd (Not becuase I think he is awesome or anything just because they dont want Pope on the roster anymore, plus he could be the first to go if we make a final pickup and we just go with two TE's until Patrick comes back.)

Who is they, Joe?

Its just a prediction, plus some things some of the radio guys in the valley have been saying, nothing concrete just hints and speculation.

So what sources do you have that the man who works for the team does not have. Becuase your opinion is drastically different then that of Urbans, who doesnt even think he is even on the bubble. Inquiring minds want to know.

Just my pure speculation Joe, that's all. He can play tackle and guard and knows the system, even though he's looked sloppy this year. Will they keep him instead of Ross, or not keep neither of them is anybody's guess.

Big Baby looked good at RT against Green Bay's spares. Levi, BIGjr, Brown better step it up.

Dude, can you please stop referring to Elton Brown's body as a "sloppy hot mess"? It's seriously making me almost throw up. Can't you just say he's fat and oiut of shape?

Ross was absolutely awful tonight. He had the worst game of any on the oline. If they cut E. Brown and keep Ross, it's a bad mistake. I really don't care what Urban, joeshmo or even Whiz think about it.
