Reddick literally made a crucial 4th & 1 stop against Cincy....
I agree with yours and other's posts in reply to mine.
As I said Reddick is looking better, I hate to say it, but to the point where you have to start thinking about resigning him. :shudder:
YET, he is not a 3 down linebacker, and he still is "learning the position" in year 4.
He is still pretty poor at shedding blocks, which is a surprise since he was a DE. And he misreads too many plays and is way too slow to recover.
The best way to describe Reddick is he would not be a starting LB for the Seahawks, all three of there starters are far better than Reddick.
He is a coverage linebacker right now, a role player being asked to start.
That all being said, he is improving. I made it a point to make a mental note, that in last weeks game, Reddick: read the play, filled the right gap, and made a tackle for a 1yd gain.
Might be the first time I saw him do that clean, but regardless he did it, and well. He builds on that, and he could become a 3 down player and be more effective.
There are also times where Reddick is "just playing football". He is way faster and quicker than he shows on the field a majority of the time. When he is not thinking he looks twice as fast as when he is stuck in his head mid-play. I am starting to really notice it.
Reddick was a VERY disappointing draft pick for me personally, and his very slow progress is painful to watch, but improvement is good to see and I am seeing that on the field. My hope is he doesn't plateau any time soon.
